I Will Win Your Heart - Hiatus

"Pa!" A resounding slap echoed throughout the room. The recipient of the slap, a man, staggered backwards as the force of the attack was so strong, one would imagine it came from a huge and burly man.

But the one who actually performed the slap was a tall and slim woman with long ash blonde hair. Wearing a pair of blush Steve Madden heels, black jeans, and a baby-pink off-shoulder blouse, this woman exuded a noble aura. She only had a simple make-up on. But that was only because she was already so beautiful, no further enhancement was needed. This woman was Anne Yue Montalvo.

"Anne Yue! How dare you hit Damian!" shrieked a brunette-haired woman who was wearing a bathrobe. She was slightly shorter than Yue. Her thick make-up slightly faded due to the 'intense workout' that she was doing with the man just a few minutes earlier.

Yue's expression was filled with anger and disdain as she stared at the man in front of her. This man, Damian Benford, is her fiancé.

No, 'was' my fiancé.

Damian only had boxers on. One could accurately imagine what this scene meant. A woman semi-naked, a woman wearing a bathrobe with her hair disheveled, and another woman with a face full of fury.

"I don't think I need to explain myself as to why I slapped you, right, Damian?" Yue's voice was intimidatingly calm.

"Y-Yue, I can explain." Damian stuttered.

"What can you possibly say that will change whatever it is that I am thinking right now?" Yue raised an eyebrow. Damian shivered at the intense aura that Yue was emitting at that moment. He had never seen her so mad in the four years that he had been with her. He knew at that moment that it was over for them. Over for him. He felt an immense guilt and remorse.

"Ann Yue! How dare you ignore me! I am talking to you!"

Yue moved her eyes to give the woman an intense glare. She could not believe the betrayal of the two people she thought she trusted. One was the person she thought she'd be with for the rest of her life. The other was a friend she thought she knew.

The 'other' woman, who is a rising actress and singer, Veronica Safford, flinched when she felt the intimidating pressure that she received from Yue.

"Veronica." Yue scoffed. "I never thought there'd come a day where I would wish I can tear your flesh inch by inch. Just so you can feel the pain for a very long time. I won't let you faint, that would be merciful of me. But as I 'was' your friend, I'll spare you this time." Every word she uttered was filled with hatred for this woman who she once trusted. Veronica flinched and could not utter a response. She knew that as a surgeon, Yue can very well achieve what she had said. Veronica suddenly felt scared.

Yue then looked again at her ex-fiancé. "Damian, we had four years. Four years! We were going to get married in five months. Five months! And you couldn't wait?" She knew why this betrayal happened. It was because she was yet to give all of herself to him. And why wouldn't she? She was obviously saving herself for the right moment! She told him that the first day they were official. And he respected her decision. At least… that's what he said to her at that time. He obviously could not uphold it. Seeing him partially naked with a woman other than herself, what else could she think?

Pain, sadness, and despair meshed all at once inside of Yue. She was clenching her fists so hard she could feel her nails dig through her skin. As if fueling her fragile emotions at that moment, memories of her and Damian together started to flash through her mind. It intensified the sorrow within her that she felt her eyes well up.

Not yet!

She fought the urge to let go of her tears. No. She won't let them see this side of her. She would walk out of this situation as a winner. Never a loser.

"Yue…" Damian's voice croaked. He could not say anything else but her name.

"Save your breath. It's over. We're over!" She hastily removed the diamond engagement ring that she was wearing on her finger. She walked to the coffee table nearby and placed the ring on top of it. She then proceeded to walk straight to the door without any intentions of looking back. She went out as swift as she went in. But before anything, she did not forget to slam the door as hard as she could.

In contrast to her noble and calm façade, her mind was in shambles. Her emotions haywire. She was on the verge of breaking down. It was like she was a walking robot. She did not even realize she reached the entrance of the hotel. She only woke from her reverie when the valet approached her and handed her the keys to her Mercedes. After giving him a tip, she went inside her car.

She bit her lip when she sensed her eyes welling up again.

No, not yet, please!

She started her car and drove away from that place.
