Chapter Forty-Eight

   Kate and Zagryus sat in silence for a moment after Cassandra left. Kate pulled the chain up and looked at the vial filled with hydra blood, as she reached to open its top and inspect the inside when Zagryus let out a strangled sound and snatched her hand away.

   "Hey!" Kate glared at him and yanked her hand out of his grip.

   "Don't open that until we know what we are going to do with it," his eyes had a tinge of wild panic edged around the outside, "Did you not hear her?"

   "She said it could hurt both mortal and gods," she pursed her lips and looked closer at the vial, she wanted to see what it looked like but the way Zagryus was looking at her made her change her mind. She tucked it under her shirt and got to her feet.

   "How are you planning on getting close enough to Hera to use it?" he had visibly relaxed the second the vial had disappeared.

   "I need to figure out how to get to Olympus," she gave him a sarcastic lopsided grin, "Any ideas?"
