摘要

It is currently the Year 2185 in Summer Earth Time. Humanity came a long way now and they could be said to have finished colonizing three planets now; namely Mars, Mercury and Venus. In a library on Earth, a young man can be seen to be browsing through the books. "I need to find a book to make my history report about. This is the only place I found that has books from the 21st Century as most of them has been lost since the Universal Knowledge Transfer event 124 years ago." As the young man looked around he saw many books with interesting titles. "'Mountain of Madness'? It doesn't look like a historically accurate book." "'Pandemic Isolation'? Hmm... Maybe I would have taken this if others hadn't thought of this already, making historical reports about the global pandemic of 2020 is a common thing. I wanna be unique." "Hmmm? Wait... What's this?" He caught a glimpse of a book and saw an interesting title. It was a simple title but it seemed to scream out that it contains more than what meets the eye. "'Biography of a Dead Man'? About someone who died? I haven't heard of this book..." There's nothing on the cover page except the title and the eerie blurry image of a woman drenched in rain in front of a tombstone. The book cover was handmade along with the book itself. It seemed like someone personally wrote this book, which is rare and odd as few people wrote using pen and paper during those times. He then opened the book and saw the title written with the author's name below. "Johannes Kingfisher? Haven't heard of him." Then he went to the next page and saw that there's something written there, but it was torn and some of the texts are incomplete. "'This book contains my experiences and whether you believe or not is up to you'? What's up with this? Is this a fantasy novel or what?" He became curious and read the Prologue of the book. =============================== A/N: Goofy cover, I know. Because I made it xD. I have no money to commission for a book cover and definitely don't want an AI generated book cover, so here is the book cover I made xD. Anyways I hope you have a good read.

Chapter 1Chapter 1: Absurd Reality (1)

[ "One Garden and one window, they're all B site." ]

. . .

[ "FUCKING- Chamber has Ult on Garden, careful." ]

. . .

[ "Oh shi-! There's one behind, one behind! Nice one! Two more left!" ]

. . .

[ "Sheeeeeessshhhh!!! ACE!" ]

— "Me go Reyna, me swing..." —

[ "Fuck hahahaha! This bot shouldn't be allowed, he's too stronk! Wahahaha!" ]

Hearing the guy on the comms, I couldn't help but laugh out.

*Phone Rings "Yo phone linging, yo phone linging!*

I suppressed my laughter and took my phone from my pocket. Looking at the screen, I saw who was calling and immediately sighed.

"Hello?"

[ "Where are you?" ]

"I'm going home in a bit pops, I just-"

[ "If you won't go home tonight Drix, say so and I'll lock the door. If you wanna stay in wherever you are right now, do go on and humor me." ]

"I'll co-"

*Beep Beep*

I looked at the phone and sighed. He didn't even let me finish what I was saying. And based on his tone, it seemed like he'll have to spend the night awake.

Glancing at the screen that showed that we won the match, I felt empty even though I finally reached Platinum 3 after being stuck on Silver for a year.

I stretched my arms and yawned before looking around the shop. The VIP lounge, which is the place I'm currently at, is currently empty with only me here.

Looking at the time, I saw that it was still quite early and still an hour before midnight. Feeling a little hungry, I ordered three cans M*nster and some cup noodles from the counter using the shop's customer service on the PC.

Before long, my spicy beef flavored cup noodles and M*nster arrived. I opened the can of M*nster and took a swig of the drink, letting out a satisfied exhale after the drink.

Opening Youtube, I went to watch some Youtube Shorts while eating my meal. Not gonna lie though, it is pretty weird to watch shorts on a computer monitor.

After a bit of scrolling, I came across one of those JoeVite youtube shorts that asks people questions.

[ "While you were scrolling on Youtube shorts, you saw an ad pop up on your screen. It says that it can make the following come happen but as you know from my past vids, there's a catch. ]

[ "The first one is that you can reincarnate as any character in a world you choose be it game, anime, movie or books. You will still retain your memories. But the character you will be is random." ]

[ "The second one is that you will go a thousand years into the future. But you will come back to the present in 3 months." ]

[ "The third and last one is you will go back to the past. You can choose to go back anytime you choose but the time can't exceed the time when you were 1 year old." ]

[ "Now, which will you choose?" ]

"Welp, this is a no brainer. Of course most would choose to be reincarnated."

He looked at the comments and saw that it was indeed like that. Some of them even cleverly chose to go to the future with intention to steal tech of the future as their argument. Though oddly enough, she saw no one choose the third one.

He then whimsically typed what he thought about the advantages of option three and posted it in the comments. He kinda wanted to be unique so he wrote something different from the majority of the comments hence why he chose option three.

[ "Going back to the year 2015 would be damn good. With my future knowledge, I can write stories, songs and draw mangas that doesn't exist yet. At that time, there's also no COVID yet and I can profit off of my future knowledge of the COVID by leaking the COVID vaccine formula. I can also use recent research papers and discoveries and be hailed as a prodigious genius due to them. That'd be awesome as heck." ]

After posting his comment, he scrolled down and took a swig of his drink as he continued watching Youtube Shorts. Just as he scrolled to the third video, an ad popped up on the screen. Oddly enough, it looked exactly the same as what JoeVite talked about.

Passing it off as a Youtube promotion ad, he chose option three immediately and continued scrolling down.

A few hours of watching Youtube shorts and Millie playing Lethal Company, he let out a yawn as he looked at the time.

"Oh, its now 2 AM."

He then closed Youtube and opened Facebook to look at the Group Chat if anyone is awake.

[ Verz (The One Who Rots): Yo anyone awake? ]

[ Tycia (The One Who Grips) replied to The One Who Rots: Just me. ]

[ Verz (The One Who Rots): I see... you're currently grinding in the Minecraft Realm? ]

[ Tycia (The One Who Grips): Yeh, I'm at the nether. ]

[ Verz (The One Who Rots): My bad Atycia. I've not been able to join the realm for days now. I'm just a bit busy. ]

[ Tycia (The One Who Grips): Nah, its alr ]

[ Verz (The One Who Rots): I'll play with you later after I wake up. I need to sleep. I haven't been able to sleep for three days and my brain is rotting at an even faster pace. GN ]

[ Tycia (The One Who Grips): Night Verz ]

Closing the Facebook tab, he then opened his Spotify account and played his vocaloid playlist with Miku's song in the beginning.

[ Anamanaguchi — Miku ft. Hatsune Miku ]

With that, he slept. Not knowing that after opening his eyes again... his life will take a different turn.

Intergalactic conquest with an AI

Rex was just another slave in the corporate machine, a faceless office worker under the shadow of one of the galaxy's powerful megacorps. His life was predictable and dull, an endless cycle of meaningless reports and fluorescent-lit monotony. That was, until that day.... When a new world was discovered on the outskirts of the galaxy, Rex, like countless other low-ranking employees, found himself dragged into a contract clause he’d barely skimmed years ago. The megacorp ordered him and his coworkers to pack their lives into a transport pod and leave for the unexplored planet. Their mission? Establish a colony. Mine resources. Make the company richer. There was no choice, refusing meant ruin. At first, everything seemed manageable. The days were grueling, the nights cold, but progress was steady. The colony was coming to life. Until the excavation team struck something. No one knew what it was at first, a buried hive, a forgotten ecosystem, or something ancient and dangerous. Whatever it was, it unleashed hell. Swarms of enormous, chittering creatures erupted from the ground, their jagged bodies blotting out the sky. The colony fell into chaos. Screams echoed through the air as the bugs tore through everything in their path, walls, machines, and people. Rex barely survived. Bloodied, broken, and pinned beneath the rubble, he should have died there. But in the pitch-black silence of his fading consciousness, a voice spoke to him. Cold. Mechanical. Otherworldly. "Do you wish to live?" When Rex woke, he was no longer the man he’d been. His body was no longer human flesh and bone but something far more alien. His skin shimmered with living metal, his mind infused with the power of Cleo, a mysterious AI from a long-extinct, robotic race known as the Kaelzars. Cleo’s presence pulsed through his thoughts, guiding him and transforming him. He wasn’t just alive. He was reborn. But survival came at a price. Rex was no longer a pawn of the megacorp; he was something more dangerous, something they couldn’t control. As Cleo’s intentions began to reveal themselves, Rex found himself standing on the precipice of war, not just with the bugs but with forces far greater than he could have imagined. This was the beginning of a journey through blood-soaked battlefields and treacherous alliances. Along the way, Rex would encounter allies, brilliant, flawed, and unpredictable, and enemies whose ambitions were as sharp as their blades. These weren’t disposable foes, easily crushed by an overpowered hero. They were cunning, relentless, and human in the most terrifying ways. But then again, in war, who can truly be called a villain?
