Legend-level

"Uncle, shouldn't you send a few Master-level Vates to check up on the platform?"

"We really can't as the Rolf family holds the key."

"Didn't they want this wedding from the start? It doesn't make sense."

Savar could only sigh as she pouted and looked towards the distance.

A person from the barrier finally came out, and his eyes were bloodshot as he frantically flew towards Savar and Dorother's location.

"Demon child! The demon killed the two Masters!"

His voice gradually decreased in volume as he flew over the distance.

With those words, Dorother's eyes roused and she quickly ripped her long gown at the knee and flew with great speed, only to be blocked by her uncle within seconds.

"I'm sure it's Kaff! Please just let me see him!"

"We can't." Savar looked over the distance and a red light was coming towards them, alerting all of the Vates nearby.

The person was enveloped in a large cloak that covered his whole body except for the eyes, and a red orb of light hovered above as he flew. Almost all of them were about to launch their charged attacks towards the incoming person but Savar's words reverberated throughout them, halting their movements.

"Everyone stop. This is a guest that was personally sent by my brother to guard our bride."

The person stopped in midair, and he applied pressure to everyone. He had a Grandmaster-level power, and almost everyone knelt in fear and respect, attempting to preserve their lives.

A commotion broke out and everyone started to talk to each other.

"A demon? You? The Vates? Actually hired a demon?" One of the guests smirked as he asked towards Savar while he pointed at the cloaked person that floated on the distance.

"Seeing as he hasn't moved from his spot to kill all of us present, I could only say that he's not an enemy for now.

"Is this the trump card of the Flairfly? A Grandmaster demon? I thought demons were our sworn enemies?"

The few of the Vates who could still speak and move freely all had discussions and some even tried to left, only to be suppressed by the demon by smashing red light towards them. The damage done wasn't large, but as Master-levels, they each had their own ways to defend against stronger opponents as they stayed pinned down to the ground.

"No one goes away."

The person finally spoke and enveloped the whole area with a red barrier, enclosing every Vates present.

"Why is that voice..." Dorother who was once floating started to go back along with Savar as they went near the barrier along with the cloaked person.

With that, all of the Vates went quiet and feared the worst to come.

***

He's here. He's finally here.

One of Dad's murderers.

"William. That name, I won't forget."

Beside me, Aunt's aura started surging to a flare once more, but this time there was a tinge of rainbow colored prisms that dispersed before her white aura flame broke out and her whole body let out an aura that even pushed me a bit.

"Don't forget, Aunt. What Yona said."

I only fear that she'll go mad with this incoming fight after clearing up the Vates that came relentlessly.

"I'm very clear-headed right now. Clear on killing him off."

"Don't forget that he's still a Grandmaster-level even after Yona changed his entire magic source."

I kept reminding Aunt to be careful, as even I had no impact back then against the general with the golden armor. What more if he's stronger than that knight that curbstomped me before I could even charge my strongest Origin Screw back then.

This is going to be a tough battle.

"Why did we even have to go and fight every single one of them?"

"It's your fault for fighting that weakling earlier and not cutting off his source spirit in a short period of time."

I can only let out a sigh as Aunt scolded me in her current blazing form. Even I didn't dare to provoke her right now, even when my body is durable, I'm not sure I can receive a thrashing from Aunt as she spent more time with Yona fighting than me.

This time I'll probably be able to see how much she progressed.

Strangely, I only realized that this platform blocked vision, and that only if a key holder can one go inside. But after I took a look of the red-haired guy's things only did I see that he had that specific key, and I locked the barrier for now, blocking everyone.

I'm not sure how we were able to enter earlier, I can only assume that we luckily arrived as soon as they came in.

"Should I open it now?"

"Look below first."

On the ground, there was a familiar face but it looked a bit different. Earlier I couldn't see the incoming Vates' faces, but now that that person is just right in front of the barrier...I felt mixed emotions.

"Three?"

She's here!

William also went towards her, along with a tall person...Grandmaster.

We've met at last huh?

Everyone at that table the day I swallowed the Source Time Chest.

I'm sure Sorn is just here somewhere, watching from the sidelines and waiting for an opening.

Using my Soul Control, I extended and willed it to scan everyone within the platform to make sure that there were really no more Vates in hiding.

"I would've gave him a few sword slashes from here but he just so happened to be with your girl."

"She's... not my girl." I replied with my head a bit lowered. We didn't really had much of an interaction, but I felt this close connection. We're probably friends, that I can say. But from what my Origin tried to show me, it's as if my subconscious doesn't consider her as just a 'friend' and there's a bit more than that.

Really, how simple can a guy could be? She's not even an adult at that. If this was on the previous world and, if, or someone discovered I was previously twenty three years old, then I'd probably be on the news right now.

We shouldn't delay longer.

"Ready?"

I willed the key and it flew towards the edge of the invisible barrier, before a loud sound of something similar to glass broke.

"Surprise!"

Arc instantly lunged towards the cloaked man with an orange sword.

The engravings on the side started to glow with white light that seemed to fuel her already blazing aura even further before she crashed towards William.

As the two people that she assaulted were Grandmasters, they respectively reacted. Savar took a small book from his breastpocket and used it to block the incoming winds that were accompanied by the massive momentum from Arc's downwards sword strike, protecting Dorother behind him.

William however, faced the brunt of the full attack.

He used two of his hands that glowed in red light, and circles of light started to appear as he blocked and chanted, not leaving a gap for another opening.

Arc seemed to wait for something else, so she sent a wisp of her own Soul Control towards Kaff's direction and discovered that he's dodging sharp and quick attacks from a thin and bald butler. Seeing this made her eyes wander but decided to press on towards William instead.

"Crest Fall."

Arc calmly let out two words and a blinding light erupted from her orange-bladed sword, and the black hilt was vibrating so much as she pressed on it, before finally completing a massive slash that produced a large wave of light that enveloped all the Vates behind the three in front.

The ground quaked and cracks slowly formed, William got pushed for a few meters before finally stopping as Savar joined him in reinforcing a barrier of gold and red that intertwined with each other.

The strength of two Grandmasters weren't to joke about; Arc estimated to wipe down almost half of the road, yet when the brilliant light disappeared, only an eighth got damaged by her attack, only managing to blow away most of the weaker Vates.

"Everyone, withdraw."

The ones who were still able to stand and move quickly gathered themselves and the fainted before flying away back towards the manor.

The Master-level Vates from the distance weren't that badly damaged but they still felt the impact of the attack and made their knees shiver before they stabilized themselves from hearing orders to retreat.

A few of them wanted to stay and reinforce the fight, but when they saw the cloaked man unveil himself, every person that knew him had their jaws drop as low as they can.

"It can't be."

"I thought he's recovering?"

"Why's he a demon?"

A lot of the Vates found themselves unable to speak for a while before Arc broke them from their daze.

"Heh. You can't reveal yourself, huh?"

Contrary to what Arc expected, William laughed instead of worrying of his identity being revealed.

"I was supposed to do this after the wedding, but I didn't imagine that you would get ahead of time. Look at how the power of faith makes loyal people." With those words, he raised up his arms as he turned backwards.

"Hail Hamion! Look at what curse they did to me. The demons did this, they converted my faith and belief to make me one of them but see! My faith for Hamion does not falter!!"

He made a red circle of light as large as the platform and the mark of the Void Emperor appeared.

Slowly, that light slowly turned slightly golden, and the middle part finally changed into something else entirely different than Salire's and Hamion's god mark.

"I am William! This is the mark of the Flairfly that the god Hamion bestowed! Our own Vates mark! He... has given me authority over all Vates in Phione!"

The red light vanished and was replaced with a golden light, its brilliance almost matching the setting sun and enveloped the whole area. From afar, it seemed like a god had descended. The clouds had even parted and cleared within the vicinity of the golden light, and all of the Vates' mark started to glow by themselves with different intensities.

The ordinary people started to kneel and pray on the spot from the sight.

"Father... reached the God-level of power?"

Dorother asked Savar as her eyes kept glued on the massive circle of light that showed a symbol of the Flairfly household.

"Almost. Looks like a lot of people really forget about the next step after the Grandmaster-level-----which is the Legend-level."

Savar's eyes flickered and he strengthened the barrier that protected Dorother and himself.

Of course, Arc did not idle by and started to prepare for her next move.

She rushed in towards William who was still not done casting his magic, yet a spherical barrier of red covered him as she sent a slash towards him.

"It's all just a copy. Yona-sis was really right."

All of the light became golden as it rose to the skies yet the barrier William had was a fully red in color.

Her attacks increased in intensity after the initial slash, and it didn't take long for her to break William's barrier and deliver a thrust will full strength, only to be blocked by the thin and bald butler.

"Thanks, Sorn." William finally clenched his fists, and all of the golden light coverged towards him and disappeared from the skies, enveloping his own body with golden light.

"Kaff?" Arc looked everywhere before he heard a whoosh towards in their direction. Arc immediately dodged to the side and saw Kaff lunging towards Sorn with his Origin blade, only to be blocked by the butler's bare hands.

"What's up with those hands?" Kaff asked before he let go of the Origin blade and willed for it to disperse before its wisps of light travelled towards his hands and formed once more.

Behind the butler, William already finished absorbing every golden light from the skies and his own aura slowly flared similar to Arc's.

"It's the Oracle's Insight. Uncle, am I correct?"

"Yes. He's been looking through all of the books just to achieve this, and even ate a lot of the rare herbs we've been keeping. He was supposed to do this before but didn't had the chance because of the Source Time Chest Kaff swallowed, and because of the war that started."

Seeing that William successfully combine with the golden light, Arc and Kaff stepped a bit backwards and sticked together in the air.

"Kaff, I'll give you time. Finish the fight with the next attack."

Arc put one of her hands on her chest while the other held the sword on a backhand downwards. White and orange light gathered towards Arc and her blade, seemingly became one. A large translucent sword light appeared above her head, the blade pointed downwards.

"True... Desolation."

Kaff immediately dispersed every Origin that he crafted, and absorbed everything on his body. He put his arms on the side, and made himself open.

An orb of white light flashed intermittently in front of his mouth, even making William's expression curious.

"What can two Grandmasters do against a Legend? I've finally this level so I'll give you time to strike your last." William loudly exclaimed as he crossed his arms in a relaxed position.

"But Master, what the kid looks dangerous. I got goosbumps just seeing him gather the nearby winds, what more of the incoming attack?"

"Relax, I've prepared for this."

Instead of trusting his Master's words, Sorn instead disappeared in a flash and still attacked Arc, only to find out that he'd been slapped by the side of her large sword light which he only noticed after realizing he crashed on the ground.

"Such speed!"

"I told you to just let them have a go at it. It'll be a baptism for my Legend-level of power."

"What an arrogant fool." Arc murmured and within a split second, she appeared in front of William and delivered her large sword light---

*clang*

Only to be blocked by William's casual wave of a hand.

"You don't think Legends aren't called as such, do you?"

"I'm just getting warmed up!"

With that, William's hands blurred from time to time as sparks also formed as Arc attacked her in different angles in high speeds.

Meanwhile, the white orb of light in front of Kaff was starting to have wisps purple.

Hello, this is Houteki, the author of this book.

Bad.

I feel bad lately about writing.

Sending help.

Anyway, I hope that there would be lots of readers that come up to until this chapter.

I've reached my 100k words milestone, and having reached it added more motivation for me to write, even though I'm struggling a bit nowadays.....

Enough with the thoughts, I only hope readers would still continue to patron my book.

Cheers!
