Chapter 32: A New Ship

Jake and Aria were currently seated in the main dining hall of the Dravaris Mansion.

The table was long and could seat almost 30 people, with 2 chandeliers hanging on the ceiling giving the place a warm ambient atmosphere.

"Jake, where are they?" Aria whispered into Jake's ears. They were brought to the dining room 10 minutes prior and were informed that Elian would join them soon.

"They'll be here soon, why? You hungry?" Jake teased his sister who glared at him.

Just then, the main doors that led to the private quarters of the Dravaris family opened and Elian entered, joined by a woman and Seraphina, who smiled when she saw Jake.

"My apologies, Mr and Miss Avalon, it seems my work has held me up longer than I thought." Elian apologised genuinely.

"It's not a problem Mr Dravaris', thank you for inviting us to dinner." Jake answered not forgetting the basic mannerisms instilled in him from a child.

"This is my daughter-in-law, Lysandra." Elian gestured to the woman standing next to him who bowed her head.

Lysandra wore a red one-piece dress that highlighted her body, and her face looked enchanting to both Jake and Aria who felt a little bit intimidated.

"Thank you both for saving my daughter, I am eternally indebted to you." Lysandra spoke and Jake could not imagine how much she must have suffered.

Aria quickly spoke so as not to sullen the mood any further "Your hospitality was more than enough Mrs Dravaris, and your daughter is safe and sound now so please do not be so hard on yourself."

Lysandra smiled and nodded at Aria in appreciation. They sat down to eat and soon a dozen maids entered, presenting a variety of high-class meals that they laid on the table.

"Please, I hope the food is to your liking and eat to your heart's content." Elian spoke to Jake and Aria who looked on at the table.

Everything was from Earth, and not only that, Aria, who had attended many events with her parents knew the value of the food presented.

A5 Matsusaka Beef, something that was never sold outside of Earth, Beluga Caviar, which was present in a large tray, and other foods whose ingredients could rarely be purchased even on Earth were presented as a buffet.

Both Aria and Jake recognised the meaning behind this that the Dravaris family were truly grateful for their help and knew they had spared no expense to please them.

Unlike the previous gloomy atmosphere, the dinner was lovely with Jake having many conversations with Elian and Seraphina and Lysandra with Aria. By the end, everyone was happily laughing and chatting and Jake almost felt back at home.

Soon, after Dinner, Elian asked Jake "What time are you two due to leave tomorrow? we are happy to accommodate you for as long as you like."

"As early as possible, my family will be waiting for us anxiously and even I feel uneasy being away from them for so long."

Elian felt a little disappointed but understood Jake's decision and smiled "As per our promise, your ship will be ready by 5 am tomorrow, if you ever need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me personally. Remember that the Dravaris Family will always be indebted to you."

"Thank you Mr Dravaris." Jake thanked Elian.

"What! Jake, you're leaving." Seraphina was shocked by the news, it seemed that neither Elian nor Lysandra had told her.

"I'm sorry Seraphina, but my family is missing me too." Jake spoke to Seraphina.

"Please don't go, you can call your family here and stay with us." Seraphina tried begging Jake.

Jake realised that Seraphina also was affected by whatever he felt on the ship, but unfortunately, he had no choice.

She was infatuated with Jake, and both Elian and Lysandra realised that too, and did not want her to get even more heartbroken when he left, had kept her busy with other things.

Seraphina started to cry, Jake knew she was more mature and capable of controlling her feelings than others their age but did not realise the extent of her feelings had grown so large.

He walked to her and took her hand. "I promise I will come back and see you again, and also who says we can't be in contact with each other." Jake compromised with Seraphina.

"Here." He showed her his band," These are my details, I will also leave them with your grandfather, so whenever you want to call or see me, we can alright?"

Seraphina wiped her tears before looking at Jake "You promise?"

"I promise, so don't cry anymore okay? Your family must have been so worried about you so don't you think you'll hurt them more if they see you sad." Jake's words had a desired effect as Seraphina turned towards her mother and hugged her.

"I'm sorry Mom."

"It's alright my child, I just don't want to see you cry is all." Lysandra tried her best to keep her composure.

Aria was happy seeing Jake resolve the issue and Jake promised to see Seraphina before they left the next day.

A few hours later Jake had hopped into bed, going to sleep early as they had a long day ahead of them.

Aria was also in bed and had fallen asleep. Before Jake slept he decided to ask The Atlas a few questions that were in his mind.

'Atlas, why do I still feel an attachment to Seraphina? Even she feels that type of attachment but I think it's even stronger for her.'

(It is quite odd, usually, it would only be Seraphina who would be affected by this as you were essentially her saviour but the fact that not only has her feelings grown stronger, but you are also affected by this is certainly abnormal.

Maybe her psychokinetic abilities are the reason for this but we cannot be sure. Either way by my analysis, if her feelings for you grow at this rate. In a few years it could lead to a borderline obsession, maybe even greater, what was the word used...ah yes a yandere as they call it in Japan.)

Jake was stunned by The Atlas'predictions and quickly asked her another question.

'Is that a good thing or a bad thing?'

(It all depends on you Jake, if you make the correct decisions, it could be the best thing in your life or the worst but worry not, I will be by your side helping you through everything.) The Atlas reassured him.

'Thanks Atlas.'

(It is my duty, Jake, though I still appreciate it.)

'Oh and by the way, I wonder what type of ship we'll get.' Jake was excited by what his new ship would be.

(I believe it will be something worth much more than what you paid for it. Judging by what was laid out for dinner, I believe we have made a strong ally.)

'Anyway, good night Atlas.'

(Goodnight Jake.)

The next morning, Jake and Aria had packed clothes and a few gifts that had been given to them earlier and sat down for breakfast with the Dravaris Family, Elian wanted to send Jake off formally even though Jake wanted not to bother them.

Soon after breakfast, Elian personally led them to his landing pads behind the mansion and Jake spotted Seraphina and Lysandra waiting for them.

Seraphina dashed forward giving Jake a hug and Lysandra greeted the two siblings.

Jake waited before a loud bang was heard as a ship dropped out of orbit and quickly descended onto the landing pad.

The ship was larger than Jake had expected and was almost 120 metres in length.

Jake saw the gleam of the Deep Midnight Blue and not a single speck or dent was present in the ship.

(Jake, this ship is brand new.)

Jake looked at Elian who only gave a smug smile.

"Don't think too much of it. You paid for it and a satisfied customer is the best business strategy after all." Elian spoke to Jake.

Jake could only sigh before giving a grateful smile "Thank you Mr Dravaris."

Jake then turned to Seraphina who looked anxious realising Jake was about to leave.

"Remember our promise Seraphina, whenever you want we can call and it's not the last time we'll meet too okay? So don't be sad." Jake spoke his last words to Seraphina who instinctively hugged him, Jake also hugged her back.

After a minute he let her go and walked with his sister to the ship.

As he got onto the ramp he turned to the Dravaris family, especially Seraphina who was waving at him and waved back.

He entered the ship as the ramp closed behind him.

It took him a second before he realised the massive difference between his old transporter and the one he stood in.

"Wow." Both Jake and Aria had spoken at the same time.
