Matchmaking

When they were in the car towards Grandma's Recipe, Hiro seemed to fight against himself.

He wanted to say something, but he hesitated. Several times he ventured himself, opened his mouth to speak but not a sound comes out, as if his heart does not allow him to speak.

"Boss..." Hiro stopped his sentence; he thought of the exact sentence he wanted to say next.

Mel looked at him, who was silent as if he was thinking something. She did not look away; she waited for him to finish his sentence.

"I have to go back to Tokyo." He said with a low tone.

"WHAT?" Mel surprise. "Why do you suddenly want to go home?" Since working as her assistant, this is the first time Hiro wants to return to Tokyo. Is there a problem with his family? Why does he want to go home when there are many important projects in progress? And at this time, she is not ready to publish her identity as the sole founder of MT Group.

Hiro saw Mel's face suddenly turn panicked. He immediately choked; he realizes she misunderstood what he has said.

"Boss... please don't misunderstand me. I went back to Tokyo only for a day. Mother told me to come home for matchmaking."

"WHAT?" Mel is shocked even more after hearing what he has just said.

During this time, she has never seen Hiro attracted to the opposite sex. Even several times, she thought he was gay. Now he has agreed to meet the woman chosen by his mother? What's changed?

"Do you agree? I thought you only liked your kind?" Mel giggle unwittingly.

Hiro's face suddenly turns cold; he was angry.

Mel chuckled, seeing the sudden change in his face.

"Ms. Melanie Tanner, can you be more serious? Please, stop teasing me," he said coldly.

Mel stun to hear Hiro calling her name. She hasn't heard Hiro calling her like that for a long time. She closed her mouth tightly. Her eyes were still looking at him.

A second later,

He took a deep breath and then continued to say, "I disagree with this matchmaking. But I have to go home to explain it right away. If I didn't come home, Mother will fly and bring the woman here." Hiro glanced at Mel. Then he chuckled. "You know my mother, right? She won't give up if I don't give a reasonable answer."

Mel chuckled.

She could imagine Mother Nakayama, who she considers her mother, coming to town J to bring woman as a wife for Hiro. If that happened, City J's calmness and peace would be disturbed by an uproar from an Old Lady. Hiro surely won't be able to work quietly. Her heart rippled just thinking about it.

"So, do you have a plan?" Mel asked him.

Mel already knows this. Several times Mother Nakayama called her to gripe. She worries that her son is not interested in the opposite sex and chooses to have same-sex relationships.

Mother Nakayama stressed because Hiro is not young anymore. He is now 27 years old. So earlier this year, Mother Nakayama intervened to find a beautiful and kind woman for Hiro.

'Mother Nakayama is indeed the best. She acts very fast and efficiently.' Mel chuckled, shaking her head softly.

"Why are you laughing?" Hiro shifted his gaze for a moment towards Mel. For a split second, Hiro's eyes widened. "What? Boss, you already know that Mother tries to find a woman for me?" He couldn't believe Mel betrayed him.

"Traitor. How could you..." His face looks grim. He's pissed off.

"You are mad at me?" She hadn't teased Hiro like this in a long time; it felt so good.

He doesn't reply.

She already thinks of Hiro as her brother; sometimes, they joke like siblings. But in the office, their relationship is professional, like Boss and employee.

"Brother... You know Mother is distraught because now you are almost 28 years old, but you have never had a lover? I also feel burdened every time Mother calls me." Mel glared at him.

She added, "I'm very grateful because you have been taking care of me all this time. But it would be best if you weren't single forever. You need a life partner." She glanced at him. She smiled, seeing his face become more relaxed. "You want to have your own family, don't you? Have a wife and children?"

Hiro was speechless. It has been seven years since he followed Mel and became close. So far, Hiro has never won any arguments with Mel, like now. He could never be angry for more than 30 seconds with her because he already considered Mel like his little sister.

Not only him but his father and mother have considered Mel like their own child. Hiro thinks they loved Mel more than him.

Her mother wanted to have a daughter, but she couldn't get pregnant anymore. She only has two boys, Hiro and his brother, who are now the successors of the family company. Since Mel helped his family, his mother and father decided to adopt her as their third child informally.

He doesn't want to be burdened by romantic relationships with other women. He didn't have time to think about anything other than his job. What's more, women are complicated to control.

"So, when are you leaving?" Hiro hears Mel ask, bringing him back out of his mind.

"Tonight, and I'll be back tomorrow night."

"So fast?" Frowning her forehead.

Mel remembers Mother Nakayama complaining that Hiro rarely calls her and always avoids when asked when to return to Tokyo. A few minutes Mel silent. She thought something. After a while, she said to him, "You can stay there the whole week. I'll handle all your work for a while."

"Are you sure you can do? You could expose your identity." Hiro frowned in disbelief to hear Mel wanted to cover his work temporarily.

"Are you doubting my abilities?"

Hiro shook his head. "I believe you can do it. But..."

Mel interrupted him and said confidently, "You need to make a summary of the task that I have to do. Would you mind sending it to my email? Everything will be fine. Trust me."

Hiro was speechless.

He just nods. He worried, but at the same time, he wanted to see Mel's ability to handle a new important project.
