CHAPTER 78

EDWINA

I woke up to the smell of burning bacon.

My eyes flew open and I sniffed, trying to place where it was coming from.

The scent was so foreign that it disoriented me at first, but when Kieran's words from last night about staying over and making breakfast for Noah flooded back into my mind, I jumped out of bed.

Glancing at the wall clock in the bedroom, I cursed softly when I saw that it was already past ten in the morning. The sun was high in the sky, and the house was filled with the unmistakable scene of burning food.

I had found it hard to sleep last night, with Kieran just a room away.

My body was unbearably warm as I laid in bed, and my eyes kept flitting to the door as the night grew darker.

It was the first time me and Kieran slept under the same roof since our divorce, and it felt very weird.
