Chris and Roderick walked silently down the stairs. Their meeting after so long was so awkward. Roderick didn't expect that he still hated Chris every time he saw him, even though the interaction between them in the past had been so rare. Roderick had thought Chris was dead, just as he had thought Lucille didn't exist, after the two of them married.
"She looks like Lucille," said Roderick. "Runa Crown."
"Of course. She's her daughter," Chris muttered nonchalantly. "What are you planning to take me home with? On foot? Or carry me and fly with those wings you are proud of?"
Roderick got goosebumps at the thought of himself carrying Chris and flying with him. Chris snorted and smiled mockingly.
"I don't want to do that either," Chris said.
Roderick had no idea the human he was currently with had a sense of humor.
