Lucoa

"Shh! It was such a fulfilling life." the woman uttered as she took a clear blue crystal out of her chest.

She smiled as her flesh started to crumble and reduce into ash, "Ahh.. this short life is so sweet, I envy those who are living for up to how many decades for they may enjoy this world's beauty... my fragment, live well and make your life, a month's long, worthy of being born... but remember, we carry misfortune to those around us.." until her existence reduced into nothing, as if she never existed.

Then the gem rolled into the ground, fell from the great height of the mountain where the woman had perished. There was a young man who found and picked on his way home, his skinny hands bled as he touched the sharp edge of the crystal and felt a throbbing from within his chest, it's as if an unseen connection was established between him and the object. He kept the thing in his pocket and returned home slowly, he was very hungry and he didn't managed to find a job that day. A young man without coin, a village that lacks resources, and a devastated hut that he calls home... a perfect definition of poverty.

As he entered the hut with decaying roofs over his head, he felt so heavy and fell on his knee, the sight of his dead younger brother and dying mother gave him chills.

"Lucoa..." his mother calls his name in a very weak tone as her tears started to pour down from her dehydrated face.

Many people died due to starvation on that season but he never even thought it would also happen to his loved ones, that day he tried to find job to buy food, money doesn't matter to the likes of him who haven't eaten any for the past four days... and that day before going home, he thought that the gods never abandoned him, to give him a crystal that could be fetch for a huge amount of money. But it's too late and his family succumbed to starvation.

"I will give back this thing that I took! Please save my family!" he screamed as he look up to plead the gods, "Please! I haven't done anything wrong!.. P-please..! Anyone save them.."

And his plead reached none, a deafening silence filled the decaying hut, with two corpses on his sides, his weeping continued and his voiceless screams. Until the dawn arrives and the hut was left with nothing but three corpses of a family.

The crystal on the young man's pocket started to grow, sucking up the flesh, devouring everything that the young man had, a vessel was created.

"Lucoa" said the entity.
