Love At Stake

"Tobin! Tobin!" She called out his name, but he was gone. And was probably never coming back. She had seen that look in his eyes before. He was angry and in that state he was capable of doing anything. "You are ungrateful. After all the Lancaster have done for you. You have no right to be so angry! Do you think staying with your loser father would have been better? Look I know what I suffered as a kid. My supposed dad, your biological father was all I got and I dare say he failed in his responsibility!" Those were the exact words she had said to Tobin few minutes ago. Tobin was hurt. Trouble!

Luckily for her the chess class was the last for that day, so she didn't have to wait around for another class. She knew if she waited until the close of the class she would probably not get a bus on time because of the other students, so she quickly dashed out of the class in a bid to get a bus that will quickly take her home. She kept calling her dad but there was no response instead she got a text from him informing her not to go home but to stay at Ella's. That only made her even more determined to go home and see what was wrong since she has never been the type to be told what to do.

Sharon being a very beautiful girl with all the curves in the right places, standing alone at the gate exposed her to different guys who kept trying to get her attention. She hated nothing more than walking alone because of the kind of attention she always received from guys. Ella had always been her shield at times like when she needed to get away from them, but this time she had left class without her.

"Sharon! Sharon!" She heard someone shouting her name. She turned around and saw Ella running in her direction.

"Why did leave the class like that?" she asked when she finally caught up with her even though she was out of breathe.

"I am worried about my dad I need to get home as fast as I can." Sharon said with a worried frown.

"Why? What is wrong?" Ella asked but she knew she wouldn't get a reply. She recognized the look on Sharon's face, that look of great distress.

"Then I will come with you." Ella offered instead, but got no response. The bus finally came around and they both got in. It was a silent journey. Ella knew it was always best to leave her in that state.

Immediately they got home sharon rushed into the house. Everywhere was perfect and there was no irregularity in the arrangement of the living room so she decided to move to the bedroom. She kept calling her dad but this time his phone was switched off. By this time the pain in her arm had completely gone.

She decided to change her clothes before doing anything else, but the moment she stepped into her room she had a strong feeling that something was amiss but she couldn't place her hand on it. She was about to pull her clothes when she discovered pieces of metals on the floor. She looked closely and discovered they were from her safe box.

She quickly rushed to her safe and discovered it was empty. All her savings was gone. She didn't know when a scream escaped her lips.

Ella who had been in the living room all this time rushed to her room and saw her crying. One quick look at Sharon, and Ella could tell why she was crying because she was holding the empty safe (Ella had been the one who had given her the idea to open a safe) but she could not imagine who could have done such a thing to her friend.

Sharon was confused as to how anyone could have gotten the location of the safe and even how the person could have gotten access to the house. She kept thinking of who could have done that to her. Only Ella knew of the safe but not of the location. They had planned to save money together to buy both the gown and heels they needed for their prom night, but now everything was gone.

Ella offered to call the cops but Sharon quickly shook her head. After some minutes she let out a sigh as it occured to her that only one person could have done this to her.

"I know who did this." She finally said.

"Who?" Ella asked wide eyed.

"My dad" Sharon replied sadly.

"That is absurd!" Ella shouted. "I will put a call across to him right now."

"Don't worry about that, he won't answer his calls. I think I know where he is."

"Where?" Ella asked.

Sharon thought for a while and replied "La Masia De Casin."
