Damien never hesitated. Not in the past at least. He was looking back at his leg and then back at the platform on the other side.

As if he had heard her words, Damien took a few steps back. He got into a running start. At the edge of the cliff, he leaped into the air. He used his hind legs to propel him further. But things didn't go the way he wanted.
Putting too much pressure on his hind leg caused a shot of pain to surge through his entire body, reducing the amount of strength he could put into his jump.
