Cyberpunk: Live or Die

-Somewhere in Night City-

*the sound of slow walking in the rain*

"Fuck.....all this shit happened so fast. What am I going to do now?" The guy who said it and was walking in the middle of the rain in some alley was Jacob. He was a nomad and very popular and skillful in his gang.

Because Jacob was a nomad, he didn't often visit the Night City. You could say he was a complete outsider. Jacob was pretty beat up. He had walked some distance now, so he decided to sit down somewhere.

He sat down near garbage containers, and right next to a dead body with no head. Jacob was too tired to think about it, so he just looked up and saw sky with shiny light's coming from Night City. Jacob wanted to see the beauti of the star's because back in his nomad day's he loved to watch shiny star's on beautiful night sky.

Jacob's eye's started to close, they were almost closed and Jacob almost asleep but then he heard the sound of footsteps coming towards him. It was a woman in a full black suit and holding an umbrella. She kicked Jacobs' leg to see if he was still alive. After she kicked him, Jacobs head dropped down and he looked at her.

"The....fuck....you...want." Jacob spoke in a weak voice. The woman smiled and said something in Japanese, "Kore wa anata no kōun'na hidesu." (This is your lucky day.) Then she turned and went to a car parked nearby. She said something, but Jacob couldn't hear what she was saying, and even if he could hear them, he wouldn't understand. Then he saw two gorilas coming to him, punching him, and then he felt unconscious.

Then he took him and tossed him to the back of the car. They started to drive around the city, waiting for Jacob to wake up. "Kare o son'nani tsuyoku nagutte wa ikemasen, imakare wa eien ni nemuri ni tsuite imasu."(You shouldn't punch him that hard, now he is going to sleep forever.) Woman said with irritated voice. "Ojōsama gomen'nasai,-ji kara kiwotsukemasu."(I apologize, young lady, I will be more careful next time.) One of the bodyguards replied. "Ki o tsuketa hō ga ī."(You better be.) After that, everything went quiet, then Jacob started to wake up.

"Ugh...my head." At first he didn't see clearly, but after a few seconds he could see normally. Woman in black suit greet him and she introduced herself, "Welcome, my name is Hiro. Nice to meet you, Jacob." She took down her black glass she had. Jacob then saw her beautiful eyes. But I think he was worried about how she knew his name.

"How do you know my name?" Jacob asks, only to get her smile. "You can have all the information you want, you only need to know the right people." She replied, still smiling. "But let's get to the point." Her smile vanished and from the suitcase next to her she took a tablet, turned it on and looked at Jacob again.

"I can get you a new life." Hiro said, leaving Jacobs' mouth open, "Wha...What do you mean by a new life?!" He replied. He was so shocked that he stood up and hit his head on the car ceiling. Then he heard Hiro laugh. It was a really cute laugh, Jacob thought at that moment. Then he sat down and said really quietly "Fuck, that hurt."

He looked outside the car window, and saw the beauty of the Night City. "I don't want a new life, I already have one." he said, and was still looking outside. "Are you sure about that?" Hiro replied, Jacob looked at her and continued "You lost everything, your family, best friend, and your gang. You don't have anything." Jacob clenched his fist and his lower lip so much that it started to bleed. His frustration, sadness, and anxiety were clearly visible.

Hiro continued, "You know that I'm saying the truth. You are completely alone, but I can get you another chance." She stopped talking for a few seconds, and from her pocket she gave Jacob a napkin to wipe his bloody lip. Jacob thanked and Hiro again continued to talk.

"I can get you a chance to take your revenge for your friend. We know which gang did that." Jacobs' eyes opened and he looked at Hiro. "I can see that I finally have your full attention." "Can you really make it possible?" Jacob replied with high curiosity. "Of course I can, so what do you say?" "Will you take my offer?" After Hiro said that, Jacob leaned forward as he was sitting and grabbed his hands.

Jacobs' mind was in a shitfest. Everything happened so fast, but did he have any other options? This was his ticked to revenge, this could be his second run. Hiro could see that Jacob's eyes were full of hatred. "What do I need to do?" Jacob asked, Hiro smiled and handed him a tablet. On that tablet was an advertisement for a big fight night.

"Fight night?" Jacob asked, confused. "You are going to participate in illegal and manipulated fights." Hiro replied. "Manipulated by who?" "By us." Hiro replied immediately. "If we say you are going to lose, you will lose, and the same goes for winning." From a nearby fridge, Hiro took out some kind of alcohol, took small glass poured alcohol and put some ice in it. Then she turned to Jacob, "Do you want some too?" Hiro asked, "No thank you, I don't drink." "You are a nomad and you don't drink? "Wierd." Hiro sat down with a glass of alcohol and continued in conversation.

"Swipe to the next page." She said as she sipped from a glass. Jacob swiped and saw a contract, and saw conditions, rules, and other things, but what caught his eye was something different. Jacob looked at Hiro. "Is it true?" Jacob asked. "Yes, you will have your payment, but the size of the payment depends on how big the fight is." Hiro replied while she siped from her glass. "And the other thing is, yes, you will have your own apartment and it will be in Watson." Hiro said. Jacob signed looked Hiro and nodded his head.

"So we have a deal then." Hiro was happy it visible on her smile, after all she found a white horse for her Ilegal betting why she wouldnt be happy? Jacob sighed the contract and gave the tablet back to Hiro. She had already finished her drink and put the glass away. Jacob looked outside. The rain stopped. "Mōsugu tsukimasu."(We're almost there) One of the drivers said. "We will be there soon." Hiro crossed her legs and arms. Then a car stopped.

Hiro tosses the keys to Jacob's new home. "We will see each other tomorrow, so be ready." Hiro said, and without a reply or saying anything, Jacob stepped out of the car. In front of him was a block of flats. Around him were many low-class people and homeless people, and the same thing inside of the building. His apartment was on the top floor, so he took the elevator and was standing in front of his apartment. He opened it and stepped inside.

It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. Jacob looked around in the closet. There was some spare clothing in the refrigerator. There was food. Jacob took some food and ate it. It was the best food he had had in some time. After all, he hadn't eaten anything for a few days. After finishing his food, he took a shower, and then he put on some fresh clothes.

When he was full, showered, and had fresh clothes on him, he lay down looking at celling. He extended his hand and then clenched his fist. "I will take my chance, and I will take my revenge. I will kill you all, just see." While saying that, Jacob had a pissed off reaction on his face, then he lowered his hand and, as he was lying, he turned on his right side and fell asleep.
