Technically, as the ship fell toward the gravitational point that was generated ahead of it, there were moments without pull between the gravitational waves that pulled them forward. At first, the ship seemed to vibrate horribly, in an uncomfortably familiar way. However, with Sys20si maintaining the balance, the vibrations smoothed out far more quickly than they had in Brennant's ship.
The gravitational point ahead of them was collapsing almost as soon as it was generated, and the ship was alternately falling and coasting. The human body wasn't designed to detect the lapses in the gravitational force, and like the image on a display screen, they seemed to fall smoothly once the 'drive' was in synch.
