Chapter 7: Searching for Knowledge

The Boruto fell on his butt, still holding the Arming Sword in his hand. He had just been pushed by Tenten, who rested her sword on her shoulder while looking at Boruto with a smile.

"You're too hasty, Boruto," Tenten commented. "That's what makes an opening for me."

Boruto got up from the ground and patted the dust off himself. He got into his stances, and then his body blurred as he appeared in front of Tenten and launched a diagonal left slash.

Tenten parried it by hitting the top part of the blade, making Boruto's grip on the sword unstable. Boruto took a step back to stabilize his stances, but then Tenten launched a thrust at Boruto's neck.

However, she stopped it before it could pierce Boruto's neck.

"I lost again," Boruto sighed as he put his sword down.

Tenten smiled and also put her sword down. "You are improving, and it seems to me like you already know a few moves. But you still need to improve on them."

Boruto approached Tenten-sensei with a question that had been on his mind for a while. "Tenten-sensei, do you think I could dual wield?" he asked her.

Tenten raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Dual wield? Why would you want to do that? It could make it harder for you to use Ninjutsu," she pointed out.

Boruto shrugged. "I just want to have a backup weapon in case something happens," he explained.

Tenten nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Well, what kind of weapon would you like?" she asked.

Boruto didn't hesitate. "An axe. A one-handed axe, if possible," he said. He quickly drew a rough sketch of the shape he had in mind on the ground.

Tenten couldn't help but smile at Boruto's enthusiasm. "That's quite a specific request. I'll see if I can find that shape for you, but in the meantime, you can practice with this normal battle axe," she said.

Tenten reached for a scroll and unfurled it, revealing a battle axe that she handed to Boruto. As he took the weapon, he couldn't help but comment, "Damn, this is a bit heavier than I thought it would be."

Tenten nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's because the center of mass is further away from your hand. But I'm sure you already know how to handle an axe, right?" she asked.

Boruto nodded confidently. "Yes, I do."

During the intense sparring session, Boruto found himself struggling with the weight of the axe in one hand and the heavy sword in the other. The combined heaviness of both weapons proved to be quite challenging for him. Despite having the option to use his chakra to enhance his strength, Boruto made a deliberate choice not to rely on it. He wanted to build up his muscles and develop a deeper understanding of the two new weapons through sheer physical effort.

Concerned for Boruto's well-being, Tenten attempted to warn him about the difficulties he was facing. She knew that pushing himself too hard without the necessary skills and strength could lead to injury. However, Boruto remained determined, insisting on continuing the sparring session to gain a better understanding of the weapons' dynamics.

Tenten let out a sigh, realizing that Boruto was set on challenging himself. Despite her concerns, she respected his decision and continued the sparring session, ready to offer guidance and support whenever needed.

The sparring continued for about three more hours before they finally stopped. As they walked side by side towards Yakiniku Q, Boruto couldn't help but feel a bit guilty.

"Are you going to treat me?" Boruto asked Tenten, feeling a sense of guilt since she was going to pay for their meal.

"Yes, it's fine. Don't feel guilty, Boruto. You're my only student, so it's my pleasure to treat you," Tenten reassured him, gently rubbing his head.

Meanwhile, hidden from sight, Kakashi observed the two of them. A thought crossed his mind, "Why hasn't Boruto come to search for me?"

Boruto and Tenten were enjoying their meal when they suddenly caught the attention of Tenten's teacher, Might Guy.

"Aha, youth!" Guy exclaimed as he spotted Tenten and Boruto. "Tenten, who is this?"

"Guy-sensei, what are you doing here alone? This is my new student, Uzumaki Boruto," Tenten introduced.

"It's great to see you, the strongest Taijutsu user," Boruto greeted Guy with respect.

"Great to see you too, but kid, that title already belongs to one of my other students," Guy replied humbly.

"Join us, Guy-sensei," Tenten invited Guy, and he happily took a seat with them.

As Guy caught Boruto's gaze, the young boy couldn't help but feel a bit shy. Boruto looked at Guy with admiration and respect.

They continued to eat happily, and after finishing their meal, Boruto bid farewell to Tenten and Guy before heading back home.

As Tenten pushed the wheelchair with Guy sitting in it, he looked at her with a proud and shining smile.

"I'm proud of you, Tenten," Guy said, his voice filled with genuine admiration.

Tenten shrugged off the compliment modestly. "It's nothing, Guy-sensei. I'm just doing what I can."

Guy's smile widened. "Make sure you ignite that youthful fire in Boruto's heart," he said, his eyes twinkling with excitement.

Tenten nodded, a smile playing on her lips. "Yes, Guy-sensei. I'll do my best."

On his way back home, Boruto couldn't help but mutter to himself, "My hands and legs are so sore from the intense sparring session."

Feeling the discomfort in his muscles, Boruto decided to give himself some relief. He began massaging his arms, using the Mystical Healing Jutsu he had learned. The soothing energy flowed through his limbs, gradually easing the soreness. As he performed the healing technique, an idea sparked in his mind.

"Maybe I can expand this healing technique to encompass my entire body," Boruto thought aloud. "I could create a green aura and heal my entire body. I'll definitely try it out when I get home."

Upon arriving home, Boruto found his father, Naruto, sitting at the dinner table with tired eyes. Boruto greeted him with a warm smile before heading straight to the bathroom to clean himself up, washing away the dirt and sweat accumulated from the intense training session.

Finally, the Uzumaki family gathered around the dinner table, ready to enjoy a meal together. Boruto ate his food without any worries, savoring each bite.

Hinata, curious about Boruto's day, asked, "How was your training session with Tenten-san?"

Boruto replied casually, "It went pretty well."

Naruto, overhearing their conversation, chimed in with surprise, "Boruto, you trained with Tenten?"

Boruto nodded, confirming Naruto's question. "Yep, I did."

Confused, Naruto wondered aloud, "How did I not know about this?"

Boruto shrugged, understanding his father's busy schedule. "You were busy with work, so it's understandable."

Naruto scratched the back of his head, feeling apologetic. "Ah, sorry about that."

Boruto reassured his father, "It's fine, Dad. I know you were busy. But you should apologize to Himawari instead of me. I wasn't bothered by it since I was already tired."

With that, Boruto swiftly got up from the dinner table, heading to the sink to clean his plate. He yawned and said to his mother, "Mom, I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight."

Hinata nodded understandingly. "Okay, sleep well, Boruto. Goodnight."

Boruto then made his way to his room, feeling a bit sleepy and forgetting about his earlier plans. He quickly drifted off to sleep, his mind at ease.

Naruto gazed at his daughter, a hint of concern in his eyes. "Are you upset with me, Himawari?"

Himawari responded with a warm smile, shaking her head. "No, Dad, I'm not upset at all. Cheer up, Otou-chan," she reassured him.

Naruto's heart swelled with happiness, relieved to see his daughter's smile. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her understanding and support.

Hinata interjected, adding to the conversation. "Naruto-kun, Boruto is truly dedicated to becoming a shinobi."

Naruto's face lit up with excitement. "Isn't that amazing? I'm so proud of him!"

Hinata's tone turned slightly concerned. "I'm not saying it's not amazing, Naruto-kun. I'm just worried about him. He has the same determination in his eyes that I had when I was training in the past."

Naruto nodded, understanding Hinata's perspective. "I see your point, Hinata. But let's have faith in him. We'll support him every step of the way." He flashed a reassuring smile and gave a thumbs up.

Hinata returned the smile, feeling reassured by Naruto's positivity and support.

In the midst of the night, Boruto abruptly woke up, feeling the soreness throughout his entire body.

"Ugh, my body is killing me," Boruto grumbled as he sat up in bed. Then, a realization struck him - there was something he had been meaning to try.

Summoning a clone, Boruto instructed, "First, heal my sore body. Then, we can experiment with it."

The clone immediately began utilizing its healing abilities to alleviate Boruto's discomfort. Once the healing was complete, both Boruto and his clone pondered the task ahead, their hands resting on their chins.

"It's clear that we need a deeper understanding of the human body and chakra to modify this jutsu," Boruto remarked, contemplating the complexity of their goal.

"I can start researching and gathering more knowledge on the human body and chakra," Clone 1 suggested. "I'll take notes on what I find, and we can brainstorm together. It's unlikely that I can figure it out on my own."

Boruto agreed, nodding in approval. "That's a plan then. You go ahead and search for the information we need. Let's work on this together during this time."

Clone 1 smiled, acknowledging the task at hand. "Okay, I'll get started right away."

Boruto offered a word of caution, saying, "Be careful out there."

With a smile in return, Clone 1 made its exit through the window, embarking on the research journey to acquire the necessary knowledge for their experimentation.
