Between love and throne

Layla was cheerfully playing a game on her phone when she had a memo from Dela.  She quickly went to check it. (Dear little layle, I'm very sorry for not informing you earlier about my traveling to south- Korea .. honestly, I didn't know about it earlier too... please forgive me ).

Layle was shocked to read what he just sent her. she quickly replied him back.

( So when are you going?). She managed to text him back.

     Lucky for her, he replied. ( Right now I'm talking to you, I'm in a car going to the airport)

   (What!!..and when will you come back?)

(Actually, I don't know... but I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon)

   (Ooh...Dela you should have told me earlier.. maybe I can go and escort you to the airport)

(I'm sorry Layla I didn't even know that my mom has done everything for me already..but please don't worry I will try all I could to keep in touch with you please)

    (Dela I'm sorry but I don't think I can forgive you for what you have done..bye have a safe journey)

  Just then she turned off her phone and cruised to her room. She latched herself inside her room.

  A juncture later, her parents came back from their room to find the hall empty without Layla.

  "Where is she?. Becky inquired .

  " Wasn't I with you in the room?". Aaron declared.

"Layla where are you!!". clamor Becky.

   "Maybe she will be in her room".

"Yh.. let go and check". They reached upstairs to Layla's room.

  (Knock, knock). They knock on the door but there was no retort from inside the room. Aaron attempted to open the door, but it was impenetrable.

  " Is closed". Aaron said

  " What?". Becky said.

" Layla open the door now!..".  Aaron said but got no answer. Then he decided to smash the door.

  " Go back I'm coming". He told Becky to stand somewhere far a little for him to break the door.

   He tried till finally, he was able to outspread the door. When the door burst opened , she wasn't in her room. They scoured everywhere for her but they couldn't find her.

   " And why is she trying to play hide and seek with us?". There was an inkling of anger in his voice as he spoke.

   " Please come down.. maybe she is outside the house let us go and check please"

   " She should better be there"

" Yh, I hope so".

They vamoose from the room, leaving the door open.

   " Driver please drive faster I need to get there before the plane takes off...please". 

     " Okay..but young girl if I may ask, why are you in such a hurry to get to the airport? "

   " Mmm...I...my mom and dad are traveling and they forgot something very important so I'm going to return it to them before their flight takes off"

   " Ooh okay, then I will speed up now".

  In a matter of seconds, the driver sprinted up faster to get to the airport before their flight seizes off as she had told earlier.

   ( I'm sorry mom and dad but I just need to say goodbye to my friend at the airport please don't be mad at me). Layla texted her parent and off her phone.

Within a minute later, they arrived at the airport and she quickly got off the car and made restitution with the driver and he took off.

   When she tried to get inside the building, she was halted by the security from going.

   " Please I need to see..my..". ( No..if I say my parents and I couldn't say anything about them ..they won't let me in)

   " Hello Little girl what are you doing here?"

"Mmm.. please I here to return something to my friend.. please his name is Dela Jones"

    " Ooh you are Dela Jones family"

" Yes please"

   " Okay follow me".  The man in a whole black suit told her to follow him.

   (Ooh thank you, God..no wonder today happened to be Sunday..). She said to herself with a bold smile on her face.

   The man took her straight to the waiting point to see if she could find her friend.

     And why won't she find him when he is popular everywhere? She saw that almost every single soul wanted to take picture of him.

Dela happened to be a musician and had a lot of fans, but recently, he noticed something strange about himself which made him placed a stop in being popular. So his fans keep on decreasing as time goes on.

   " Dela!!!". Layla shrieked without thinking twice about where she was. All eyes turned on her. Glimpsing that, Dela quickly went to her and hugged her tightly and at the same time hid her from the pictures those people were taking.

  He brought her to a place where no one could see them.

   " What are you doing her Layla?"

" What I'm I doing here?.. are you inquiring me?. Why didn't you tell me earlier that you will be traveling?"

   " I'm sorry, but I didn't even know my Mum was doing that ..please"

   " And why are you going?".

" Is a long story and you won't understand please"

   " Tell me now"

" My flight is about to take off and I can't explain everything to you now please understand me"

   " Okay, I have heard you.."

" No..no my flight has arrived please I need to go now"

    He left her hands and hugged her again, then turned his back to wake away, but he heard something which ceased him in his steps.

   " I love you, Dela". Layla said with her already teary-eyed.

   Suddenly the clock stopped moving and everyone frozen in place.

   ( What is happening, why is everyone not moving). Layla said in her mind.

  " What did I just hear you saying?". Dela turned his face and was now facing her. But she hangs her head low. Although everything that was happening was surprising her, still it was like her dreams come true so it was normal to her.

   " Layla I also love you with my whole world..and I wish nothing bad will ever happen to you until I return ".

   " Are ..you su..re ". Layla said while cleaning her tears. Just then she felt something warm on her lips. She felt like she was in heaven. It was as though the whole world has turned into a paradise valley for her.  That was a kiss from Dela, Dela was the first person to steal her first kiss.

   "Bye, bye Layla.. remember I will always love you".

    "Me too Dela". Layla said and giggled. They wave each other and suddenly everything returns to normal.

   "Layla what are you doing over there ". She heard her mother yelling from the crowd.

"Mom...". She jogged to her and embraced her tightly while crying.

   "Mom!.. he went away and will never come back!"

"Don't worry he will come back okay"

"Are you sure mum?"

    "I'm truly sure"

Becky didn't know what her daughter was talking about, but in other to keep her calm she decided to say calm words to her in other to stop her from crying.

  The people around were having their phones straight on them. Becky was Aaron's wife so definitely, she was also an automatic superstar too. Aaron was one of the most richest person in the whole of African.

   "Sorry.. sorry about that... my daughter came to see a good friend of hers". She tried explaining to those okra mouth people there in order to shut their mouths down.

  Aaron was in the car waiting for them. He didn't want to go there, if he had done that, it would have been another issue for the media.

  Becky fetched Layla to their car and they drove home.
