Daemon: Charade of a thousand souls

For as long as anyone could remember, daemons have existed. They terrorized, colonized and destroyed anything in their path. Thats when they appeared, the first humans to be able to control their mana to unleash magic spells drove the daemons to the edges of the earth and with every daemon the humans killed they seemed to get stronger. Daemons were evolving at a rapid rate and when one human was killed, the first daemon to be able to control mana was born. Magic is based into four categories. Healing magic, Battle magic, Enchantment magic and support/creation magic. No man has been able to use all of the categories. Magic levels are put into acts. The greater the amount of mana applied to a spell, the greater the act. Follow Igor Dragonstead, born into the silver lining of both worlds. He slowly grows to realize the things he must protect and ones he must end. MC is a half-human half-daemon hybrid with a character type that goes from weak to strong, but with a lot of development. Side characters will be well developed and will all have chances to showcase what they have to offer. The best part of any fantasy novel (imo) is the antagonists and my book is not shy of them. I did as much as I could to make the antagonists of this novel have so much sauce that you could feel it in real time. The book should be about 200-500 chapters, no less no more. Feel free to comment on typos, errors or even your favorite chapter or character. Author notes: I’ll try to be fast and pacey when releasing new content, there will be a lot of fun moments, auxiliary chapters and hopefully you can stay for the entire ride.

Here comes Ten

Greatsdane was the collective name of all four nations, Galestadine, Nox, Leigrix, and Vancrest. However. It wasn't the only nation in the world. The other nations were spread out in the place called the "Outlands" The outlands was used to refer to nations or cities that were outside the blooming effect.

The blooming effect is a time of year when people used enhancement magic on the soil so that crops planted there would instantly form, this practice has gone on since mana was found and it won't be a stretch to say the soil has about an act five hundred worth of mana. The outlands were out of this zone and because of that, most places in it were either arid deserts or flooded wetlands. Both of which had little to no trees.

The blooming effect was also a reason plants didn't grow in the out lands, all the nutrients the soil could produce has been sucked from all corners of the world and sent into Greatsdane.

The outlands has three nations that have their own multiple cities, Tempesthiem, Fuhrerdom, and Runehill. With the last city being the last place a domain was discovered. Though each nation had its own hunters, it was very hard to compare the talent of Vancrest or Nox to one of the outlands.

People rarely visited there except for mining purposes but the population of the nations in the outlands wasn't small by any means, they had about the same amount of people Nox had if not more. Business boomed in the outlands however it was much more dangerous than Greatsdane due to the lack of a daemon hunter guild.

Team two waltzed through Galestadine, heading for the mountains to complete the search and confirm commission given to them. A team that consisted of Sven, Mael, Ashae, and Taera was definitely strong, everyone here would probably find no issues making it to C rank by the end of the month but someone always throws a wrench into the cogs of a perfectly oiled machine.

"What are we even confirming," Taera asked as she held her legs gasping for breath. On her back was the enhanced weapon "Grayfang" A giant axe that could be controlled remotely by the user.

"Any form of daemon activity," Mael answered, he too having his own enhanced weapon strapped to his waist. "I don't see anything though."

"Shouldn't someone scout ahead in times like these?" Sven asked, he too struggling to keep up.

"We need to stay together, there's no need to split up when in unfamiliar territory." Ashae laid waste to Sven's idea.

"I think once we patrol around that tree we should be done." Mael quickly ran to the big oak tree a few meters away.

"See anything?" Ashae asked and before Mael could answer someone else did.

"You won't find anything over there," A voice with an almost musical accent said. "What you're looking for isn't there anymore after all."

Ashae quickly turned back and dashed away from the voice. "Who are you?!"

"Me?" He dropped his arm on Sven's shoulder. "I'm a titan class, you can call me Jafreetz but my friends call me Fritz."

Upon hearing those words everyone's hearts froze, a titan class was this close to them and they didn't notice. Sven looked at the man whose arm was on his shoulder and his eyes were pitch black, slowly his head melted off showing a different being underneath.

"Nothing better than your own skin," Fritz said as he swung his spear. "I wasn't coming for you, but why not take the opportunity that presents itself to you."

"What do we do," Taera said as she slowly backed into Ashae. "He has Sven, he's probably using him as bait."

"I'll buy you some time, create something using support magic and get us the fuck outta here." Ashae unsheathed her katana and immediately she did, she heard the footsteps of Mael approach her.

"We are fighting that thing?" Mael asked as he unsheathed his blade as well. "We are gonna die painful deaths."

"We just need to hold it off." Ashae ran toward the lightning class and Mael followed her lead. "Stall for time."

[Battle magic act six: Gaelstrom: Furious slashes], sending a barrage of slashes at the daemon was Mael, all of which proved useless as the daemon used its immense speed to jump into the air. "Got you!" Ashae shouted as she cast her spell, [Battle magic act four: Hollow thunder], The titan class was shocked by the direct magic act. Hollow thunder directly shocked the target by enhancing the electricity in its body by a hundredfold.

"Nice, Very nice indeed!" The daemon shouted and immediately the three hunters lost sight of him.

Immediately he reappeared and both hunters shouted, Mael and Ashae instantly had a wrist each held by Fritz and the daemon spoke. "Your magic is annoying." He snapped their wrists as if they were twigs from a tree. [Battle magic act six: Inferno galore], still holding the wrists of the hunters he cast a spell that would burn them with extremely hot flames.

"Not on my watch," Sven threw four cards with an ice seal on them and by inducing mana into them he re-created the spell. [Battle magic act four: Ice prism], the fire was stopped but before it could consume Fritz, the daemon back peddled.

Throwing three more cards each with a different seal Sven cast three spells all of which were evaded by the daemon. "You pesky little brat," Fritz said as he grabbed Sven's head. "Heh." Sven laughed before casting a spell. [Battle magic act three: Violent shock]. Fritz was confused, he was getting shocked but he hadn't seen the child throw a card.

"What did you do!" Fritz said as electricity surged through his body.

"I'm not called the trap master for nothing."

"You little shit!" Fritz jumped back and immediately he did the ground underneath him exploded, courtesy of Sven. "Are you done!" Sven shouted and taera put her index finger up.

One more minute was all he needed to buy, he had dropped most of his instant trap release cards near Taera in an event that Fritz would go over there but if the daemon decided to face him directly, he would definitely die. Why? because he was out of cards.

"C'mon you dumb spell! work already!" Taera shouted and immediately Fritz heard that he dashed toward her, "Boom" Both Taera and Sven smiled as they lured him into the trap. A direct hit, Sven thought but it wasn't enough to stop the titan class daemon. It bypassed the explosions, its skin was burning but it was quickly regenerating at the same time. Fritz grabbed Taera's neck and as he was about to snap the girl's bone something grabbed his hand and tossed him aside.

"You guys did good!" A calm, encouraging voice said. "Holding out for that long against a titan class, you'll definitely get your accolades after this is over."

"Who are you!" Fritz shouted after being tossed across the area like a ragdoll.

"Oh pardon my bad manners, my name is Ten Argentine." His demeanor suddenly changed and his voice was filled with rage. "And you, you're going to understand what true pain is."

There was a small mistake where I didn't include Sven's name in the Team register in the chapter (A relaxed ambience) It's fixed now. Thanks.
