Reincarnating in the world of My Hero Academia with the alien watch, I only dreamt of having a laid-back life. However, I ended up becoming the Protagonist's elder brother. Wtf... ***** A/N:- I know, synopsis sucks. But well, I added what you needed to know to start reading my work. It's not a crossover since the MC will only have the Ultimatrix not like any character of the Ben 10 verse would be appearing in MHA. The MC would be overpowered, but surely there would be some struggle, but no nerfing. If you are looking for some fanfic where MC is an arrogant prick who knows nothing but to insult others, then don't read this.
Life has been difficult for me...most of the time. Having family responsibilities from the age of sixteen, I worked my ass off to pay the debts, my mother's hospital charges, and my younger brother's tuition fees.
Did several jobs through the years. Newspaper delivery, as a tutor, food delivery, and sometimes as an editor for authors.
My personality was shaped according to the way I had to behave to my employer. With time I changed so much that if I stumbled into a passerby, I was the one who apologized first and walked away to avoid needless banter. Everything started to feel weary and draggy.
When I turned twenty-one, I realized that I was no longer looking like the one I was when my father died. I looked older for my age, and my mobile application and lack of social media dictated that, mentally, I had turned old.
Well, that didn't make me sad... but once in a while, when I looked at my school group chat and looked at my ex-classmate having fun in college...making memories, having relationships...I felt sad.
There was no one I could share my feelings with, or they would think I was trying to gain sympathy. And telling my family about it meant they would feel guilty.
Thankfully, now I can live my days as I like since Mom has returned home, all healthy, and my brother has also joined a good college on scholarship.
Most of my responsibilities have been lifted and now, I can live my life for myself....or so I thought.
[Good evening, wandering soul.]
Yeah, I am dead.
Just a random day, I was going to the grocery store to buy something, when I spotted a stroller descending at a high pace downslope. The mother of the baby was rushing behind the stroller but I knew she wouldn't be able to make it.
Although I saved the baby, my body crashed against the stone pavement, and the crash was brutal enough to...cause me a minor death-worthy injury.
[If you are worried about your family, I can tell you their future.]
Hearing that, a small flame of hope ignited within me as I looked up and asked, "Please."
The person sitting across from me behind the desk leaned forward and rested their hands on the table. I couldn't see their faces, but from their voices, it seemed the person was a man.
After a brief pause, he told me something that allowed me to take a breath of relief,
[Your mother recovers from your loss within a year, and thanks to your brother's early internship at an IT company, they can move on fairly well. In three years, your brother falls in love with a good girl and gets married soon. Having grandchildren allows your mother to enjoy the last few years of her happy life. In summary, after your death, your family lives the best years of their lives.]
Ah, so that was it, huh? Maybe I was the cause of their grief after all? But well, I cannot grieve over something which I cannot control.
Looking at the deity, I asked, "So, what will happen to me now?"
The deity began,
[Your selfless act cut your life short and you died before the date you were supposed to. Thanks to your positive Karma you will be granted to be reborn into another world and enjoy a better life. In your new life, you would be allowed to live as you want and fulfil your dreams.]
Hearing those words, I almost felt this was nothing but a scene out of every fantasy-loving person.
I asked, "Can I also reincarnate into a fictional world?"
The deity chuckled,
[Of course, you can. However, the world you want to reincarnate into and the powers you will be granted, you can choose only one of the two.]
…that was unexpected. Generally, there is a spinning wheel or something that decides the world and powers, no? And here I was, given the chance to choose one of them.
"Will there be any lower limit of powers given to me if I chose it randomly?" I asked; assuming if I chose some world like HunterxHunter or Demon Slayer, shouldn't there be any lower limit of the abilities I would get? Imagine reincarnating into Dragon Ball world with Aqua's powers.
[No, there won't be. You can get anything in the random wheel.]
Aww, that sucks. In the end, I would not take risks with my abilities.
"Please choose a world for me to reincarnate." I am very new to anime and fantasy. I barely watched anything and I just knew the basic synopsis of every word. If anything, I have watched anime like Horimiya and Bunny Girl Senpai in my free time, and even those at regular intervals. So it doesn't matter where I reincarnate as long as I can choose my abilities accordingly.
[Wise choice.]
As those words echoed, suddenly, a huge spinning wheel appeared beside the deity.
I looked intently at those names and failed to recognise more than half of them.
The entity waved his hand and the wheel began to spin at a rapid pace.
I kept my eyes connected to that arrow which would decide my destination.
It continued to rotate for about half a minute before it slowed down enough to expose the names once again.
I held my breath as the wheel slowly slowed its pace, and finally, I could see the world I was about to reincarnate into.
[My Hero Academia.]
Ah, that quirk and villain anime, huh? I have heard about it and watched a few episodes, but I do not have much knowledge. But well, at least it's better than reincarnating into a completely unknown world where you can be killed if someone knew your name and how you looked.
[Now, your powers. Have you decided or do you want some time?]
"Ah, no…I have already thought about it," Taking a deep breath, I said, "I want an ultimatrix from the Ben 10 series."
The moment the wheel stopped at MHA, I knew I would have to pick a versatile power given the possible challenges that the world can offer.
As such, I went with my favourite show, which, as a child, I loved to watch.
[Hmm, I can grant you the Ultimatrix, but you won't have access to every alien from the get-go. I will provide you 40 Karma Points for now, and based on your actions in your new life you can unlock more.]
"Works with me….but can I choose my aliens by myself?"
[Of course!]
As he said, suddenly the wheel disappeared and suspended in the air where the cards of the aliens were arranged on a points basis.
Like the first row was of ten points, the next one five, then three, two and one.
I intently went through the lists and found myself wanting many aliens.
However, I decided to choose wisely.
In the first row, there were aliens like, Way Big, Upgrade, Clock Work, XLR8, Swarm Fire and some others.
The second list contained Four Arms, Diamond Head, Echo-Echo, Chromastone, Feedback, and others.
I checked the whole list but there wasn't any Alien X urging me to ask,
"Is Alien X not available?"
The deity raised their finger upward, urging me to look up in the list as well…only to find my eyes widening upon realizing that Alien X was of a thousand points.
I returned to the available aliens and made my decision.
"I want Clock Work and Swarm Fire from the first list. Echo-echo, Fastrack and Four Arms from the second, and Bullfrog from the third. Hmm…the last two points for Eatle. Yes, that would be good."
I have taken one strength type, one-speed type, one water alien, one power blaster, one sound amplifier, and the most versatile alien, Swarmfire. About clockwork, then that was a gamble.
[Hmm, nice selection. Now let me remind you that you will only get a thirty-minute transformation ability. You can switch between aliens on voice command, and transform in the same way as well. However, you will only be granted thirty minutes to remain in alien form unless you let your watch rest for six hours, completely. Even a single transformation in those six hours will undo the cycle.]
Hearing those words, I couldn't help but ask, "Can't I increase the time limit?"
[Yes, you can, with the Karma Points you will earn. The same goes for other aliens.]
I heaved a sigh. Thankfully, there was a way.
[Second, don't tamper with your watch using any Alien since it won't grant you anything.]
Well, I expected as much that's why Grey Matter was never my first choice.
[Third, if you use the ultimate form of an alien, your remaining time will be reduced by half.]
Understandable.
[Now, are there any questions you would like to ask?]
The deity asked. I was actually quite satisfied with the arrangements. However, I still have a doubt,
"How can I earn Karma Points?"
That was the most important factor if I wanted to unlock those aliens, which I am finding heartbreaking not to pick here.
There was a pause before the deity finally revealed a faint smile and said,
[Simple; be a hero.]
