A Pilots Journey To The End [Pacific Rim]

It all began on 2013, The date was 10th of August, Me and my family were stuck in a trafic jam on the golden gate bridge "Kids, I don't think we're getting out of this jam soon." Said my Dad.

My sister replied "My phone is about to die why can't this traffic jam end already"

Suddenly everything began to shake, My dad said "Don't worry everything will be ok, it's just an earthquake."

I was looking out the window towards the sea, I thought I was imagining things when I saw the water level rise.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case, I began seeing a shadow in the water get larger and larger untill it rose out of the water.

It was large and it's head looked like it had an axe for a nose.

My sister saw it and began screaming at the top of her lungs out of fear.

I couldn't blame her since he was only 6 at the time.

The large creature raised its claw and tore through the bridge in one go, Our dad unlocked the door got out and then grabbed my sister while telling me to get out and run.

I was frozen in place on my seat out of fear when he suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged my out of the car.

I ran along with him but I was faster since he was carrying my sister in his arms, I ran ahead and began helping other people run away but when I turned back I saw that the creature was raising it's other claw, The bridge was torn in half.

I was already off the bridge when I saw this happen but luck wasn't on my dad's side,

He slipped and hit his head on the edge of a truck that was abandoned by it's driver,

My sister was Trapped under my dad's unconscious body when the bridge started falling, I tried to go back to help them but some other people stopped me from going saying that what I'm about to do is suicide if I go back on the bridge.

That was the first kaiju invasion, the incident where I lost all that was left of my family,

The kaiju that killed them rampaged for 6 more days untill it was finnally taken down by missiles.

We thought that this was just a one time incident until another kaiju appeared and then the third, The government created something called a 'Jeager Program' in order to fight the kaijus, at first they were piloted by one pilot but later it turned out that the neural load was too much for them, the government decided to create dual piloted Jeagers which had two pilots which shared the neural burden of piloting a Jeager, we started winning the war against the kaijus, And That is where my story begins.
