Old Binny.

I led us through the shuttles and straight to one of the auxiliary hangars, portaling in Star's gear.

"Riley, how are we on the shoggoths?" I asked.

The shoggoths were a project I had given her to compensate for her physical frailty. Well relative physical frailty.

She was already stronger than an average soldier with her body mods, almost as strong as me by half.

But there were higher forces at play in this world and other so I wanted her to at least have some decent minions, better than the dog sized bio-computer spiders she had following her everywhere.

That's where the shoggoths came in.

Ten ton flesh monstrosities built in the image of Endbringers, tough but malleable tissue giving them a strength unbelaying of their blob like appearance with a frightening speed to match.

Their body fluids were natural healing serums and they could also secrete deadly acid and contact poison from a separate set of sacs.

Not to mention their true purpose in field medicine saw them producing their own sterilized silk and tiny but nimble appendages that acted as needled hands and scalpels.

They even shot out touch based charges of bioelectricity for defibrillation.

Truly, all round medical companions built for war. The perfect medic.

Or close at least.

"Yes Papa. They're up in the transporter platforms ready for deployment. We can beam them down as needed." She replied.

I nodded.

Those beam transporters are something else I prepped in the Star Wars world. A short trip to Star Trek and viola. Two new methods of teleportation!

Phasers! Red Matter! Dilithium warp drives!

And a whole lot more.

Even an encounter with that bastard Q!

I'll have at him one day, that one!

But for now, I just needed the beams.

I walked further into the hangar as two portals opened up behind me.

From one out flew my lab coat draping itself over me.

From the other followed the new addition to my arsenal, made especial for the Marvel universe, a tribute to the original stars.

A palm sized module shot out of a portal attaching to my back, expanding across it to form a nanite suit.

But that wasn't the important part. The four mechanical tentacles the extended out from my back were.

Long, flexible alloy tentacles, mounted on frictionless gimbals, extending out from my back, powered by a smidge of Isoptope-322 miniaturized reactor core, with telescoping at the ends into sharp claws that could rend flesh and tear metal apart like wet toilet paper.

In the base of the claws, lay the classic armaments, one each, a freeze ray, a laser cutter, a disintegration beam and an EMP field emitter.

Dr. Octopus might just die of jealousy!

I patted down my coat and checked to see I had all the usual carry ons as I came to a stop before a vehicle covered in a thin, opaque tarp.

Nostalgia filled me as I ran my hand across the silken surface of the cover.

It had been two years since I last used this one.

My first. The one that popped my driving cherry.

Gross. Yes.

I meant it that way.

I smiled, and ripped the cover off, throwing it to the side revealing the old binny herself, a crude mix between a Dodge Ram and a Mercedes All Terrainer, and if my initial checks were correct, still in as fine a condition as always.

"Oh! The old van!" Star smiled, jumping onto the bonnet.

"You remember it? You were so little when we brought you home in it for the first time." I reminisced, opening up the door and pulling Star in.

"Uhun! I don't know how, but I do!" He chirped happily.

Probably the Celestial part of him preserving a lot of his memories intact.

Man, I can't wait to be a god of my own.

"Was this your first spaceship?" Riley asked, getting right to the core of the issue in a jiffy.

"Yup. You got it in one!" I smiled, patting her head and motioned her in.

"My first ever ship. I was just starting out back then, stranded on a foreign world with no money or ID.

Bought her scraps from a high end yard myself. Dug through the dump and all. Took me eight days to get all the parts together. And another twelve to put it together.

All in all though it turned out really fine." I gloated, proud.

"This doesn't look like it was made out of trash...." Riley muttered, surprised.

I started the engine and huffed.

"Of course not. Your Papa put his heart and soul into making this. No way I was going to let it look like a dumpster fire on wheels! I'm not Rick!"

"Who's Rick?" She asked.

"The guy I took the portal gun from. The genius inventor?"

"Oh. Did he make his ship out of garbage too?"

"Yup. And he didn't even keep it clean. A man's car is his second wife. You gotta keep her nice and minty!" I said, opening the hangar doors.

"That's weird Papa!" She chuckled.

I just smiled and shrugged.

Maybe I was too invested. Or greedy. Or a hoarder.

But I don't care. I'll always fiercely hold on to what's mine.

And I never let go!

"You got all your equipment on you, Riley?" I asked one final time.

"Yes. All the implements and drugs. All here." She patted her thick and aggressively frilly dress.

"If you're so sure. Here." I said, and a portal dropped a forcefield generator dropped into her lap.

"Clip it on. Don't want my precious daughter getting hurt, now do we?" I said.

Riley smiled genuinely as she looked down at the generator and ran her hand across it.

"Put it on already. We're leaving." I said, the van floated up and the thrusters engaged.

"Oh okay!" She squeaked, startled, and tied it onto her utility belt by her messenger bag.

"Now remember what I told you in the briefing."

I turned back to address them one final time.

"Don't tell anyone anything Papa wouldn't.

And if you're not sure, just don't tell anyone anything.

If weird people in uniform come out of a portal, don't let them touch you and inform Papa first, okay?" Don't want them getting held hostage by the TVA or worse, terminated.

Or the Ancient One. Or the Eternals. Or the Inhumans. Or ... honestly, you get the point.

"In fact if anyone comes out of a portal, immediately deal with them from range and keep your distance from any and all portals not mine.

If you hear any sweet voices tempting you, or gods or supposed higher beings offering you a deal to betray me or make you immortal or anything else, remember, they are lying. They always are. No exceptions!

We have a simple mission.

Go down and pull out with the Space Stone, at the base of that big blue light over there.

And wipe out the aliens while we're at it. It will make for a good public image. Once we have the Space Stone, we help out the civilians. Build a nice image for ourselves.

We'll be staying here for a few years so let's make nice with the neighborhood."

"And finally. This is a warzone. So be careful. You never know what could happen." I put my hands on their cheeks, cupping them, lovingly.

"Papa loves you. So keep the forcefields on, always and don't die, okay?"

They both nodded solemnly.

"Alright let's do this!" I said, excited "You up for saving a city from an alien invasion?"

"Yeah!" They screamed.

"Then off we go!"

And we burst out of the hangar, zipping away to earth.
