Chapter 1Chapter1 -Transmigration

It is a sunny day in Manhattan with temperatures around 36 degrees. Nikolas Papadopoulos, 30 years old Greek American, is running in the hope of catching a bus.

He is a Computer Science graduate with good grades. He had a dream to get a good job in the USA. Good grades do not mean a good job. He is working in Anrow as a Software Engineer. He is somehow managing everything in his family through his measly salaries. His only family is his mom and dad. They are living in Larissa, Greece. It has been 7 years since he came to the USA for the job. He is trying to immigrate his parents to the USA so that they can settle in the USA.

But the reality is not like that. The American government wants good workers for their industries. But they never like immigrants. Even though they are a country that flourished using immigrant talents. Immigration is a hectic process for people. He has already tried a lot of times with the immigrants in the hope of getting permission to immigrate with his parents to the USA. They told him in his every visit the same dialogue.

''We cannot do it. you need to wait. Contact us after some months.''

The good news is they contacted him 2 days ago that they will allow his parents to come to the USA and settle here. He is really happy because of that news. He will need to go through procedures 3 days later.

Now he has somehow managed to catch the bus.

"It is too much heat today. I am sweating a lot. It will be better if I can get back home faster. I should take a nap on the bus."

Then he falls asleep.

The bus is moving for around 40 minutes. Suddenly, there is a sound of gunfire. People are running in fear. Our protagonist is still asleep without knowing that there is a time bomb inside the bus. And the bus driver is an active member of a secret jihadi organisation who is in the role of a suicide squad member. Today, he wanted to bomb the whole bus while he will also present inside the bus.

Now that the time has come. He speaks in a loud tone which not only makes others stunned but also makes our protagonist awake from his sleep.

"Allahu Akbar. For Jihad."

Then he pressed the button of the remote that controls the bomb.

All of the passengers inside the bus are dead. Our protagonist, Nikolas is succumbed to darkness.

But he never thought he will awaken in the 19th century. Sometimes miracles also happen. When Nikolas opened his eyes again, he saw an unknown but beautiful ceiling. He thought 'I am dead, huh? They will be sad. I will not get the chance to meet them. Well, am I in heaven? Or hell?'

He has tears in his eyes. His thoughts got interrupted by a loud male voice

"Your Highness, second prince. You should wake up now."

Nikolas thought 'What??? , Second prince. It is not heaven or hell. what is happening?'

His Masked Knight

"It is futile" Duke Allen spoke, his amber eyes glinting with unwavering arrogance. "How dare you!?" the crude looking bandit growled as he took another spare dagger. "Don't bother" a sharp, clear-cut voice slashed his thoughts. "My my Edgar, you are frightening the poor soul. Look, he is not bothering to attack with his dagger" Duke chuckled, lacing his words with superiority. It only took a slash to paint the gravel and the ground with bright red. The ground also witnessed a 'thump' and a rolling head. "Wipe that cocky smirk off. It's repulsive" the knight spat out, his eyes were filled with fury at the aloofness exhibited by his master. What would have happened if I were late? "That's not how you speak with your Master, but that's okay.." Duke said, closing the distance between him and his knight. "After all, you are" he slightly bent himself to whisper in the ear of his knight "my one-and-only Edgar Radford" his hiss sent sharp tingles through the knight's body. A rush of rosy hue brightened his white cheeks accompanied by a slight throbbing. ***** Aristocracy, a privileged class holding hereditary titles. The class of the most powerful members of society. The ton or rather the Aristocracy retains notable title-holders. Among them is Allen Barnhart Ferdinand, the Duke of Alterimers. Commonly called "The Rapacious Eagle". When this Eagle decides to deracinate the rats, he rules out a need for a knight. When Edgar Radford proves to be potential knight, Allen chooses him. Mireille Isabelle Martin, the youngest daughter of Count Martin, witnesses her mother's murder at a young age, sworn to retaliate- Mireille bequeaths her old self to become Edgar Radford. Will being chosen by the Rapacious Eagle help her in her path? Or will she become a prey to the Eagle? When fate entangled their past, will they solve the mysteries it evokes? Disclaimer: This story is a pure work of fiction and any resemblance to reality is pure coincidence or vain expectatin.

Title: Gripping Introduction to a Tale of Adversity and Peril Review: In the first chapter of "Greece: From Kingdom To E...," the author skillfully sets the stage for a thrilling and emotional journey. The protagonist, Nikolas Papadopoulos, is introduced as a determined young man with dreams of providing a better life for his family. The contrast between his aspirations and the harsh realities of the American immigration system creates an immediate sense of empathy and relatability. The narrative unfolds against the vibrant backdrop of Manhattan, vividly described through the lens of Nikolas's pursuit to catch a bus. The author's attention to detail immerses the reader in the bustling city streets and the protagonist's tireless efforts. Nikolas's internal struggles, fueled by the conflicting ideals of the American dream and the obstacles he faces, add depth to his character and evoke a sense of resilience. The story takes a dramatic turn as the bus journey becomes a battleground of fear and danger. The author masterfully builds suspense, expertly balancing Nikolas's obliviousness to the impending threat with the growing chaos surrounding him. The inclusion of a terrorist plot and the bus driver's hidden agenda injects an element of high-stakes suspense into the narrative, ensuring readers are kept on the edge of their seats. Throughout the chapter, the author demonstrates a keen understanding of pacing and tension. The introduction of Nikolas's family and his motivations for immigrating imbues the story with emotional weight, creating a strong foundation for future character development and personal stakes. Additionally, the exploration of the complex issues surrounding immigration adds a layer of social relevance and prompts reflection on larger societal challenges. One aspect to note is the handling of sensitive subject matter, particularly terrorism. The author approaches the topic with sensitivity, focusing on the impact it has on the protagonist and the ensuing consequences rather than sensationalizing the act itself. This approach ensures that the narrative remains grounded in character-driven storytelling.
