I've been loving so far and have caught up to chapter 418 the book is well translated, and the characters are well-designed and interesting. As for the story development, during the early parts it was very interesting as the MC was a non-combat character and more of a scientist. Sadly, in the later chapters, it continues to frustrate me on 3 points.
First, the later chapters feel like a city builder which is not bad, though it feels like his two wives contribute nothing but combat strength leaving him with all the work in the office. They left together, yet it feels like he's doing all the planning.
Second, although he is a scientist, and uses science to make up for his weaknesses. As of recent chapters, it doesn't feel like he's caught up to his wives. In early chapters, he complained about how being civilian ninja his growth is limited, and he's using science and medical ninjutsu to make up for it, which is cool. But even now other than senjutsu he has yet to ACTUALLY make himself stronger. The elemental clones are cool, but it feels like they should serve as supplements and not the basis of his power. None of his experiments have been used to improve his low chakra or talent. Which he has access too he has access to answers. Low stamina? Hasirama Cells and Senjutsu. Low Chakra? He took a piece of the dragons vein which gives him Biju LVL chakra but it's more of a consumable than his own chakra.
My third annoyance is that from beginning to now he has yet to catch up to either of his wives in power or ability leaving them to serve as his protectors, effectively making the elemental clones worthless as they rarely leave his side. Ruri feels more like an MC than him as she strives to improve herself FIRST. So when battle kicks in, you can always count on her. It just feels like MC has completely abandoned self-improvement beyond supplement strength which makes his gains feel hollow. He got senjutsu, cool, so do his wives...and they're better at it than him who made the system. He has elemental clones...cool. Ruri has Susano and strong sage arts. While IK the clones in a 1v5 can suppress her, I also know they won't and since MC just avoids training himself I also know that and gains he gets from now on will be hollow.
If anyone has read further in please tell me if the MC ever becomes powerful himself. [no clones]
