"Hey, Rider, why did you have to come up here?" Waver lay on the bridge in Fuyuki City, his legs trembling.
"It's simple! Because the people are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the king! Haha!" Rider, the King of Conquerors, said as he looked at a group of people in the distance taking photos with various devices. "Look! Let the radiance of the king shine into their eyes!"
Waver sighed inwardly. What's the deal with this King of Conquerors? He's a bit different from the one in the manga. Although things seem similar in everyday situations, he hasn't really displayed his dominance.
But he knew the reason – there was no one to show off to.
King of Conquerors Iskandar hadn't truly engaged in a battle that pushed him to his limits in this Holy Grail War. Furthermore, there were no other kings to compare to, as depicted in the manga. This was perfectly normal. After all, in this Holy Grail War, there were no other kings besides Iskandar and perhaps Altera.
But even Altera wasn't a straightforward king. She was more like a force of destruction.
"Hey, Rider, who did you buy this outfit for?" Waver asked, still trembling, as the two of them had just purchased outfits from a clothing store while strolling around.
"Haha, who else but that young girl who's Saber?" Rider laughed heartily. "Although I don't know what's bothering her, I can guess to some extent. It's not like she wishes for battles or anything, especially when it's her only chance to descend into this world. Walking around freely in Fuyuki City and relaxing is probably what she truly desires, what she should do!"
"Rider? Did you figure something out?"
"Well, more or less," Iskandar nodded. "I have nothing to say about her. Words won't help. Let her be free, unrestricted by the Holy Grail War, to walk around and relax. That's probably her wish."
With that, the big man looked into the distance. "This way, she can better understand what her true wish is, right? That stubborn young girl."
...
"This place is..." Kotomine Kirei opened his eyes and looked around. "A church?"
He slowly sat up, trying to remember what had happened. He recalled being sealed away by Caster's summoning, which had led to his loss of consciousness.
"Kirei, you finally woke up." Kirei's father, Kotomine Risei, walked in and let out a sigh of relief.
Indeed, Kotomine Kirei's personality could be considered twisted, especially as portrayed in the manga Fate/Zero. However, this was how ordinary people saw him.
In reality, such a personality was not uncommon among magus. But Kotomine Kirei was not a magus; he was a priest of the Holy Church.
If he had been affiliated with any other organization within the Holy Church, it would have been considered blasphemous. However, the Executors were a bit different.
Moreover, Kotomine Risei was the father of Kotomine Kirei, who trusted his son unconditionally, no matter what happened.
So, he secretly brought Kotomine Kirei back to the church.
"How long was I unconscious?" Kotomine Kirei quickly asked, realizing the current situation.
"More than a day," Kotomine Risei replied, his expression somewhat troubled. He didn't mention another important detail, but Kotomine Kirei had already noticed.
"I can't feel... mana."
Kotomine Risei nodded reluctantly. "Your magic circuits have been sealed, and you won't be able to use mana for several years."
"Several years?" Kotomine Kirei was taken aback.
"Yes, the sealing technique I asked Tohsaka-kun to analyze seems to be a sophisticated one that even he didn't fully understand. Originally, it should have permanently sealed your mana, but due to some error, it will be released in a few years. So, don't worry."
"I see." Kotomine Kirei nodded.
"By the way, it's been a day. Is there anything you'd like to eat?"
"In that case, if it's not too much trouble, Father, I'd like some Mapo Tofu."
"Understood. I'll prepare it for you," Kotomine Risei sighed and left the room.
Kotomine Kirei opened his shirt and touched the magical seals on his abdomen. "Sealing, huh? Sealing my mana for 'several years'? Several years... should be enough for the Holy Grail War."
...
Inside the Tohsaka residence –
Tohsaka Tokiomi listened to his Servant, Lancer, who had descended as a Caster-class Servant, reporting, "In summary."
"So, the current King of Conquerors is on the Fuyuki Bridge now... Interesting. What a Servant who loves wandering around. Choosing to summon you back then was truly a stroke of luck."
"You flatter me, Master," Lancer replied, his expression unchanged.
"Well then, could you please take care of Saber's Master and completely defeat Kayneth's group?"
"If it's your order."
"Very well. Lancer, we have already located Saber's whereabouts. Take advantage of Rider's absence and quickly defeat Saber before he arrives!"
"Understood, Master." With that, Lancer disappeared as a spiritual entity.
However, Tohsaka Tokiomi could still sense that Lancer was rushing towards Kayneth's location at an incredibly fast pace. At this rate, it would only take a few minutes.
"This is it." Said Karna. He looked at the nearby magus workshop and said, "So, this is the stronghold of the magus in this era. It's indeed a bit troublesome. To break through this quickly, even I will have to exert some effort. But..."
Lance appeared in his hand, crackling with lightning, and he threw it forward with great force.
Boom!
Crackling sounds!
The rampant lightning struck the magus workshop, destroying a large part of it. Countless magical creatures perished as a result.
"Saber!"
A white Heroic Spirit burst out of the lightning.
"Have you appeared, Saber."
Karna extended his hand, and his thrown lance returned to his grasp, blocking Altera's sword.
"You've come out, Saber..."
"I'll destroy you!"
...
"Hey, come down! Hurry down!" The police had cordoned off the area near the Fuyuki City bridge and shouted.
After more than ten combat experiences, they knew very well that with this net in place, even if someone jumped, they wouldn't die, and they might not even get injured if they were lucky. In fact, they were confident that no one would be able to escape the net. They had experienced this before.
"Hey, Rider, what should we do? If we continue like this, we'll be caught!" Waver said.
"Hmm? Oh, that... Could that be Caster?" Rider looked into the distance and said.
"Huh? What?"
"Haha, hold on tight, kid!" Rider grabbed Waver by the collar and jumped down.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Without using his Noble Phantasms, the soft cushioning net below seemed effective. Rider felt that even an ordinary person wouldn't get hurt.
But now wasn't the time for such thoughts. He took a few steps and jumped off the net to the open ground, all before the police could get closer.
He laughed heartily as he ran away with Waver.
