Chapter 1Descendant of Light

Before I was even born, my fate was decided. I can never be a normal human, nor do I want to. Who am I? What am I? Let me tell you a little story... a story that defines the core of humanity...

A long long time ago there used to be six beings of divine nature. Three were terrifying Lords of Darkness and for the salvation of all existence, there were three Gods of Light. As the Divine beings battled for the fate of the world and beyond, the heavens remained embroiled in chaos of war, the Gods relentlessly suppressing the Dark Lords from leaving the heavens to bring ruin to all mortal life.

And thus the last battle of the Divine Beings came forth. The Gods and the Dark Lords clashed in an ultimate battle to end all battles. However, unbeknownst to the Gods, the Lords of Darkness had managed to breach the walls of heaven partially, thus sending forth an unstoppable horde of demons to the mortal world.

As the Gods and Dark Lords fought a grueling battle that lasted for time unknown, the mortal world was being razed to the ground by demons they had never seen before. Eventually the Gods emerged victorious by their righteous strength. The reign of Darkness was finally over. Two of the three Dark Lords were utterly defeated. The last remaining Dark Lord, greatly injured, tore through the walls of heaven and fled to the mortal world.

The Gods pursued after the remaining Dark Lord as they descended from the heavens down to the mortal world. What they saw in front of their eyes was something unimaginable. The world burned. The sky burned, the land burned, once beautiful oceans of the world had turned dark and bloodied red. All beasts and birds had perished, demons walked everywhere and death was all one could see. Standing on their last legs, billions of humans had been reduced to a meager few thousand, scattered and facing endless hordes of demons.

Shocked and horrified by the ruin they feared for all eternity, the gods set foot in a fortified mortal settlement. For the first time the gods met the mortals they fought so long to protect. Humans they called themselves and the world itself was known as earth. As the Gods approached them, what surprised them were the bright smiles that greeted them. Even in the face of doom, they smiled as they welcomed the Divine Beings. Kindness in their eyes, but also a defiant strength the gods hadn't expected to see. All members of the same race, that had blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin and tall stature, yet they took in and treated and cared well for people from other races and settlements who had been rescued from the demons. The gods saw humans working together to face problems and attempting to live a certain resemblance of life. Even with their limited resources, the gods were treated as esteemed guests and never let to feel the lack of anything. The humans knew they were all doomed already and that they cannot win, yet they refused to give up.

The Gods couldn't believe they had let these humans face such terrible fate. They decided. They decided to save the humans once and for all. Even if it meant they could never return back to the heavens, even if it meant they could no longer exist as they did. In a final bid to save humanity, three grand spells were casted. The gods summoned all power from the heavens for one last divine act that changed the world.

With their first and most powerful spell, all demons in the world were purged at once. Their second grand spell broke apart a great part of the land to purify it and restore it for human life, ridding it of all that corrupted it. The valleys were green again, the oceans surrounding the land were beautiful and blue, rivers of pure water flowed, birds flew again, beasts roamed the land, and the sun rose again, shining through the darkness of the ash clouds that no longer remained.

Realising that the last surviving darklord was still alive out there and that the gods themselves had nearly exhausted all their power, they decided to repay humanity the price they had paid for the mistake of the Gods. With the final spell, consuming their own energy, gods dispelled their form, will and mind to give humanity the gift of magic. The demons would return, but now the humans will have the power to fight and defend themselves.

As the race of blonde, blue eyed humans looked with sadness and gratitude towards the gods who were slowly fading away, the gods realised their newfound love for these humans in their last moments. Their first and final act of love, the gods gave their last remaining power and all their divinity to these people. The greatest gift of all. The magic of the gods, Light Magic. The most effective magic against Darkness. It's said the very life force of the gods continue in these gifted people. Thus called the Descendants of Light.

My Name is Liam Everhart and I am a... Descendant of Light.

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

The convolution of worlds are govern by a set of gods, each god is given a world to rule and there can be skirmishes between them – as a result of one between Nexus, the god of trickery and a senile old hag Elliot reincarnated into Ul’Tra-el by mistake. Ul’Tra-el is a world that grew a voice, because of this voice, it began to take a different path from other worlds -- it was filled with a core anomaly – rifts. Dimensions began to leak into each other, vomiting outrageous monsters. In response or as an auto-correction to such anomaly, talents were awakened in the inhabitants of Ul’Tra-el and they gained tremendous power, for every rift they close down, they were rewarded massively by the voice of the world called Ul. In a hardcore world like this one, our MC (Northern) reincarnated as a talentless individual but in the face of a death and a head splitting revelation... ...when all hopes seemed lost. {System Notice} Your Soul cannot take a form Searching for Unique pattern ability for your soul searching... search found. Unique System ability has been found... Unique System Ability [CopyCat] has been gained. Awakening Unique ability... Northern gained a talent copying system! ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

The Author's POV

The person whom the world revolves around. The person who defeats all of his opponents, and ultimately gets the beautiful girl. The sole existence all villains fear. That is the protagonist. What about me? As a failed author who had only one success throughout his whole career, I had reincarnated into my late novel. "This is it" I thought, as I tightly clenched my fist. Did I just get reincarnated in my own novel? Is this where I reincarnate in a novel and become the protagonist? No. Sadly it's not that kind of novel, as I reincarnated as a mob. The world doesn't revolve around me. The girls don't come flocking towards me. The cheat items don't come to me. "Phew" I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god I'm not the protagonist" I joyfully shouted as tears streamed down my cheeks. Wait, are you curious as to why I don't want to be the protagonist? I did forget to mention the most important thing when I was describing a protagonist. That is... They are calamity magnets. I just died. If I learned something from that, it's that it really isn't a pleasant experience. If possible let me live a long stable life. Thank you, whoever reincarnated me. I would later come to regret these words... ======== Reader Disclaimer : Please read the *Read before reading novel* in synopsis. ======== Credit to _oinkchan for helping me find the previous novel cover Credit to Rengoku for his amazing edit of the new cover. ======== Discord : https://discord.gg/FNAKgfyky4 Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/TheAuthorPOV
