Tatiana recalls listening to her grandmother talk about things that could only occur in a fantasy world when she was a very young girl. She remembered how much fun it was to hear these tales from her grandma. While she and her brother, who is one year younger, listen to their late grandmother's stories. Regrettably, they had to move away from their grandmother to live in the city. That was the last time she had seen the elderly woman. One day her mother gets a call informing her that her grandmother had already passed away and that everyone in the family had to go to the funeral home in accordance with the old woman's wishes and her will. Her grandmother had granted her the right to the sizable house or cabin—whatever you want to call it—in the woods upon receiving the will. Tatiana was perplexed because her grandmother and she has not been together for a very long period of time. But nevertheless still- Preparing to begin a new life at their grandmother's house, Tatiana soon discovers a number of strange and unsettling occurrences that are much creepier than the deceptive faces of her supposed pals in the city. Despite her best efforts to avoid it, curiosity somehow manages to draw her back into wanting to know what is going on.
Third Person's POV
Tatiana cautiously scans the area outside the car. She have only seen trees in every directions.
"Mum are we there yet?" The teenage girl questioned in a low voice.
The woman driving the car answered, "I'm sorry, we're not there yet sweetie, but we're almost there.
"You've been saying it throughout the past 5 hours", said a teen man who seemed to be younger than the girl.
"I'm sorry, Theo, but please try to wait patiently this is for Grandma", the mother pleaded once again.
The two teenagers remained silent as Tatiana simply gazed over at the lush forest. And as she observes the lovely surroundings, a thought crosses her mind.
Despite how the forest looks so calm somehow, it had a eerie vibe to it that gave her chills. As she watch over the greeny and lonesome forest she almost jump out off her seat when their car window was smacked by a hush of wind.
It was right next to her brother, yet she had no clue what it was. She turns to gaze at her brother, who expresses a surprise expression she don't understand if she was startled or just simply scared.
The girl question, "What's wrong Theo".
"There was something huge," Tatiana younger brother responded, his face expression now unreadable it wasn't a terrified look but somehow the feeling of dread still fills her guts.
......
Meanwhile..
A couple were on there way towards to see their grandparents' residences.
"Ahhh, this is extremely dreadful; if it weren't for the damn inheritance, I wouldn't have bothered to attempt coming here," a woman dressed in a skimpy attire exclaimed.
As she keeps complaining.
"Relax honey, we're going to inherit a portion of the old lady's inheritance, and we'll become rich in no time," her husband remarked.
"Well, alright, but the proportion of mine ought to be large, since this damn house of hers is literally miles away off us!" the woman growled.
Perhaps it's the wind, however, as the couple travel, the serene forest seems to grow progressively more eerie.
The two individuals didn't appear to notice somebody or "anything" that was in front of them as they chatted to each other about how lucky they were to be able to have a large sum of cash from the old lady inheritance.
Just then the husband yelled "HEYY LOOK OUT!" seconds before there car crash into something.
'Bammm!'
The female stops the car, "What the bloody hell is that?!" she exclaims.
"Holy shit did we hit someone?!!" The spouse responded.
"Fuck!" the woman shouts back.
The man still shaken however said, "I'm going to take a look," as he unbuckled his seatbelt and unlocked the car door.
The man felt the gust of wind make contact to his skin as he exit the vehicle.
He mutters, "Damn it's cold," as he makes his way over to see if they've actually hit somebody.
Yet there was nothing there when he looked around the back of the car.
There was even nothing in front of them.
And yet, their car's front windshield had sustained significant damage.
The husband notices the forest as somehow unpleasant owing to its ominous appearance, the deafening silence, and the unnerving sound of bamboo trees colliding against each other.
The husband simply shook his head and turned to face his wife afterwards.
"Hey, there was nothing," he stated.
But, the girl was shooting him a distraught stare. Her eyes were getting reddish from tears, and her face was colorless.
"Is there something wrong?" the husband asks a question.
Yet the woman was remained motionless, staring at her husband looking past behind him confused by the behavior.
The man turned around and looked.
And all of a sudden, he was unable to hear anything and felt his head detached off his body.
'Splat'
A sickening thud was heard as the husband's head fell to the ground.
He also couldn't hear his wife's screams. His lastly remembers to see a mysterious giant figure.
Slicing in half his panicked wife.
Before he experienced a complete loss of perception and hearing, the man hears a panicked voice.
"I'm sorry, I swear I didn't really mean it."
Before he really completely closes his eyes he saw the dark looming shadow start shrinking down and he also catch a glimpse of a man in a cloak.
........
Tatiana looks intently at her grandmother's wooden coffin. It makes perfect sense why her mother seems depressed the whole day. Her loving grandmother already has passed away.
"Do you think that she's in a better place?" Her younger brother ask as he gaze at his elder sisters eyes.
Tatiana stroked her younger brother's head and spoke softly, "Yeah granny is a really generous and loving person".
'Clank!!
Just outside the house, there was an unusually loud breaking noise.
Despite the fact that most people may have never heard it. Tatiana unfortunately did, Tatiana look over to her brother and muttered the word 'I'll be right back'. Theo was confused and was unwilling to let go of his sister, but he sighed and nodded his head knowing that his sister would really be back immediately afterwards she patted him on the back as she stand up to leave.
Tatiana walked out the rear door after hearing the noise. Towards the back of the home, she moves slowly. Nothing except for forest trees are visible from a distance. Tatiana started wandering then she spotted what appeared to be an old, wrecked automobile.
She approaches carefully to determine whether anyone is in there. She circled the old vehicle, giving it the appearance that nobody was there well no one is actually is in there she shrugged her shoilder as she though that maybe she's just too tense and was just imagining thing. However-
When she turn her back to head back to the direction of the house her deep blue eyes rested on a pair of green ones, she nearly screamed. And out of shock, she backed up and unintentionally tripped on the worn out car's flat tire.
As she feels herself falling down, she closes her eyes and braces for impact. However she didn't receive it since she sensed a hand gripping hers. Once she opened her eyes, the boy whom have magically appeared was holding her hand and balancing her body.
The young man released her and frowned at her with eyes that appeared displeased. Tatiana was aware of it because the city was filled with negativity and she had developed a sensibility to other people's emotions.
She knows who's really lying and who doesn't she can differentiate the two. Though it doesn't really matter its not like she has kind of relationship with those kind people. Regaining her composture she raises her eyebrows as the young teen boy scans her figure from top to bottom.
"Are you done?" she asked sarcastically, annoyed by the man's glances.
"Yeah sure and you are probably the grandchild of the elderly woman correct?" The man ask now starring at Tatiana eyes.
"Yes, and you are?" Tatiana asks.
The man said, "Ahhh forgive my rudeness, my name is Rio, and I am the kid that the chief villager around here looks after." The man's smiled yet it was just barely reaching his eyes.
"So you're saying there's a village here", Tatiana asks perplexed.
Why? You may ask? Since she never once saw a village after all on tge whole travel here all she have ever seen is trees. And if they ever pass a village its not hard to notice since that will only be the completely out of place, place here.
"I understand that confusion but unfortunately if you come in the road from the city you wont unfortunately pass the village because its in the other side" Rio explained.
Tatiana nods her head then said, "Ahhh, thanks for the explanation, but I have to leave; my brother's probably worried about me right now".
Rio shook his shoulder and said, "Oh, you can go; I don't really care what you do regardless." it really appeared as though Rio was trying to make fun of Tatiana.
Tatiana sighed and rolled her eyes at the man's behavior. "Oh, whatever, I'm just saying, and even though you're a local here and obviously know this whole place already, I'm still going to advise you to be careful, this place is really giving me a creepy feeling" she continued though she muttered the last part.
Tatiana simply turns around and left the man.
"By the way, I have one more question," she said, turning her back on the young black haired man with green eyes.
Tatiana prompted again, and Rio nodded in response. She's genuinely relieved that he's responding to her question properly because if he don't she might throw her shoes at him.
Tatiana questions, "Do you guys have a statue or mascot of a giant shadow figure?"
