Black Swarm

Darkness enveloped the cosmos, the occasional blast of light erupted from nowhere, only to slowly dissipate. Overseeing this slow death was a being of grand scale, it once controlled every star, every galaxy, but its fate would eventually arrive.

This being's peak was long behind it, the stars had long disappeared, the galaxies engulfed in darkness. The being had the knowledge from all it's existence stored in the large galaxy sized structure, the entire universe used to be filled with these, but those times were long past this entity.

This structure was the only reason the being hadn't dissipated, maintaining a near perfect energy field. This field utilized incredibly advanced structures that bend space-time to prevent energy from escaping. While this field was incredibly effective, time is eternal, particles would still escape.

The energy escaping was used for processing information, the entity still attempted to find a solution to its slow death, but the more it thought, the quicker death would arrive.

Dark energy had long since spread the universe apart, leaving small patches of dark matter and the last dying black holes. The strong positive gravitational force of dark matter was useful for holding particles inside the structure, while dark energy structures were formed to repel any foreign energy from disturbing the structure. These two energies had only been successfully contained, altering or interacting with either proved futile.

Once the core information started to decay the entity decided to stop all processing and turn dormant. The structure slowly traveled through the void, as particles slowly broke of and escaped over time.

After traveling for a near indefinite amount of time the structure collided with a large barrier. The traveling structure suddenly disappeared, absorbed into the strange structure.

A mysterious figure appeared over the dormant structure, appearing to pull out a small glowing lantern. The dormant structure was surrounded by a strange energy, compressing it, and bringing it into the lantern. Small cracks started to appear on the surface of the strange lantern, but a strange energy was sent into the lantern, stopping the cracks from spreading.

"This void beast is far too powerful, how did it damage my soul lantern, it was gifted to me by the ancestor himself! I need to get out of here, someone may have noticed, it would be a tragedy if someone found I was in possession of such a strong soul."

The man quickly flew away, using one of his treasures to open a spatial rift to quickly return to his sect. Several minutes passed and he was about to enter his ancestors domain he was ambushed by 3 strange men. These men forcefully pulled him out of his spatial rift, who quickly surrounded him.

"This fool really talks to himself, the formation we left on him was a great investment! Brothers lets kill this man, if we can get that soul we'll be rich!"

"It's you 3, from the elemental brotherhood! You bastards you really have gone to far, you 3 should know the ancestor favors me, I'm his personal disciple!"

"What use is using his name if we're out of his domain, he'll never hear your screams. Brothers lets kill this little bastard!"

The 3 men from the elemental brotherhood immediately attacked the man, using a joint formation attack, drastically increasing their power. The man immediately brought out his defense treasures from his space domain.

A shining set of armor appeared on the man, with a towering shield appearing in his hand. After holding up the shield cracks started appearing, weary about any more damage he quickly used his space domain to teleport out of the large beam of energy. After appearing behind the 3 men he pulled out a large sword, causing several ruptures to appear in the surrounding space.

The 3 men quickly moved out of the affected space, as cracks started forming. The man started to push his advantage, swinging his sword and causing several more space rifts. The 3 men countered by using their energy to form a large elemental dragon. This dragon started causing spatial disruptions, further destabilizing the area.

The dragon roared, emitting a terrifying gaze, which momentarily stunned the man. The dragon took the quick opportunity to tear the mans head off, but he broke free from its gaze and quickly started to teleport away. Before he was able to teleport away he was hit with a massive blast of energy, a large breath attack from the dragon struck him. After getting a fair distance away he looked down at the 3 men, he pulled out his spatial talisman given to him by the ancestor, as he knew he couldn't take these three.

The talisman opened a large space rift, which quickly moved to pick up the man. Unfortunately for the man, the residual energy from the dragon interfered with the spatial talisman, causing a massive recoil as he was violently thrown out of a massive spatial rift created by the talisman. Realizing the situation was hopeless, the man shouted,

"You bastards! If I can't have it, no one can!"

The man quickly swung down with his sword, opening a large spatial rift. He quickly threw the lantern in the rift, and promptly sealed it. The 3 men quickly shouted out in anger, promptly attacking the man. Their dragon quickly struck the weakened man, severing his right arm and destroying the majority of his organs. In his final moments the man pulled out a large amulet, and quickly activated it. His soul entered the amulet, which quickly disappeared into a nearby space rift. These space rifts were only large enough to fit a small object, so the man had prepared this amulet as a last trump card, incase his spatial talisman were to fail.

His body and the spatial domain containing his possessions self destructed after his soul left his body, causing the region to quickly destabilize and collapse. As the region collapsed the matter inside the blast radius condensed into a singularity forming a massive black hole that consumed everything within a couple million km. The 3 men had foresaw the explosion, as most experts that were brought into a corner with no hope would often try to take their attackers down with them. As soon as he brought out that amulet the 3 men had already activated their spatial treasures, bringing them back to the sect.
