"F-Father! What happened?!" Nathan asked with a rough breath after running through the large mansion.

"It seems our rivals have decided to ally and strike at our properties. They are currently in pursuit, and we won't be able to hold out much longer. But don't worry, I've got a plan." Nathan's father replied and stood up, grabbing a few 9mm bullets from his desk and loading a magazine.

"Father! How could this happen? What about the Bolt family? Can't they help us??" Nathan continued worried seeing his father loading magazines.

"Son, I'm afraid they have also betrayed us. However, they will not kill us without a price." He said and grabbed another Glock-19 from under the table and gave it to Nathan.

Nathan quickly loaded the gun and put it inside the hidden gun holster on his side.

"Come with me," His father said and walked out of the large office to meet with his mother.

They continued walking down the halls of the mansion and gathered as many men as they could to prepare for an incoming attack on their huge compound.

A few minutes later, Nathan's mother Sophia joined them and started preparing for an evacuation. The guards followed after the family members with guns drawn ready to protect their lives.

"Gate 1 to Head actual, do you copy?" The static voice on the radio said, waiting for a reply.

"This is head actual, report," Nathan's father replied hesitantly.

"Numerous vehicles approaching, permission to engage?" The static voice continued before gunfire rang out.

"Gate 1, fire and use everything you've got! I don't want a single one beyond the first line of defense!" Nathan's father ordered and put the radio back.

Most of the Zara family associates are ex-military. Therefore, they use more militaristic communications.

After the radio communication ended, gunshots could be heard in the distance, reminding the family to pick up the pace.

They eventually exited the mansion and entered a hidden tunnel system only known by high-ranking members. And followed it until they were met with the coast.

They planned to escape by boat. However, that would never happen as they were met with 30 people waiting for them.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the legendary Michael De Zara!" A man said, laughing surrounded by heavily armed men.

"Jack Bolt, how dare you!" Michael exclaimed in fury, seeing his closest partner after the betrayal.

Although Michael had a dozen or so armed guards, he still couldn't risk angering the man. Not only was his loved wife beside him, but his son and heir of the family was close behind him.

"Michael, I must say this is quite the property you've got, tunnels and a coast filled with boats waiting to be used for my disposal!" He shouted out loudly and started snickering, taunting Michael.

"Don't beat around the bush.. what do you want?" Michael said and waved to his guards to lower their weapons.

The guards seemed hesitant but eventually gave in to the order given by their "master."

"It's simple, give me your wife, and you're free to go!" He coldly replied and looked at Sophia with a lustful gaze.

"How dare this pig look my mother's way!" Nathan murmured and gazed at Jack with a murderous look, ready to torture the man.

"You fu -" Sophia said, trying to insult the carefree man before being stopped by her husband.

"Stay out of this...please," Michael reluctantly replied and stepped forward to try to negotiate properly.

"Step back!" A bulky guard shouted out loud and pointed the AR-15 Michael's way.

"I'm a harmless man, Jack," Michael said, trying to ease himself closer and closer to Jack.

However, it wouldn't work as Jack was equally as cunning and cowardly.

"Take another step, and you're dead, I'm serious," Jack said and waved to his guards to aim at the seemingly harmless family.

"I can give you anything but my wife," Michael

continued looking for a solution to the negotiation.

"Really?..If so, give me your son," the man replied quickly, expecting this situation to fold out.

"This bastard dares? My father will obviously decline, " Nathan thought and sent a look his father's way.

A few minutes went by, and all of the pressure was on Michael and his son.

"What is father thinking? It's already been 5 minutes, and he's still contemplating about the offer? Ridiculous!" Nathan thought and looked at his beautiful mother searching for an answer. However, she would not give the reply he was looking for.

It felt like time was stopped for the father and son, but eventually, Michael spoke.

"I.. accept, however, promise to not attack me and my family ever again, " He said in a clearly not sad tone. His face was still, cold and calculated.

"How dare you!! You're selling me off in exchange for your life? Fucking coward!" Nathan exclaimed in anger and disbelief looking at his father.

"A father is supposed to protect! Not abandon his child" He continued trying to get a reply from his parents hoping Michael was joking.

"Nathan I am sorry however this is for the family. Your sacrifice will undoubtedly save us" Michael replied avoiding eye contact.

"For the family?? FOR WHAT? WE ARE DONE THERE IS NO FAMILY! ARE THE OTHER FAMILIES SIMPLY GONNA LET YOU GAIN INFLUENCE IN THIS PATHETIC STATE!?!" Nathan asked and approached the stupid man in his eyes.

"Father.. no Michael! You are a disgrace and all of our ancestors will curse you after my death. " Nathan said before trying to punch his father in the face.

But Michael was not one to be underestimated. He dodged the weak and slow punch coming for his face. And a strange silence went by before Michael kicked his son silencing him.

"You are merely spouting nonsense, Boy you have done nothing for the family! If I'm alive I will simply make another heir" Michael said bluntly to his son.

While the scene unfolded his mother let out a few tears and avoided Nathan's gaze like a puppy ordered by her owner to not do anything.

"Wow, aren't you quite the cold one! Michael, even I wouldn't abandon my own blood" Jack said after watching the scene almost out of a movie.

Jack was expecting a reaction from Michael however he simply stood still and looked him right in the eyes.

"Hmm, alright I accept so come over here boy" He continued after thinking for a few seconds.

"Do they look at me like a child? I'm no fucking pushover!" Nathan thought and slowly started walking over to Jack.

"Even if I die today I'll make sure that bastard comes with me" Nathan thought and turned around to look at his father one last time.

"Even if I die today your going with me you fucking disgrace!" Nathan shouted and took out his gun to aim at Michael.

He pressed the trigger 3 times before suddenly being dropped to the floor.

"What a foolish attempt, is this what I taught you boy? Michael asked and looked at Nathan bleeding out in front of him.

"F-fuck.. I-I c-couldnt even kill him.." Nathan thought and gazed at his father with hatred.

"F-F-Fuck..you!" Nathan said before going unconscious and eventually dying.
