"How much?" Basil Jaak asked at the counter.
Since he was the one treating Audrey to dinner, he definitely had to take the initiative to pay.
"Sir, it's a total of four hundred and seventy-eight!" said the cashier.
"That expensive?" Basil Jaak frowned and said to the cashier, "Miss, I don't need a receipt, can you give me a discount?"
The cashier was startled on the spot. Usually, the couples who dine at a western restaurant are wealthy, and the men, in a bid to show off, would not be as stingy as Basil Jaak, let alone ask for a no receipt discount. This was her first time encountering such a situation.
"Miss, is that alright or not?" Basil Jaak urged.
The cashier blushed and hastily said to Basil Jaak, "Sir, paying taxes according to the law is the duty of every citizen. Our restaurant is a legitimate business, so there is no question of tax evasion without issuing a receipt. However, we can round the money for you and charge you four hundred and seventy."
