Chapter 46

(Next Day)

It was a new day and Kyoshi split ways with Inmu and Habuki. They however, had to go back because in the mist if everyone that happened they didn't complete their mission.

Anyways, Kyoshi was now alone on his journey looking for the Blue Spider Lily. He already called Blitz to send word to the Infinite Castle about the meeting he and Shinobu arranged in a week.

He expected to be called back some time within the day, but he was fine with that.

Currently, he was on his way to Rin's position since he had to inform her about the meeting. He knew she was hiding out from the sun in a nearby village in some mountains.

He was already running through the forest at the base of the mountain when he started to hear something.

"Crying?" He muttered.

He looked around and expanded his senses till he was able to hear it better. With a general idea of where it was coming from, he ran towards it. As he got closer he could hear them begging to be saved.

As he was coming through the trees his vision wasn't blocked anymore and he saw a mansion in an open field. A few yards next to it was a road he could've took instead of going through the forest like a monkey.

"What the hell is going on." He said with a sigh as he stepped out from the forest.

He saw a little kid, maybe 8 or 10 years of age with an anxious look on his face. He had brown hair and hazel colored eyes along with a blue haori being worn over a light green iromuji kimono with white juban under it.

At his feet was a young man with sunflower yellow hair which cuts off at the end and fades into a dark orange.

He wore a paler brown version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, which consists of a dark brown gakuran jacket, a white belt around his waist and hakama pants that extend, as well as a white-triangle patterned, yellow and orange gradient haori.

As well as this, he also sports a pair of Kyahan, tied at the front in 3 white bows, with the same pattern as his haori, pale brown tabi socks and white-laced zōri.

"D-D-D-Demon!!" The demon slayer yelled as he pointed towards Kyoshi.

The boy looked at Kyoshi and then back at Zenitsu who was cowering at his feet and ran towards Kyoshi. He saw Kyoshi carried a sword with him, so he figured he was a demon slayer.

"Mister, please help my save my brother!! They're trapped in the mansion with a demon!!" The boy said with a cry.

"I see. What's your name?" Kyoshi asked the boy.

"Shoichi." The boy answered.

"Alright, I'm Kyoshi. Let's get going then." Kyoshi said as he walked into the mansion. He looked back at Zenitsu and saw he was sleeping. Kyoshi sighed and continued into the mansion.

"So, was that guy really a demon slayer?" Shoichi asked.

"Yeah, I don't know how he got pass final selection, but yeah. He's a demon slayer." Kyoshi answered.

"Eh? But isn't he too cowardly?" Shoichi asked.

"Yeah, but who cares. Let's find your brother and get out of here." Kyoshi replied as he opened a room door.

Once the door opened they stepped through it and heard a low echoing sound. Suddenly the door closed and the room was flipped around.

Kyoshi was able to cover Shoichi and land on his feat as he looked around.

"That was weird." He stated as he let go if Shoichi.

"Stay close to me since a demon's close by." Kyoshi said, receiving a nod from Shoichi.

Kyoshi could could sense the aura of three demons and three demon slayers in the mansion. Along with that, there was the scent of some rather nice blood.

Well that's downplaying it. The blood smelt amazing. It was definitely Marechi. Kyoshi walked towards the door to his left and kicked it down. He was in a dark hallway covered in slashes.

The scent of the demon that was hear still lingered around the corner so he followed it. He could hear footsteps throughout the mansion along with things breaking.

There were some grunts, but loud footsteps were heard coming from his right and as he looked over, some guy with two blades broke through the wall.

He wore a boar mask and was shirtless with a pelt around his waist. He zoomed down the hallway and seeing this, Kyoshi was rather surprised and excited.

"Hold on Shoichi." Kyoshi said as he pucked the boy up and chased after him. He closed the distance between them rather fadt and just as they were about to turn the corner an arm swung at them.

The guy wearing the boar mask leaned back and slid under the arm while Kyoshi drew his sword and sliced the arm into little peaces.

Once he was completely around the corner, he saw the demon and sneered. It was big and ugly with green skin and a small horn on its forehead.

"Ew."

Kyoshi vanished and appeared behind it as its head was sliced off easily. His body started having huge gashes on it as it started falling apart and fading into mist.

Kyoshi sheathed his blade and put Shoichi down as he heard a yell. He ducked under a slash from the kid in a boar mask and quickly threw a punch to his stomach.

The boy flew into the roof as he coughed up some blood. His mask cane off and showed a boy with a more feminine face and black hair that faded into a dark blue at the bottom.

As he was coming down, he put his swords forward as he rolled like a wheel. Seeing this, Kyoshi quickly grabbed Shoichi and vanished as the boy slashed huge chunks of the wooden floor.

"What's up with you. The demon is already dead." Kyoshi said.

"So what? Fight me!!" Inosuke said with a yell as he dashed forward. Kyoshi took note of how low he was and stood in front of Shoichi as he got into a fighting stance.

Instead of waiting for him to come over, Kyoshi flash stepped and met him halfway whoch shocked Inosuke because he couldn't even see Kyoshi's movements.

He slammed his knee into Inosuke's face with enough force to hurt him, but not break his skill. Inosuke's head recoiled back and Kyoshi grabbed him by the neck as he lifted him up and punched him in the jaw.

He then threw him through the wall into another room. He signaled for Shoichi to follow him down the hallway as he planned to leave the guy there, but then he sighed as he leaned back a bit as he came flying through the wall in front of them with his mask back on.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!" Inosuke yelled as he charged forward. Kyoshi ran in front of him and hit the ground low, tripping Inosuke as he grabbed his ankle and threw him down the hallway, making him burst through a door and into another room.

He looked at the swords on the floor and balled his fist up before punching them on the sides. It took a moment, but the blades shattered along with the floorboards beneath the swords.

"Wow Mister. You're really strong." Shoichi said as he stared at Kyoshi in amazement.

"Yup, anyways let's find your brother. I believe he's this way." Kyoshi said as they turned another corner.

They saw down the hall was an open door and in the empty room was a scared looking boy that looked just like Shoichi but older.

"That's him, my older brother!!" Shoichi said loudly. The boy looked over towards Kyoshi and Shoichi as a smile grew on his face. Seeing this, Kyoshi and Shoichi made there way over there, but as they were coming down the hallway, from the hall on their left a demon was running towards them.

Behind him was a boy with yellow hair. He stood in a stance pointing forward like an arrow with his head low.

He took a sharp breath and to everyone but Kyoshi, he vanished before appearing on the other side of the hallway. The demon that was running away had its head severed as it flew into the air turning into red mist.

Zenitsu sheathed his blade and dropped to the ground…asleep.

They stared at him for a moment before Shoichi ran into the room with his older brother and they hugged each other.

"I thought you were dead!!" Shoichi cried.

Kyoshi looked towards Zenitsu as he hummed in thought.

The guy's a coward, that's definitely a fact. Then again he's fast, but not as fast as the hashira. Maybe with more training and experience he could do something amazing.

If he was a demon he'd be quite powerful.

Then there's the other guy. He felt Inosuke was just a numbskull with no brains and he wouldn't be useful at all.

Well he has endurance. The knee to the head should've been enough to knock him out, hell, even the punch to his stomach should've done it. When Kyoshi punched him, he felt an impact on some of his guts.

The guy definitely had some internal bleeding, but he was still able to fight.

'Okay so we've killed two demon, found the two regular kids and now that leaves one more demon slayer and one more demon.'

After getting his thoughts together, Kyoshi threw Zenitsu and the KO'd Inosuke into the room with Shoichi and his brother and closed the door after telling them to stay quiet.

He already knew where the two of them were and got there quickly and saw what was going on.

Standing inside one huge room that had doors to another room opened and connected was a familiar demon.

"Yo, Kyogai." Kyoshi said as he tapped his arms.

Kyogai flinched as he looked next to him in shock.

"What are you doing here?! Was it Muzan?! I just need a bit more blood and I promise I'll-"

Before he could get his words out, Kyoshi shot out a tail in front of Kyogai's neck which blocked the strike from Tanjiro.

He then flung him back into a wall and peeked into the room.

"Nah nah, nothing like that. I was on the way to get my student and just so happen to come across here. What's up?" Kyoshi asked.

"Demon slayers keep coming into my home, but no matter how many I eat I'm not getting any stronger." He said with frustration clear on his face and voice.

"I see. Well just chill out for a while. I have a deal going on with the demon slayers so I'll let you know what's going on then. I'll see if you can handle some of my blood later. How about that?"

Kyogai and Kyoshi weren't extremely close, but they were cool. Kyoshi met him a few times and as it would turn out the guy actually had extreme anxiety both as a human and demon.

Some times him and Kyoshi would just chill and talk since his mansion is in quite a nice part of the forest.

Kyogai looked at Kyoshi and bowed deeply as he thanked him. Kyoshi tapped his shoulder and told him it was no problem, but he wanted to speak with the demon slayer alone.

He also told him to let those other guys go since he wanted to offer them something. Kyogai understood and left the area.

Kyoshi walked in and closed the door behind him as he looked at Tanjiro.

"Been a minute since I last seen you. How you been?" Kyoshi asked.

Tanjiro didn't answer, but the look on his face was a mix of disgust and horror. Tanjiro could smell demons because his nose was better than a dogs as he was able to tell a demon from a human because of their smell.

The stronger the demon, the stronger the stench, whoch meant they killed and ate lots of people. The stench from Kyoshi filled the room so much so that Tanjiro felt like he couldn't get a breath of fresh air.

"Well don't answer, but you're coming with me. My gramps wants to have a word with you and the demon you travel with."

"Why would I ever go with a demon?! I'd rather die than-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Kyoshi vanished and chopped him in the neck, effectively knocking him unconscious.

"That was easy."
