Vampire Elders

"The elders want to meet you and Lord Kier."

Tila tumigil ang pag-ikot ng mundo ni Reese nang sabihin iyon ni Butler Sue. the elders chose to call them privately then meeting them at the party. They were probably at the room Kier prepared for them, a specialized room where her identity would be secured.

Kier prepared all this stuff just to be safe and she's grateful for it.

"Okay, Butler Sue. We understand." Sagot ni Kier kay Butler Sue at nilingon si Reese na mukhang wala sa sarili.

Reese's concentration was slowly fading, her nervousness was wrecking her and it felt like this would be the end of her. After studying who and what kind of vampires are the elders makes her scared this much.

For the past four years she lived in this vampire world, she met vampires which were lower rank than hers, but this time? She's meeting someone much, much higher than her and much older than the years she's been alive.

"The elders are quite hard to deal with, Reese. If they find out what you are," Kier paused and held reese's cold hands. "I'm sorry, I have no choice but to continue the proposal."

Reese was silent for a moment, her face was emotionless and lips slightly parted. This is a lifetime decision, she can't back out once everything was said and done. She can't just easily annul her marriage to Kier if it was decided by the elders.

Reese smiled and cleared her throat, "I understand, Kier. Thank you for your efforts and I already apologize for what will happen in the future."

Hindi na muling sumagot si Kier at tanging tango na lamang ang binigay nito kay Reese, hindi na sila nag-sayang pa ng ilang minuto at kaagad silang dumeretso sa kuwartong inuukupa ng mga ito.

Both of them stood in front of the two tall wooden doors, but just by standing there, Reese could definitely smell a familiar scent lingering inside the room.and just by secretly sniffing it, she could tell that that scent was too familiar for her to forget.

"The lady of the Reklavion clan and Lord Kier has arrived." The footman yelled before opening the big wooden doors.

The four walled room was colored with dark grey, even the furnitures were heavy, dark and ornate, which brings out the victorian-like interior of the room Reese didn't know existed.

Reese heard the heavy wooden doors behind them closed and without wasting any minute, Reese looked in front of her and saw the elders whom she fears. The first thing that Reese got to see was their eyes.

Their eyes shouts boldness and bravery, their eyes had seen everything throughout the history Reese had studied. Their skin was as pale as a snow and just by the thought of touching them, Reese could figure out their coldness already.

"Ah, the daughter of the one and only Marquis." The coldness of the voice sent shivers through Reese's spine.

Reese just couldn't believe that the two elders whom the other vampires feared, the vampires who lived older than anyone- the oldest known vampires are now in front of her. The most powerful and the ruler of the whole population of vampires are now right before Reese's eyes.

"My lord Corbin and lord Alaric…" Reese slightly bowed to show respect to the elders in front of her, Kier also did the same as what Reese did.

As soon as she raised her head, Lord Alaric was suddenly in front of her, examining her from head to toe and Reese could feel the numbness on her legs because of her nervousness. His eyes were as dark as charcoal and those were the eyes that most of the vampires feared.

Lord Alaric held Reese's chin and raised it to see her face fully. A grin showed in his lips and Reese could clearly see his fangs with the grin he just showed. Binitawan nito ang baba niya at dahan-dahan na inukutan siya.

"You look a lot like your mother, Rachel, your father's downfall." Lord Alaric said in such a low voice.

"He could have been one of the elders if he did not leave the Reklavion." Lord Corbin added while holding a drink in his hand.

Reese couldn't mutter any word with everything they were telling her. She had never met her mother nor her father- the person who wants her dead.

Lord Alaric then went in front of Kier with a smirk, now he was holding the same drink Lord Corbin was holding.

"It's been a while, Kier." Bati ni Lord Alaric kay Kier at inabutan ng inumin si Kier.

Kier politely accepted the glass and she watched the three of them raise a toast at each other. Lord Alaric and Lord Corbin knew Kier for a long period of time, they even saw him grow up which was the benefit Kier had.

The three of them were about to drink the glass when Lord Corbin stopped half-way and so did Kier and Lord Alaric.

"What's wrong, my lord?" Kier asked Lord Corbin.

Lord Cobin looked at Reese with such critical eyes, as if he was raising a suspicion of Reese.

"Wouldn't be quite impolite of us to not let Rebecca drink with us?" Lord Corbin suddenly came towards Reese within just a matter of seconds and he gently touched the tips of her hair.

"I don't mind about it, my lord." Reese said politely but Lord Corbin did not listen to what she said.

"Actually, the third elder was not able to come here due to some priorities." Saad ni Lord Corbin at binaba ang baso nito sa lamesa, "But, he did prepare something for Rebecca."

Reese found herself dumbfounded as soon as she heard there were three elders, not two. Reese looked at Kier who was avoiding her eyes, and for this important matter, Kier did not tell her about the third elder. All along she knew that there were only two of them.

Reese just continued with her act and smiled politely at Lord Corbin and Lord Alaric.

"I am so touched that my lord took the trouble to prepare something for this day. I give my lord my warmest thanks." Reese politely thanked the third elder who sent a gift specially for her.

"Great! Masayang saad ni Lord Corbin at tinignan ang tila alalay niya na nasa gilid lang. "Bring her in, Butler."

Reese waited for the servant to bring the gift that the third elder bought for her, she thought that it was an item or a drink, but to her surprise it was a girl.

"Let me go! Agh!" The girl shouted loudly while she was forcing the tie on her hands.

As soon as they pushed the girl in front of her, the scent that Reese got to smell earlier lingered earlier. She was confused and nervous at the same time. Why would the third elder bring a human for her as a gift.

"It was really thoughtful of Knik to prepare a human as a gift." Nakangiting saad ni Lord Alaric.

Lord Corbin knelt on the ground and looked at the girl sobbing in front of her, the girl was in a helpless state and was kidnapped just for her to receive it.

"The scent of this girl might have been bothering you, Rebecca." Nakangising saad ni Lord Corbin at tumayo. "What do you think you should do with this helpless human?"

Reese looked at the human in front of her, the human tugged the end of her dress and cried in front of Reese.

"Let me go… please…" The human begged.

Reese's familiarity over the person started to grow much wider, from the girl's scent and voice- everything felt familiar to her.

The suspicion behind Reese's curiosity stopped as soon as the girl looked at Reese straight in the eyes.

Her eyes widened as soon as she saw the person she knew when she used to live as a mortal, the person whom she used to trust… It was her best friend, Faith.
