[WARNING: 27 Tunnel Crawlers detected (Grade-C): Mutated Mole]

What could be worse than being attacked by a bunch of moles?

Oh, Medeia knew! It was being attacked by a bunch of massive moles with big pointed claws and sharp teeth!

They dug their way out of the ground, making the ground above it shook violently and almost collapsed.

"They usually make their nests in fertile lands, but why do they suddenly appear in a dead city?" wondered Lucian.

The soil in the city had been poisoned, so nothing could live inside it. Therefore, it was such a bizarre sight for moles to make a nest inside the poisoned land.

"Who knows? Maybe they've evolved and can live anywhere now." Medeia walked behind Lucian as many of the Tunnel Crawlers came out of the ground. "What do you suggest? Run or fight?"

Lucian, "We can't run. Once the Tunnel Crawlers mark their prey, they'll keep chasing us until they get us."

In other words, they could endanger the Willow Village if they returned now.

"Well, we don't have any other choice, then." Medeia pushed Lucian forward, then ran toward the ruined house while dragging Nico. "You can do it, Lucian! Kill them all! No! Leave some of them for me!"

Lucian looked at her in confusion and didn't understand what was going on. But when one of the mole tried to dig its claw into his chest, Lucian immediately unsheathed his sword and cut its arms.

He sighed and laughed softly as Medeia entered one of the houses. "I thought she would cry like last time."

On the other side, Nico shouted to Medeia, "Why are we running? Shouldn't we help him fight the monsters?"

Medeia closed the door and started rearranging the items on the shelves. "Helping him by what? The only thing you can do there is become the monster's lunch." She opened every door in the house and yelled across the room, "Relax! He can handle them alone!"

Nico couldn't control his ability yet, so he would only make a mess if he tried to help Lucian.

Medeia sighed heavily because the house didn't seem to have the items she wanted. Nico, still confused by her behavior, finally asked, "What are you looking for, Miss Medeia?"

"Something that can burn their nest." She turned around and asked Nico, "You know … like gasoline, kerosine, or an accumulator."

Nico tilted his head. "I know kerosine, but what other things?"

Medeia grunted in frustration because she just realized the apocalypse babies weren't familiar with modern things.

"Those are things that could set something on fire." Medeia tried to explain with baby language. "They are usually placed in the barrels and have a strong odor."

She clapped her hands. "Now, chop chop! Make yourself useful and try to find those things in the cellar."

Medeia leaned toward the cracked window and peered out into the chaotic scene beyond. She saw Lucian pierced the Tunnel Crawlers' body with his rusty sword.

Lucian moved with swift precision, jumped from one place to another to avoid their attack. His blade covered in blood and severe monsters' limb scattered on the ground, making the dry soil turn into deep crimson.

At that moment, Medeia realized he didn't use her mutant ability at all and it didn't make sense. Wouldn't it be more effective if he used his abilities?

Medeia narrowed her eyes, looking at something she had never realized before.

Lucian seemed to feel relief whenever his blade pierced through their bodies.

He liked it. He liked the feelings of killing the monsters with his strength because it made them die in a painful way.

What a psycho …

'Are you sure his kindness points are 99, not under 60 or something?'

[The system had never make a mistake]

Really?

Because it seemed like the system had a wrong judgment to Lucian.

But not gonna lie. He looked hot though.

Well, as long as he had no pleasure in killing humans, maybe he wasn't a threat to humanity.

[WARNING: 30 Tunnel Crawlers from the nearest nest detected]

Medeia clicked her tongue. It seemed like the tunnel underground connected to each other, so the Tunnel Crawlers would appear one by one unless she destroyed their nests.

"Miss Medeia, I found barrels in the cellar!" shouted Nico.

Medeia immediately rushed to the cellar and saw five wooden barrels on the floor. The surface was covered in dust, but there was no damage.

"Nico, you found treasures!" Medeia approached the barrels with a wide smile on her face.

"I did?"

"This is brandy! Oh, finally I can drink alcohol again," she opened the barrels to smell the sweet scent. "Unfortunately, this is not gasoline, but brandy contains at least 50% alcohol, so this thing can be just as deadly as gasoline."

Nico looked at her in horror, "If they are that dangerous, why would you want to drink them?"

"Relax. Our bodies don't produce fire, so we can drink it as much as we want." She shook her head. "No, you can't drink it yet."

Before Nico could ask the reason, Medeia already spoke again, "Come on, help me bring these barrels upstairs."

Crash!

As soon as Medeia stepped out of the cellar, a Tunnel Crawler broke into the house. It was as tall as the ceiling and it rushed to Medeia.

Medeia threw the poison dagger to the mole, hitting it hand so it couldn't move for a few moments.

Unfortunately, the effect wouldn't last for long.

"Hurry up! Hurry up!" ordered Medeia. "We have to burn their nest before all of them go outside the nest."
