Reunion

Safira tightened her grip on her mate as she shook her head.

"I'll be alright, Starlight. You have the pack to think about and your training."

"But-"

She placed a finger on his lips to stop him from speaking as she continued, "No buts. I promise you if I need help, I'll send you a sign, alright?"

Damien sighed, nodding along to his mate's request. She asked him so genuinely, how could he refuse? He knew arguing with her about it would be useless too. That being said, a surprise visit was not impossible.

After some time, Safira woke up. She could still feel Damien's presence around her as if he had only just left her side seconds ago. Her heart ached knowing he was so far away, but right now she has bigger things to worry about.

"Where am I?" She muttered to herself as she looked all around.

She did not recognize her surroundings. Looking out the window on the side, she could see mountain peaks in the distance. She closed her eyes as she tried to recall what happened.
