Heaven's Tribulation

When the Heaven Spirits descended, all that bore witness thought of it as a blessing. Only those that survived knew that it was a curse, shackles in place to monitor all beings within Heaven's Code, limits imposed to suppress all beings. Sheng Tian, who's talent transcends even that of the Absolute One, desires to break out of the confines of the Heavenly World and establish his own sanctuary. Will he fall facing the Guardians of the world? Will he stay true to his original intentions? Only time will tell. Operation Revision is underway! I will slowly but surely go back to my earlier chapters and revise them, using the experience I gained to patch up the holes. Any chapter that I have revised will be stated at the bottom in author's thoughts. Current progress: Chapters 1-10

Awakening The Bloodline

Wu Di took out many more treasures, all of which emitted enough power to destroy the mortal realm though thankfully he set up several formations before taking them out.

All he said was "try not to pass out" before throwing everything in the cauldron.

Sheng Tian felt nothing at first, but after a while he felt a slight stinging sensation. He was about to retort when it suddenly felt as if he was thrown into an active volcano.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

He screamed as all the natural treasures released a massive amount of energy and seeped into his pores. His master floated by his side and erected formations to make sure all that energy is properly absorbed and to keep no one from sensing whatever is happening here.

10 minutes passed and Sheng Tian finally managed to get a hold of himself. The pain was only becoming increasingly unbearable but he managed to get in a lotus position with his eyes closed in intense concentration.

Chaotic energies clashed within each of his cells as his bloodline shackles were slowly grinded away.

Unbeknownst to Sheng Tian, his outer appearance started experiencing changes just as shocking as his insides. Scales appeared here and there, nails elongated into sharp claws, sharp teeth, and even horns. Perhaps if his eyes were open then one would see the eyes of a reptilian creature, not a human's.

Every spirit herb Wu Di threw in is practically unattainable even in the highest heavens meaning that just one of them would cause wars to occur for the slightest piece of it. Only he would be daring enough to use it all to try to activate a mortal's bloodline.

Of course Sheng Tian is no ordinary mortal and the medical bath's purpose is not just for awakening one's bloodline.

Once Sheng Tian absorbs all the energies he would achieve a perfected body, perfected spirit root, and perfected essence root. Having just one of these would grant one an unparalleled advantage when cultivating that path.

An entire day passed by, and Sheng Tian was still in the medical bath enduring great pain. Suddenly, he coughed up a mouthful of black blood and felt as if his body lightened several times.

When he absorbed the last of the chaotic energies, golden light burst out as his bloodline awakened completely. His body now had some draconic features and faint gold symbols appeared on his body.

It would have been a grand moment if his master was not looking at him with gold, twitching eyes.

"Did something go wrong?"

He sighed and said "No, it's just outside my expectations"

Seeing his confusion Wu Di patiently explained "your bloodline has been awakened. Normally, if you had a powerful human parent then your talent would experience a huge leap. If you had a beast parent, you would then change into a half-blood. I expected you to become a draconic half-blood as I had checked what blood you had in you"

"So what is a half-blood and what am I?"

"A half-blood is simply someone who is half human, half magical beast. They have similar cultivation paths compared to humans but are more focused on the body. A half-blood can fight cultivators who are at a higher level than them"

He paused and looked at Sheng Tian who's draconic features retracted "You on the other hand are a mixed-blood, meaning your human blood mixed with your magical beast blood. Mixed-bloods are so rare that even in the higher heavens I have only met 2. Mixed-bloods still retain the 3 cultivation paths of humans but also gains the 3 cultivation paths of magical beasts"

He placed his hand on Sheng Tian's head and sent a strand of consciousness inside.

"Next to your dantian is a core. In your brain now resides a neidan. And next to your heart is a nucleus"

"Try to cultivate now using the 13 Heaven Chaos Scripture. I'll go back to sleep" and with that, he left Sheng Tian by himself.

Sheng Tian climbed out of the huge cauldron and changed into clean clothes. He then ordered the servants to prepare food which he then devoured. Once he was done it was already nighttime. He sat on a mat with several formations inscribed underneath and circulated the 13 Heaven Chaos Scripture.

A massive whirlpool formed as qi gathered in large amounts and formed into glowing balls in his dantian and core at the same time. At the same time qi was gathering at his brow and neidan as well as his body and nucleus. Because he now had 3 extra paths, he thought his strength and requirements would at least be double that of an ordinary cultivator's assuming that others cultivated their paths evenly like Sheng Tian.

What he didn't know was that he greatly underestimated both his cultivation technique and mixed-blood status. The stronger one's cultivation technique, the stronger you are and more energy is needed to break through to the next level. Adding his mixed-blood into the equation, he would be able to fight across several major realms easily.

One's body and soul does not have a specific way to be cultivated and only needs a technique as a guide. Essence cultivation however, needs qi to be formed in a specific way.

In the qi gathering realm, one has to gather qi into glowing qi balls. Every 10 qi balls would be a level and to normal people there are 9 levels meaning 90 qi balls. If Sheng Tian wished to be normal then he would need a total of 180 qi balls to peak both essence paths. However, it is discovered by geniuses that there are in fact 13 levels instead of 9, not that anyone can achieve that even with the knowledge.

The 13 Heaven Chaos Scripture was truly the best cultivation technique in existence. Qi gathered in each of the cultivation paths and qi balls kept forming at an alarming rate.

Small explosions were repeatedly heard in his body and he kept breaking through nonstop. He opened his eyes after some time and exhaled a breath filled with impurities. The sun had come up and Sheng Tian already reached the 13th level of the first realm in all cultivation paths.
