Beast High

It was a dark and stormy evening. The black clouds blanketed the sky as the rain pelted the buildings and the city streets. Lightning streaked across the clouds as the course of events taking place shook the city to its very core. Carnivores and Herbivores alike scurried into the buildings for shelter, one towering building in particular being the center of attention as many animals looked on from the windows. The building being the centerpiece of the city, on the sides of it were massive letters that read 'Beast Co.; Where All Animals are Welcome.' It was there, at the top of the building, where everything was being unraveled.

On the top floor, down the hall from the elevator, is one room, the executive office. The doors are closed, but inside the room is where everything is happening. The lights have been destroyed, leaving the room pitch black due to the storm keeping the sunlight from shining through the windows.

A bolt of lightning struck, lighting up the room to reveal a massive mess. The floor is covered with papers scattered all over, chairs tossed around and busted, a massive mahogany desk on its side, looking as if it was tossed away. And standing on each side of the office are 2 creatures, the lightning revealing them covered in cuts and bruises as they're breathing heavily.

One of the creatures is a huge black dragon, his snout looking broken as it's facing at a painful angle, his nose dripping blood. His jaw is dripping blood as well, a few of his fangs missing, his expensive suit torn and covered in blood splotches, his eyes glaring angrily at the other creature.

The other creature, just as beat up is an equine with long silver mane with Ram horns, one of which is broken in half. His suit is covered in claw gashes and soaked in blood, his eyes locked with the dragon's.

The dragon wiped the blood from his lips, letting out a deep growl. "Heh, you've earned my respect, freak. No other animal, carnivore nor herbivore, has ever stood against the king of mythical beasts. I'm going to enjoy devouring you, bones and all."

The equine scoffed, spitting blood onto the carpet. "Sorry, you overgrown lizard, but you won't be eating anyone else after this. You will fall to the Changeling Prince!"

They both sneered, another bolt of lightning lighting up the room as they charged at each other letting out roars as they swung their fists, the flash of the lightning so bright it filled the room with a blinding light.

"And then what??" A small childish voice echoed. The scene slowly changes to a lush park, it's bright green grass fields stretching as far as you can see. Tall beautiful oak trees peppering the park, carnivores and herbivores alike taking refuge in the shade, laughing and enjoying the beautiful crystal clear spring skies. And in the center of a small patch of trees is a picnic area, where a teenage female sheep sits.

The little sheep is wearing a female school uniform, sitting with her legs tucked under her, looking up at the sky, the breeze feeling nice through her white wool. She had a small stack of books in her lap, one of which was opened, the story she was reading from written on the pages.

"Miss Abby! What happened neeext??" Sitting around the sheep was a bunch of young children, staring up at her with excitement in their eyes. The little sheep, Abby, looked at the children. There was a little chicken, a Labrador puppy, a tiger cub and twin Siamese kittens. The tiger cub was the one that called out to Abby, his eyes wide with anticipation. The puppy shifted in place, her tail wagging excitedly. "Yeah, Yeah! What happened next??"

Abby smiled at the children, letting out a soft giggle. "Oh! Hehe~ Sorry little ones. That's what you call suspense. Now where did I-"

Suddenly, her phone went off. Abby reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone to look at it, seeing it was her alarm going off; "Uh oh! It's time for me to get to school! We'll have to pick this up next time little ones."

The kids all gave out a disappointed groan. "But miss Abbyyyyy! It was just getting to the good paaaart!" The little tiger cub whined. Abby gave him a little wink, letting out another little giggle. "Sorry little ones, but that is what we call a 'cliff hanger'." Abby stood up, brushing off her uniform as she collected her books. She gave them all a warm smile and wave, promising to finish the story next time before heading down the road towards school.

The city was a huge metropolis, filled with huge buildings and bustling streets. The skies had birds of all types soaring around, going about their daily lives. Some heading to work, some just going shopping. Abby watched them all flying around, wondering how it would feel to be able to fly.

This lovely little white sheep is Abigail, but most people who talk to her just call her 'Abby'. She's an inspiring author, but doesn't like people reading her work due to her nerves. She considers her 'head in the clouds' personality her best quirk about herself, as she likes to look at things from a different perspective.

This world is filled with animals of all types of carnivores and herbivores, as well as some…self proclaimed perfectionists that call themselves 'Mythical Creatures', meaning Phoenixes, unicorns, dragons and so on. They see themselves as 'Natures Gift from God', so they like to force themselves above all other animals.

As Abby neared the school, she saw a bunch of other animals heading inside, but one of which was standing in front of the school, greeting as many as she could. Abby could feel her cheek wool warming as she saw the beautiful creature, an Alicorn, smiling as she welcomed as many students as she could.

This Alicorn has a jet black coat with orange colored mane and tail that slowly ends into a bright yellow coloring at the tips, same with her feathers. She was wearing a business dress suit that fit her perfectly. Her eyes were a bright Orange color, and despite being a Mythical, she was easily the nicest person you could meet. Every time Abby saw her, she couldn't help but feel her heart race. This was the assistant principal of the school.

"Oh! Good morning, miss Abigail!~" The Alicorn's soft and sweet voice caught Abby by surprise as she was lost in her thoughts, a light bleat sneaking from her. "O-Oh! G-Good morning, Mistress!" The Alicorn chuckled softly, raising her finger to her lips and winking at Abby, leaning forward slightly. "Remember, not at school, Abigail. It's miss Phoenix, ok?"

Just then, someone snuck up behind Abby and grabbed her by the arm, making her jump in surprise. She turned to see her friend Sadie, a female Jaguar, smiling at her as she playfully tugged at her arm.

"C'mon Abby! We've gotta hurry, or we'll loose the best seats!" Sadie exclaimed, pulling Abby into the school; "Oh! And good morning miss Phoenix! Love what you've done with your mane today!" Phoenix blinked, slightly confused as she watched the 2 heading into the halls.

"Sadie! Slow down or you'll rip my arm off!" Abby joked, trying to keep up with Sadie. Sadie stuck her tongue out playfully, slowing down a little. "Sorry Abs, but there's gonna be a new guy showing up during the opening speech today! Who knows? He might be a super hottie!"

"A new student? What's so special about a new student?" Abby asked while trying to catch her breath; "And will you slow down?? Your slow is still too fast for me! And watch where you're go-" Just then, both Sadie and Abby ran into someone, knocking themselves onto their rears as they bounced off.

"Oww! What the heck was that? A wall??" Sadie grumbled, rubbing her forehead. She looked up to snap at whoever was in their way, but was frozen by what she saw. Abby shook her head, still recovering from whatever they ran into.

"See Sadie?? I told you to watch where you're going!" Abbie looked in front of them, seeing that they ran into a figure; "Sorry, my friend wasn't looking where she was going and…" As she was apologizing, she trailed off while looking at the figure, her mind trying to process what she was seeing.

The figure they ran into was a tall equine wearing a dark grey two-piece suit. His stance gives off a very professional feel to it. And despite getting ran into by a jaguar and a sheep, his stance seems barely disturbed, standing back straight, hands resting on the middle of his back. His silver tail barely flicked as he looked curiously at the 2, his piercing blue eyes staring at them. But what took Abby by surprise wasn't any of these. It was the fact the equine…had Ram Horns??

Abby's mind was flooded with the images of the character from her book, the Changeling Prince, and this stranger looked exactly how she described him! 'How is this possible?? This guy shouldn't exist!' Abby tried calming herself, when a hand came into her line of sight.

"Terribly sorry my dears, but I'm afraid I wasn't watching where I was going." Abby looked up at the stranger, his eyes changing to a softer look, his voice deep yet gentle. He then offered Sadie a hand as well; "My fault entirely, I'm sure."

"Oh no, not at all!" Sadie chirped, taking his hand to stand up; "It's my fault for running and not watching in front of me." As she was saying this, Abby took his other hand and stood up, seeing how tall he was next to her made her a little intimidated.

"Well how about we just share the blame then." He said with a soft chuckle, looking at Abby curiously; "You can let go of my hand now, miss." Hearing this, Abby realized to her shock that she was indeed still holding his hand. She quickly yanked her hand away, hiding her hands behind her back as she felt her cheek wool getting warm.

"S-Sorry! I was just uh…" Abby was cut off by the sound of the school bell ringing. Sadie suddenly grabbed Abby's hand. "Crap! We're gonna be late!" Sadie tugged Abby away, calling out; "Sorry Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome, but we'll have to introduce ourselves later! Look for us after the school announcements, ok?" And with that, the two hurried down the hall and towards the gymnasium where the big announcement was to be held.

Inside the Gym was all sorts of animals sitting in rows of hundreds of chairs. The gym was a massive building with the idea of helping all animals with their abilities, from running, to jumping, to flying and even hiding. In front of the hundreds of filled seats was a makeshift stage with a podium, with the front 2 rows of seats empty. And roughly in the center of the crowd was Sadie and Abby, around them was their friends Rachel, a female eagle, Thomas, a male gazelle and Kip, a male golden retriever.

"So how cute was he exactly?" Rachel asked Sadie as she informs the group about the strange animal they stumbled into.

"Oh my gosh, he was a total Hottie!" Sadie chirped, her tail flicking slightly as she placed her hands on her cheeks; "He had these piercing blue eyes that felt like they were staring into your Soul, And he was wearing a suit!" Her and Rachel let out playful squeals, then laughed.

"And he had Ram horns?" Thomas asked, slightly confused about the details of the guy, scratching his own horn; "But I thought you said he was an equine? I've never heard of horses having horns except in fairy tales."

Kip suddenly flopped against Thomas, resting the back of his hand against his forehead. "He sounds like a dreamboat! I think if I see someone like that, I'd feint!"

Thomas rolled his eyes, lifting his arm to try and get Kip off of him. "Remind me again why we are friends? You always swoon over every stallion that you set your eyes on!"

Kip gave Thomas his sad puppy eyes, knowing Thomas hates seeing them. "Oh Tommy…you don't like me flirting with other guys?" He then playfully nips at Thomas' ear; "I didn't know you were the jealous type."

Thomas blushed a deep red, pushing Kip away. "S-Shut up! You know I'm not the jealous type!" Kip started laughing as the girls playfully teased Thomas about his blush.

Just then, the side doors to the gym opened, revealing a few dozen animals walking in as the noise of everyone talking went dead silent. These animals were the Mythicals, and in front were 3 in particular that led the group. A Black dragoness, a Light Blue unicorn, and a grey Alicorn with a little blue Unicorn on his shoulders.

The Light Blue Unicorn was tall and thin, his hair a dark, poofy and curly mess, but somehow it seems like he doesn't mind. His facial expression was calm and relaxed, even showing a slight smile. He seemed to be bobbing his head to a song in his head, lost in thought. He was wearing blue jeans with torn knees and a T-shirt with a strange band logo on it.

The Alicorn was slightly taller than the Unicorn with much more defined musculature, with grey fur and red hair. He was wearing a black T shirt with the white words 'This is my dress shirt' on the front, with loose fit Khaki pants.

The little Unicorn that was riding the Alicorn's shoulders was his little sister, with bright blue fur and yellow hair. She was wearing a cute little dress and was happily waving at the other animals as they passed, making the Alicorn smile as she seemed to be enjoying herself.

The Dragoness, however, had an entirely different feel to her. She was slightly shorter than the other 2, but her aura gave off a 'I'm in charge' feel. She was wearing a slim fitting glowing dress that gave off a feeling of elegance. Her jet black scales shined from the lights as well as her purple scales that started at her neck and went down under her dress. She also had horns that curled on the sides of her head, polished to a bright red shine.

Behind these 3 were mythological creatures of all types, all of them heading toward the 2 front rows of seats. As they were all seating themselves, some of the Mythicals looked towards the rest of the animals, making disgusted noises or turning their noses up at them before taking their seats.

Once they were seated, the doors behind the podium opened and the teachers walked in, along with the Pegasus from the front of the school, miss Phoenix. The 12 teachers walked up to the podium, all but miss Phoenix taking a seat as she stood in front of the podium.

"Good morning everyone!" Her voice echoed through the speakers as she spoke into the mic; "As you all know, I'm Miss Phoenix, the vice principal of the school. Sadly the principal, Mr. Red couldn't make it today due to a bad case of food poisoning. But he insisted we go on with the introduction!" She smiled, looking over the students; "Now I'm sure a lot of you heard the rumors by now that we are getting a new student, and I'm excited to let you know those rumors are true!"

The students started whispering and talking to themselves, wondering why this was such a big deal. 'So we got a new student. Why make such a big commotion about it?' 'I came all this way for this??' These and a few other things were heard by the teachers, one of which, a big Lion, stomped his foot onto the floor. The loud thud noise echoing through the building as the murmurs quieted down.

Miss Phoenix cleared her throat before she continued. "I know it seems strange to do this for a new student, but believe me when I say this is a very special occasion! For the new student is something truly special!" With that, she looked towards the doors that the teachers entered from, holding one of her arms out towards the doors; "Would you please make your entrance, sir Ares?"

At that, the doors slowly opened revealing the new student, making almost everyone in their seats stand up in shock. The animal walking forward was a tall equine with brown fur and silver hair. He was wearing a dark grey Two-piece suit, straightening his tie with one hand as he walked in. As he walked onto the stage, the entire crowd of students noticed the same thing…the equine had Ram horns!

As the whole group of students began asking questions to themselves, Ares bowed and introduced himself. "Greetings everyone. My name is Ares, and I will he joining this school as your new student. Do let me know if I can be of any assistance."

Miss Phoenix smiled and, ignoring the steady uproar of the students, especially from the Mythicals, held up her hands, her wings opening slightly. "Please give the new student a warm welcome! And with that, the school year begins! Welcome to Beast High!"
