Chapter 1New world

Night had fallen. The stars came out and illuminated the small town with the help of the two moons. Nothing could be heard in the whole town, it was another peaceful night.

Only the panting of a girl running through the alleys could be heard. She had silver hair that blew into the sky as she ran, and a pair of blue eyes that shone under the night sky. She wore a red robe that was also blown by the wind.

"Ha-, ha-, I am not going to let those guys take the last thing my mother left me". She said and started to run faster.

But the three masked individuals could easily keep up with her speed.

She ran through the city, ran through the woods, hoping to outrun them, but she didn't make it.

Her last option was to cross the bridge to the other side of the chasm and then destroy it so they couldn't catch her.

She followed that plan, but as soon as she was ready to cross the bridge, a fireball flew overhead and hit the bridge, causing it to catch fire.

"Tch, damn."

She tried to escape, but the three people in front of her blocked her path.

"It's time for you to hand over the book." One of them said.

"Yea, a waste like you can't possibly use it." Another one said.

"Shut up, I will never allow my mother's relics to fall into the hands of others."

"Is that so? Okay, then I guess we will have to do it the hard way." One of them said and the three stepped closer to her.

She took a few steps backwards so that she was standing at the edge of the cliff.

"To avoid giving you my mother's relic, I would rather die. Sayonara idiots." She said, taking another step backward and starting to fall into the abyss.

"When did everything go wrong? We were so happy with my mom. Why did it have to be like this? Why did they have to kill her? Just because of that damn book?"

She was about to destroy the book, but she paused. It was the last thing her mother had left her, she couldn't just throw it away.

"If only I were stronger... Then none of this would have happened. If I could cultivate like a normal person... Why should I be a waste?"

Tears began to flow from her eyes at these thoughts.

As soon as a drop of her tears touched the surface of the book, the book began to glow with a blue light.

Suddenly, a blue glowing humanoid figure appeared before the girl's eyes.

"M-mom? Is that you?"

"Yes, my dear."

"Why did you leave me alone all these years? You left me when I needed you the most."

"... I'm really sorry for that. I'm sorry I couldn't give you the life you wanted."

"It doesn't matter anymore. I'm going to die here either way."

"No, you're not going to die as long as I'm here."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, to put it simply, I'm from the future. I had the ability to travel between timelines. That's how I met your father. Now I'm going to open a portal for you to travel to the future with the last remnants of my powers. I will also give you my ability to travel through time, even though you cannot use it with your current power. I'll give you some assistance to grow faster."

"Why should I travel to the future? I'm a waste. I've been cultivating for a hundred years, and although I've had too many breakthroughs, my strength never increased."

"This is because I had put a seal on you. My little girl, your strength is far too great for this world. I can take away half of your seals, but for the rest you must find an expert from the future. But even after half of your seals are gone, you'll understand that you're far superior to all the other cultivators out there."

She walked behind her daughter and touched her back. Suddenly a golden circle appeared with some unknown ancient letters radiating a golden light.

Then the girl was also enveloped by this golden light, but not for long, because as soon as the circle dissolved, the light disappeared.

"Done, now you're officially the most powerful being in this era." She said with a smile.

"I-I feel that my body is full of power. It's like I can do anything."

"Well, keep that power for the future world, because you'll need it. That's all I can tell you now, because my time is almost up. But you can look for answers in that world. You can go to my sister, she has the same last name as me. She'll be happy to help her niece."

Suddenly a blue vortex appeared behind the girl.

"Wait mom, I don't want to lose you again. Come with me."

"I'm sorry, but I can't. I'm already dead, I'm sorry, but it was the only thing I could do to save you. Once you're stronger, you can use the time travel ability to come back. But until then, live your life in that world."

"No, Mom, don't leave me."

"Don't worry, I'll always be with you. I'll always be in your heart. But remember, my sweet little girl, you're destined for great things." She said and pushed the girl into the vortex.

The space around her blurred and she suddenly felt dizzy.

She wanted to ask her mother so much more. Who is she? Why did she come here? Why did they seal her powers? But most of all, she wanted to know if she could see her again.

But she couldn't finish her thoughts when she suddenly found herself in the middle of a street.

She looked around to see where she was.

Big buildings made of concrete, a few metal carts that weren't pulled by any animal, roads made of a material that wasn't stone, and on top of the buildings was a square box with people in it.

"What the hell is this world?"

While she was looking around, a metallic carriage was coming towards her at high speed, followed by another one that had a blue and red light on the roof.

She saw some other people shouting at her, "Watch out!" and "Get out of here!"

As the metallic carriage got closer and closer, she was ready to draw her sword and cut it in half, but a feeling of dismay overcame her and made her stop like a statue.

"Wait...why can't I move, why... is this happening to me, is this the end? I'm going to be crushed? That's it?"

The metallic carriage was ready to run her over, but suddenly a boy appeared and stopped the metallic carriage with a wall of ice striking it and bringing it to a stop.

The boy moved towards her while she was motionless with fright, he gently touched her hand and called out to her, "What the hell are you doing?" Are you crazy?

"I-I really don't know what's going on, I just moved here, I've absolutely no idea about this world."

"You must've hit your head, there's no other explanation."

" What was that thing coming at me at high speed, I mean that metallic carriage."

"Metallic carriage? What? You mean the car, right?"

"That thing ... Yeah, that thing, the car or whatever you call it."

"Ok...and...you were willing to cut that thing in half? How? Are you a ranker?"

W-what, a ranker? No way, I'm just a cultivator, what's the word ranker?"

"You don't even know that, who're you anyway?"

"Why would I tell you that? Mr. Unknown, I don't need anything from you."

"Look, I understand you're scared, you said you just got transferred here. It's perfectly normal to be scared, but I can help you."

"All I want to do is go back....maybe I'm dreaming, I don't know, and I feel really dizzy right now, maybe this is all just absurd."

"I don't think you're dreaming, but anyway, my name is Yashito and I'm going to help you." He said with an aura of kindness."

"I don't know if you've good intentions, but I really need answers to my questions. What's going on with this world? Is it all just a dream? The thing with the cultivators, my sealed powers, my situation with my mother, I wanted to ask her so much and she just disappeared in front of my eyes, and now it's all too much for me, and I'm afraid to expose the Sooth. So yes, it seems I'll need your help and my name is Aeryn."

"I can understand that this is too much for you, but I'll try to help you, don't worry, most of your questions will be answered, you know, I'm a good connoisseur of this world," he explained with a sense of optimism.

"That's a bit of a relief," she replied with a bright smile."

"Now, follow me. We have a lot to talk about."

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
