Cruelty is a necessity

Ramsey placed the roll of paper down on the table at the center of the office before walking back towards the door and standing their steady.

Allen Walker, The Supreme Commander of the Union of Dawn. A man at the age of 30, He was a man reaching 6 feet in height and a muscular yet thin body with a powerful crimson eyes which can make anyone feel a powerful pressure which can make their souls feel pure despair.

His hair was pure black as with his crimson eyes he seemed like a being from chaos the infinite void of darkness.

He was feared across the Empire and the world in itself as he was known to be a cruel man who would kill anyone who stands in his ways as there was 0 ounce of mercy from his heart as cities after cities, the rich fall on the streets one by one as a corpse whenever he arrives.

Perhaps he has hated the rich but he does the same to the poor who opposes him as he doesn't have any indifference when it comes to murdering.

He doesn't enjoy it though as he always seemed bored or just isn't interested enough to care to even shed a tear for those who have died as for him what valued most was the objective to get the job done whether it's killing scores of people or giving the people a better life.

The Union of Dawn was established 20 years ago by him as he travelled across the world to collect 4 Generals.

The 4 Generals were so powerful he nearly defeated Empire and Rhodes but something happened which made the Generals leave Europa as that gave the Empire a chance to strike us as we lost a lot of territories as we retreated and retreated as the last remaining stronghold was this factory once belonged to an household called Winchester.

His eyes were always bored but pressuring as Ramsey thought while watching Allen slowly walk towards the table.

He slowly opened the roll and checked the words written in the paper as after taking some minutes he just placed it down. Ramsey and Charlie could see the man infront of them sighing as if he saw something disappointing.

" Ramsey... It seems they are planning something.." Allen said as the man turned his gaze onto both of them..

" Oh, What shall we do now.. " Ramsey said after hearing the words of Allen as it seemed the enemy has made a move against them.

" I need you to go to Brittany, Take Charlie as well.." Allen told Ramsey with an inscrutable face as if there was absolute 0 emotions behind those words uttered by that man.

" Ohhhh we gonna go to Brittany, that's nice it'll be like an vacation right Ramsey.." Charlie spoke with a gleeful expression as he was excited to know they can leave the Factory and visit new places.

" Charlie... Leave, Go and wait for me outside.."

" But why Ramsey..."

" Charlie go....GO NOW..."

" Not fair... Hmph.." Charlie walked out of the room after hearing the words of Ramsey.

" You didn't had to do that to Charlie.."

" No.."

" What.."

" I said no.."

" Hmm, yes you said no... So?.."

" No means no Allen, we are not leaving the factory to Brittany.."

" Hmm, why so.."

" I do not wish to do anything dangerous and i have to protect Charlie so no we are not going to Brittany.."

" Ramsey, Stop looking down.. look at my face and tell me.."

" I don't care Allen, you saved me and Charlie 10 years ago sure we are grateful but no no no... I am not one of your Soldiers to kill on your behalf... You should send one of your 4 generals instead of us... Am sure they can easily murder everyone on that island..."

" The generals are busy... One is hunting the greater dragons, while the other is still in murim and the remaining two are well having other missons..."

" Why would you send your 4 strongest soldiers, who can easily flatten the whole of Europa to do some unwanted things... Isn't over mission to save europa from the Rhodes.."

" That is why i am here in this factory leading our attacks against them the Rhodes...."

" That's too much... When you saved me and Charlie from the onslaught of the Rhodes 10 years ago, i saw you like an angel send down from the heavens to save us but.... No no you were too brutal.. you massacred cities, raping and just killing everyone..."

" Sometimes you just have to do the dirty work.."

" It was way too much... The cities were left with streets filled with corpses.... It was so brutal.."

" Well, Do you think we can defeat them with care and compassion..."

" those are better than fear and brutality.."

" Ramsey, Fear has its on importance.... Just like how love gives value to things, fear ensures humanity always strengthen itself as in a way it helps humanity to achieve wonderful things out of making things to kill others and protect ourselves and it also ensures that you can rule without anyone questioning and fear also makes the ones in power tremble as the fear of losing power... I simply mean to use that fear to my advantage and show those who stomped on the weak what it means to feel absolute and true fear.."

" Allen.... You are going too far and i shall not support you as i never did..." Ramsey untill now didn't even try to look at the face of the man whose infront of him.

" it's fear Ramsey, it's fear which makes you avoid not look at my face... but the reason i want to send you specifically towards Brittany is that you are from there..."

It was fate or maybe not as 10 years ago on a coastal Village of Brittany at the eastern part of the isles.

Perhaps we should have done what they asked for as the king's men came, as the king's men were the king's guards who were comprised of knights from different houses chosen by the houses to be send to become the guard the king.

They were tasked with doing many dirty works and one of the money dirtiest work was to collect beautiful brides for the king.

The king was a lustful man after all as the knights came for the most beautiful girl in our Village, they asked for her but she was my beloved as we were both 16 then as she rejected it so did her father.

The knights didn't take the answer well as they said they'll return tomorrow for a better answer or else something bad will happen.

Her father was the chief of the village and the strongest man available in the village as the rest were either too young or too old or too weak he prepared for a battle all alone to defend his daughter's freedom which he didn't wanted give up to fill a lustful man's lust.

But fate is cruel so cruel as the knights didn't wait for tomorrow but returned after 8 hours as they were intended on murdering.

Her father the chief fought them to defend his daughter's honour and his village as he was willing to die but he fought and fought even after losing his limps as the villagers were escaping as he fought for hours just to defend them his people as on his way to the afterall he dragged 16 out of 20 knights with him.

It took them nearly an entire day to finish him off, a man who fought with his entire body even after losing limps.

Perhaps defending his daughter's future and freedom instilled strength to him as he was a father after all as there are some good fathers out there but there was no where to escape too as more knights arrived to just surround us.

Unlike last time, they demanded all the women except the elderly as it was because they were disrespected.

The last of the men even if they were weak gathered around the women as from children to the old where ready to fight as the knights could only laugh at seeing unarmed men ready to fight as the odds were 143:34 as the knights were infact outnumbered but they were trained to kill unlike the villagers who weren't.

I was hiding at the center because i knew death was coming but that's when i saw, my beloved the girl i loved walking out.

Her intentions was to surrender since she was the one who they demanded first but rather than accepting her surrender they simply said she won't be going to the king but instead their camps were 300 knights will enjoy her as that was payment for letting the villagers go for which she accepted.

I didn't know why would she as i could see her tears as we all were forced to walk away as she didn't look back at us.

But they lied as they would as we were all pushed from the Cliff, perhaps i should have fought but what could i a weak bystander could do as i was a weak fodder in this cruel world who'll now die but i didn't wanted to.. maybe that urge to see her again, to save her... Maybe that's why i pushed forward to avoid from being pushed down to fall.

I ran as much as i could, as i knew they have killed my People and are hunting for me as if i was some kind of prey.

I could feel their bloodlust, they're grins but all of sudden he came... As i could only hear the screams and sounds of the blood splattering in the ground.. i ran back to see all of them on the ground.. and i saw him, his eyes those crimson eyes, those face covered with the blood of those barbaric men.

How did it happen, how did an unarmed man killed those armed knights, but i realised he could help me.

I walked over to him but those eyes, i could feel the pressure which made me look down in fear but even still with all my strength i said it, i asked him whether he could save her for which didn't respond but rather replied with his actions as he killed everyone in the base.

A horrifying sight to behold as i followed him i walked in a path of blood and corpses as he showed no mercy.

I saw hope as i followed him till i finally reached her but it was too late as she was inside a tent bare naked as it seems they bludgeoned her down there using something like a rock as i closed her teary lifeless eyes as she sacrificed her life for nothing.

A coward like me couldn't even protect someone i loved... At that moment all i could do weep and scream as i screamed on her ears...

I love you... Wishing she could have heard it as i truly felt my whole world came down crashing but he just grabbed my shoulders and asked..

" Would you just cry and fall into despair or prevent more girls from having the same fate like hers."

His words that made me choose to follow him to assist him in his path to save everyone no matter how bloody the path was.

But what i saw him do, the sights i have seen made me only feel disgust as i too had my hand bloodied for a cause which seemed impossible to achieve.

I saved a noble child who lost his memory after getting his head injured, i took care him and called him Charlie, Perhaps due to me Allen never have showed any animosity towards him as he can be caring to those who he believe deserve it.

" I know you think it's disgusting to have your hands bloodied, But believe me when i say Ramsey.. you have to do it if you wish to bring a change because humans are stupid.. they won't listen to you preaches... You have to make them listen forcefully and engrave it on their hearts.. love will take time but fear... Fear will do it quickly and soon they will bow down to our cause because fear will make them...the fear of losing everything..."

" such cruelty..."

" It may seem some houses of Brittany and Rhodes are collaborating, I want you to go and lead the union there as the nameless ones i send have already infiltrated the houses and they are catching up.."

" Why me.."

" Even if you have fear to look at my face and say something, you still have the balls to say what you want to say... And the fact that you are really smart enough to lead a group so yes. Go and prove to me that your ways of less violence is better Ramsey.." He said as he grabbed Ramsey's left shoulder and tapped it.

" Also i want you to leave the mainland because it's going to be filled with blood... You are too kind and i don't want you to experience such levels of cruelty in the forefront..." He walked back towards the table and sitting on his chair.

" I understand..."

" Wonderful and let's now discuss about the things you have to do there.. "

Meanwhile at the City of Berin the Capital of the Empire,

" Send Rodriguez, He'll kill those mongrels who call themselves the union..."

" Apparently Rodriguez is busy dealing the with Tsar on the eastern borders so we cannot pull him from there or else the slavs would enter the borders lead by their Tsar..."

" At this point we are being attacked by both sides... Things look very troubling.."

" All we need is an extra hand in dealing with those rebels.."

" Where can we get them, our forces are already way to stretched and those rebels are cutting the supply routes with raids disrupting our logistics.."

" What else can we do aside from worrying as we can lose at any time, Do you have any plans Rhodes as you ask us to not worry..."

" Yes, I very much do.. I've already made contacts with some new temporary allies in the west who are very much happy to assist and we will surround there base the Winchester Factory soon.." The man said with a gleeful smile while looking at the rest of the nobles of the Empire.
