Milind was the first to reach the ashram. He went into the cottage that was reserved for him and Godha usually. He changed into a kurta as soon as he reached and waited for Brihannala's call. It came in thirty minutes. Ulupi was there to escort him to Brihannala's cottage.

Milind walked into the cottage as Brihannala sat in a state of meditation. He walked up to the single mat placed in front of her and sat down cross legged, waiting for her to open her eyes. After about ten minutes, Brihannala slowly opened her eyes and saw him sitting in front of her. Something was different about him. He did not sit in rapt attention, as he usually did, waiting for her to open her eyes and look at him, with eagerness. Brihannala recognised a confident ease in his demeanour. She wondered what was causing it.
