ENCOUNTER (SHORT STORY) BL

In a world filled with wary and scary eyes; a crowd dripping of noises and aches, I found him.

I saw his eyes brightened in admiration of the holder. The key holder daggles in his hand as he tilted his neck over it.

Oh! My poor heart.

I fluttered from a corner. I wished he could hold the key to my heart just like that. I hoped for a connection; I want to know him.

"Watch it!" The irritated bookseller screamed.

"I am sorry."

I quickly lowered to pick up the books I pushed down while dreaming of owning the stranger boy.

Own? I must be nuts. Except I love to dream high.

My unwavering dreams got me here; a new scholarship student of Weteros College makes his dreams manifest. I live for nothing but dream all my life. And it won't be bad dreaming to have such a handsome boy.

"Do you need help?" I heard the voice.

I lifted my face to see my dream boy smiling at me.

"Oh!" I staggered into the books, causing more scatter and yells from the bookseller.

"Are you ok?" He asked and this time, giggling and looking all charming.

"I..." I made to stand but stumbled back to the ground.

"Here," he stretched out his hand. "I will help you up."

I took his hand and from that moment, I knew I found the one. I met my better half in the most embarrassing situation. But it is perfect!

"I am, Jason." He introduced. "Stand here while I get those books."

He arranged the books in a pile and on a simple lift, he placed them back on the table.

"Oh my!" The bookseller became kind and loving. "You are stronger than you look."

"Thank you," he smiled. "We will be on our way."

We? He said we?!

"C'mon cute boy," he winked at me. "Let's shop together."

No, I didn't come to shop. I only came to get a new pair of shoes for my new school tomorrow. But if spending the money on every unnecessary thing in this local market can keep me with him all day, I will. I will enjoy it until I go back home to face my old man.

"Do you have a name?"

"Me?"

He laughed at my fidgeting nerves and to make it worse, he lifted his hand and ruffled my hair.

"I could give you one," he smiled. "Rays," he blurted out. "I will call you, Rays."
