Meeting

Tulip walled out of the waiting room with an exhausted face. She had been trying to explain why hiding his identity was important but he refused to take it seriously, the only way she could console herself was the fact that he could protect himself.

After Tulip left, Pel and the others went to register as students of the academy and were then given their room numbers.

Their personal information was uploaded to the school database before they were handed their watches with an instruction on how to use them.

The watch intrigued Pel but not to the extent of changing his view about humans after all he had been to many planets and had seen many different communication devices, but his view was elevated, just a little bit.

Since the girls' dorm was on the opposite side of the academy, Tessa and Flora had to separate from them.

"What is your room number?" Adam asked with hidden expectations, he didn't dislike Pel but just wished to be as far away as possible.

"112. What's yours?" Pel asked.

Adam smiled. "111" what a narrow escape, he could still keep his eyes on Pel while maintaining a safe distance, a win-win for both of them or just for him.

Using the directions given by the watch, it didn't take long to get to their rooms.

Standing in front of the door, Pel paused. 'I wonder what their definition of dorm looks like, going back to school feels different...anyway, I hope I'm not too disappointed' with that thought he opened the door.

What came into his view was a medium-sized room with four beds. A regular person would have felt this place was spacious but for Pel it was cramped.

Back when he was in school on planet Nodard he stayed in the dorm for a semester and even though they were six, each Kerki had a personal space creator so there was privacy.

Looking at the bed openly arranged at each side, Pel clicked his tongue. He wouldn't be comfortable here no matter how hard he tried, the only way was to set up a space regulator but that was time-consuming.

Deep in thought, he forgot he wasn't the only one in the room.

The other three had seen the newcomer arrive and stopped their actions to observe him but he stood the like a statue wearing a dull expression.

"Are you okay?"

Pel's thought process was interrupted when he heard the question, only then did he notice the three staring at him curiously.

'Where are my manners' he scolded himself before wearing a smile. "Hello earthlings"

"What?" one of them tilted their head in confusion.

"...People" Pel shrugged. That was the best he could do. "My name is Pel and your roommate I guess"

"Well nice to meet you, I'm Owen" the boy with the brown curly hair introduced himself.

"Gerald" the next introduced.

"Alvin" the last one said and continued arranging his things, from the looks of it, he arrived not long ago.

Pel also walked to the last bed and sighed. "Ito please hand me a mini space trapper, I have a lot of work to do"

Meanwhile, Tulip arrived home where her old man was patiently waiting for her by the fireplace.

For an awakened of her caliber, one wouldn't expect her to live in a place so down to earth but that was how her life has been.

Just she and her dad and if not for the mana surge and her awakening she wouldn't have gotten to know how much influence her dad had on the outside world.

Even now she was sure there were many things hidden from her but she honestly never bothered about power struggles not to talk of getting involved but this time she had to ask for the man's help.

"Welcome back kid...heard you did a great job this time...too great it put on the radar" Bruce said staring at his stubborn daughter with a raised eyebrow.

"What do you know, the news does travel fast...are you proud of your daughter?" Tulip took off the jacket and sat opposite her dad.

"Quit the crap, I thought you were just having fun..." Bruce frowned.

"Depending on the definition of fun..." Tulip shrugged and pick up the glass of water already present on the table.

"I heard the kid is abnormal, how bad can abnormal be..." Bruce asked secretly eyeing Tulip as she drank his water without any shame.

"Abnormal won't cut it...the word that probably would hasn't been invented yet" Tulip sighed, thinking about Pel she felt like drinking another glass of water to calm herself but the glass was empty and she was too tired to walk to the fridge.

"He sounds interesting"

Tulip scoffed. "You won't be saying that once you get to meet him, I promise at least half of your remaining years would be removed"

Bruce squinted his eyes and found that the latter wasn't making a joke, he was curious but because for certain reasons they had to keep their discussion vague.

"Meeting is in an hour, hope you're ready. They won't be nice and might even use a lie detector" Bruce said before turning away.

Tulip frowned, if she really had to go through a low detector then things were going to be complicated.

The 15 major families had their special association and hell knows how her father got involved in it. These families rarely acted unless they felt threatened and Tulip having Pel and his friend under her wings gave them a reason to summon her.

Tulip wasn't scared that they would use the excuse of a promotion to for her away...maybe she was before but after finding out Pels real identity, she was more afraid of them making a move on him than herself.

It wasn't because she cared about Pel too much but just felt that he might be really dangerous. At this point she was still hesitant to tell her dad, though she didn't want to, no one knew how things would turn out eventually.
