The next day, it was obvious what was stuck in Avina's head the whole day. The sight of the book ingrained itself in Avina's brain, and no matter how much she tried to ignore it, she couldn't forget it. She had to have it.
Avina swept the floor a couple of times. Her eyes were staring elsewhere, looking at Vatoly's back slowly disappearing behind the doors. Once she heard the metal key clicking in the lock, she quickly threw the broom to the side and ran to the bookshelf.
'Come on, come on, where is it,' Avina repeated in her mind. Her eyes scanned the bookshelf, jumping from one spine to another. No matter where her sights landed, she didn't find the familiar cover.
The stone golems were originally playing around with the empty cardboard boxes but were soon attracted to the ruckus. One by one, the round little stones walked over to her side. One of them tugged Avina's pant legs, pulling her attention away.
