Avina had a slight inkling of what Winter planned to say. After all, she had vast knowledge of the plot and story.
Winter, despite being a maid, had a couple of details in the book. One, Winter was fully loyal to her master, the Madam. There was nothing she would not do for the benefit of the Madam nor would she ever question her master's actions. She was a dedicated, loyal, and strong maid.
Avina admired all those traits, but meeting her in person, she couldn't quite get along with Winter. Winter had heavy prejudice against newly hired maids. (Because she doesn't trust people around her master easily) And her personality was too cold to get along with easily. Her time in the world was short, and she had no time to melt an ice cube.
