Chapter 59: Turing the Library

Sensing a group of people entering we rushed towards the entrance.

Arrived we saw no one concentrating I sensed four people hiding about to say something, and Wan Shi gave them a warning.

"You four have one chance to show yourselves or you'll become part of my library."

Hearing this all of them came out and as a surprise to me, I saw three faces that I knew and with them an old man. Seeing Aang, Sokka, and Katara I was surprised.

Soon Wan Shi spoke asking them to return from where they once came.

Beginning to walk away the Sokka spoke.

"Oh, great spirit we come here seeking knowledge it would be a great honor if you would allow us to learn from such a legendary library."

Hearing this I wanted to face-palm myself but to my surprise, Wan Shi's response surprised me.

"For what you seek is not free knowledge for knowledge then you may search what you seek. Each one of you must give something to enter."

Soon each one of them offered something the old man gave them a large thick book, and Aang and Katara gave scrolls of their bending. Sokka being the last one offered a knot he just made accepting this Wan Shi left.

Leaving everyone saw me soon their eyes widen.

About to walk away Katara called me over saying hello to them they soon asked me a barrage of questions.

The main question they asked me was how I have been and what I was doing. Telling them that I was good and that I have been traveling the fire nation and bearly got back.

Asking them why they arrived they told me that they were searching for the weakness of the Fire nation.

As Sokka uttered these words I covered his mouth as fast as possible. I soon explained that the spirit Wan Shi does not like having people use the library for war.

Removing my hands they asked me why? Explaining that in the past many people would have come and used his library to get the upper hand in any war or battle. After so many times he hid his library and throw out anyone that arrived.

Answering their question Katara asked me how my Water bending progress has been going. Telling her that I have made improvements but was still not as strong as her.

Soon Aang and Sokka giggled hearing them lowered my finger making them sink down. Trying to pull

Pulling their feet out I asked them who the scholar was. They soon explained that the scholar's name was Zei and that with him they found the library.

Looking at him I asked him how long it took to find the library telling me that it took him many years. Answering I had a small smirk on my face remembering it took three to four months to find this place.

Walking through the library I explained to them the different sections that there are. Arriving in front of a large map I explained to them that during my stay here I asked Wan Shi for a map to navigate easily through the library he then drew this so I would stop asking him for directions.

Taking them to the Fire Nation history section Zei stayed by the map asking if he would come he shook his head leaving towards the Earth Nation History section.

Passing through Fire Nation banners gave each one of them a book. With a look of confusion, I told them that one of these books would have the information that there looking for.

Beginning to read Sokka saw me without a thick book in front of me asking why I was not helping them.

Looking at him I told him that I helped them enough and that they are the ones looking for the information, not me.

Hearing my Answer Sokka left it alone as he stuck his nose back in the book.

Leaving them I looked around the bending section.

Pulling scroll after scroll and opening them I only found the fire-bending attacks that I already knew.

I soon pulled out an old book that was covered in dust blowing on it I read the cover.

"Art of explosion"

Opening it gave a brief description of Exposion bending or combustion bending.

Describing that one must flow their chi to their forehead and heat the surrounding air. Once they do they can fire a super-heated beam of air capable of destroying boulders and defeating even great benders.

But with this bending art comes weakness it explained that one must have great chi control and consecration.

Without one or the other, it would become nearly impossible to do. It also warned that if one gets directly struck on its chi point during bending the user would feel great pain and would feel the explosion in its head.

As I read I soon hear Sokka shouting that he found it.

Walking back I told them to keep a low voice hearing me Sokka asked if I knew anything about a black sun.

Asking why he pointed at a page he was holding.

Reading it said "once the moon covers the sun switching the roles the Earth would darken blocking all the energy that it's giving.

Looking back to Sokka I told him he actually found it leading them to the astrology section.

As we reach it I started looking for any book relating to the sun.

Seeing what I was doing Sokka and the rest did the same soon Katara called us.

As we approached she explained that it happens every eighteen months asking Sokka for the date of the last Eclipse.

Doing quick math they found out that at the end of the year, the Eclipse would begin.

getting the information they asked me to lead them out as I did we passed Zei asking if he wanted to leave telling us that he wanted to stay.

Everyone soon looked at me ringing the bell Wan Shi soon appeared. Explaining to him that Zei wanted to stay looking at Zei he agreed to allow him to stay leading him to a room as I took everyone to the exit.
