Chapter 246
Wang Yu helped Li Zi Yun to stand up but her legs gave out but Wang Yu held her tightly. Everyone in the crowd saw this as a family feud and did not comment. They knew better than to talk about the Wang family in front of them.
Wang Yu helped Li Zi Yun to get up, "Come let's go home"
Li Zi Yun shook her head. She could the anger in Wang Yu's eyes. She was no longer the old Li Zi Yun who shivered when Wang Yu stared at her.
Li Zi Yun said in a final tone, "No, we're staying"
Wang Yu could not believe her words, "You're shivering"
"I know"
"Baby don't be stubborn now"
Wang Yu was truly getting angry now. He did not know why Li Zi Yun had to be so stubborn and stay here. Wang Yu had never yelled at Li Zi Yun after marrying her, but now he was losing his patience.
Wang Yu calmed himself down and tried to speak in a composed tone to Li Zi Yun, "Don't make me carry you home now"
But Li Zi Yun did not back either, "The engagement party is about to start. Let's go inside"
Wang Yu tried to reason with her for one last time, "This engagement is not important as your life to me"
But Li Zi Yun was no mood to listen to him.
Wang Yu whispered in Li Zi Yun's ears, and this was not in the gentle tone in which he usually teased her. This was the same tone in which he used to speak to her when she was his secretary, "I'm not letting you outside for a year after this"
Wang Yu then entered the hall with Li Zi Yun. Anyone who saw Wang Yu's face could feel the murderous glow in his eyes but Li Zi Yun did not bother. Wang Yu held his wife too close to him and did not let her move an inch from his side. After congratulating the couple, Wang Yu dragged Li Zi Yun almost the next second. Li Zi Yun pulled her hands away from Wang Yu's grasp and walked to the car, she was not even a bit intimidated by his anger. He was not the only one who was angry.
Li Zi Yun and Wang Yu were sitting on the opposite ends of the seat. When Wang Yu tried to take Li Zi Yun's hand, she pushed his hand away. He placed a hand on her shoulder, but Li Zi Yun did not turn to look at him.
Wang Yu's mobile phone pinged and he saw a message flash on the screen,
'I told you there will be consequences. Now wait for my next step'
Someone was playing games with him and Wang Yu was ready to murder that person.
As soon as Wang Yu entered the house he started yelling to the maid standing there holding tea readily for them, "I want water not tea", and saying that Wang Yu threw the cup shattering it into pieces.
Li Zi Yun stood at the door watching Wang Yu's angry outburst without moving. Wang Yu then started walking towards the bedroom and Li Zi Yun followed him.
Wang Yu stopped again and started yelling, "How many times do I have to inform that snacks should be ready for Zi Yun as soon as she comes home?"
The maids and butler had not seen Wang Yu in this state for years and everyone was shivering now looking at Wang Yu's icy demeanor. Wang Yu walked straight to the bedroom, removed his tie, and threw it on the floor.
At last Li Zi Yun spoke, "You knew something was going to happen didn't you?"
Wang Yu stood still for a moment and then went to continue what he was doing.
Li Zi Yun was not ready to take this silent treatment, "Answer me. Now"
Li Zi Yun did not know why she asked that question but Wang Yu's reaction confirmed her suspicion. Now she understood why Wang Yu was angry. Even though he knew something was going to happen, he could not do anything about it.
When Wang Yu did not turn to face her, Li Zi Yun walked and stood before Wang Yu forcing him to look at her, "You knew it"
Li Zi Yun sat on the bed, tired, it has been a long day and she wanted the day to over right now. Wang Yu at last came and sat beside Li Zi Yun. She took this opportunity and leaned against his shoulders and when Li Zi Yun was in his arms, he could no longer stay angry.
Hugging Wang Yu tightly, Li Zi Yun spoke in almost a whisper, "Baby… I'm I'm scared"
Wang Yu was stroking her hair silently not knowing how to console Li Zi Yun. Anyone would be scared in this situation and Li Zi Yun was no exception. His hands tightened around Li Zi Yun and he pulled her to his lap.
Li Zi Yun blurted out what had been bothering her the whole day, "What if something like this happens again? What will happen to our baby?"
Wang Yu pressed his lips to Li Zi Yun's temple and stroked her hair trying to calm her down.
At last Wang Yu spoke, "I won't let anyone mess around our lives"
Li Zi Yun lifted her head to look at Wang Yu and asked him, "So you knew this was going to happen?"
Li Zi Yun turned around fully and held Wang Yu's face in between her hands, "Is that why you did not want to go?"
Wang Yu looked away unable to face Li Zi Yun, but Li Zi Yun pulled his face to look at her, "Baby, look at me."
When at last Wang Yu looked at her eyes, Li Zi Yun continued, "No matter what it is, tell me directly. I have you by my side so am not afraid of anything.
I know you will not let anything happen to us.
Our baby and me (Li Zi Yun rubbed her belly). We have nothing to worry when you're around us"
Wang Yu pulled Li Zi Yun in for a long kiss. She was right, she trusted him and Wang Yu would anything to keep her safe.
