Chapter 25: Comes True.

3rd POV

"Hey, should you be heading to volleyball practice already?" A blonde twin tailed girl asked her friend.

"Uh-huh." The downtrodden beaten up girl responded despondently.

"Are you really okay, you have a bruise above your eye too… Is that injury from practice too?"

"Yeah…" The depressed girl responded.

"You're pushing yourself too hard during practice, aren't you?"

"I'm okay, volleyballs the only thing I'm good at… the only thing I don't mess up…"

Ring-ring Ring-ring

A ringtone of a phone sounded out between the silence of the two friends.

"Shouldn't you take that?"

"No, it's probably just my part time job." the blonde girl deflected.

"I should get going then." The brunette girl stood up from the bench the two were talking on.

Ring-ring Ring-ring

"Shiho! Wait! Are you… sure you're okay?"

"Yeah…" the shoulders of the girl dropped even more as she walked away. Her steps felt heavy as if an iron ball was chained to her.

Ring-ring Ri-

The girl who was left alone finally answered her phone.

"Yes?... Today won't work… I'm not feeling so good… Sorry… Bye."

The blonde left as two other students arrived in front of the waiting area the two girls were talking upon.

"Hey, wasn't that Takamaki?"

"Yeah, rumor has it that she's dating Kamoshida."

"Seriously?"

"I heard people talking that they saw them together in his car. They must have gone to a love hotel together."

"You know, she seems pretty easy, huh? You think I have a chance too? Maybe I can finally lose my V-card, it would be awesome if she's that experienced."

"Bro, you can't go after Kamoshida's bitch. Besides, if she's been with Kamoshida then she wouldn't even feel your tiny prick hahaha."

"Oi! You take that back you asshole! I'm at least average!"

"Average for an Asian! Hahaha!"

"You're Asian too, dick!"

"Haahahaha!"

Riser POV

You know, walking to school and just attending it felt anti-climactic. There was supposed to be some event that pushed the phantom thieves to actually act but so far nothing really happened.

All we did was study, though I didn't really listen, and hang out with Haru.

And Haru was really shy interacting with me at first but warmed up to the idea. Though I wouldn't actually call her shy actually, because everytime I turn around. I could feel her glare at me with hidden bloodlust every time.

She really is projecting her own situation with Rias isn't she.

Though she eventually stopped when she saw how Rias interacted with me.

Rias was now more laid back but…

She was now trying to think critically…

Or at least I think so.

Our talk basically summed up to her remembering her responsibilities and that, this is not a vacation but also a training montage for her.

And well she achieved Kamehameha in our training that day. A kamehameha power of destruction version.

Which yeah, was powerful enough to say the least. She really is childish to try and prove me wrong like that. Though this is also what I wanted, her potential is at least getting some use now unlike before.

It was now the end of the school day and nothing happened yet.

And now we met up again with Ryuji and Ren. This meeting after school thing is becoming a ritual now huh.

"Everybody already knows and no one is gonna do anything, so what can we do?" Ryuji started out.

"Maybe go to the police?" Ren suggested.

"I mean that would be the normal response." I added but…

"Would they believe us over a teacher with perfect records?" Rias questioned.

"Perfect record!? That asshole has no perfect record!"

"I know Ryuji, everyone here knows it but still did nothing. What does that say?" I expanded on him.

"The police are in it too?"

"Maybe, or they're corrupt or they have been told but they don't care and all those things."

"Then what should we do?" Ryuji looked lost.

"I finally found you!" A voice shouted.

A black cat sashayed to where we were meeting.

"Don't think you can get away with not paying me back for helping you guys."

"The cat is talking… the cat is talking! Wait, that voice! Is that you Morgana?"

"Kyaa! You are sooo cute!" Rias lept and hugged Morgana to her chest. "Mph amph mnot a katph." Morgana said something muffled.

"Alright that's enough Rias, so why are you here?" I asked.

"Really dude? You're not gonna question this!?" Ryuji looked at me bewildered.

"Our teacher is an abuser and also wears nothing but a crown naked in a pink castle with guards and all of us have a giant ghost that can do magic. A talking cat is nothing."

Ryuji raised a finger and did the best impression of a goldfish as his mouth opened and closed. "Alright point."

"I AM NOT A CAT!!" The cat got his face out of Rias' ginormous tits.

"Answer the question cat!"

"I am not a cat and I am here to make you repay me. Haa when I came to this world I never thought I would almost die from bliss…"

"Aahh! Does that mean you have a phone!?" A wide eyed Ryuji asked the cat, leave it to him to ask the most important questions.

"Going back, what do you need?" I questioned again.

"I'm here for your benefit, you want to do something about Kamoshida right?"

"Yeah, so?" Ryuji cut in.

"So I can help you guys too, we have the same goal after all."

"Alright explain?" the silent protagonist did one of his short answers, or questions.

"Alright so basically, that castle we all saw is how Kamoshida views your school. He doesn't really realize what happens there but it's deeply connected to the depths of his heart."

Then what the hell did Ren do that he threatened a palace ruler outside the palace with his inner self. I know I didn't just hallucinate that after all.

"Thus if the castle disappears then it would also affect Kamoshida himself."

"So, what'd happen then?" Ryuji once more questioned.

"A palace is a manifestation of a person's distorted desires. So, if that castle is gone…"

"His desires will disappear along with it." Ren finished the thought of Morgana.

"F'real!?" we can guess who said this right?

"Erasing a palace just means forcing the owner to have a change of heart. However, even though their warped desires are gone. Their crimes were still committed. Kamoshida will be unable to bear the weight of those crimes and will confess himself."

"So he will be crushed by guilt, it's like a psychopath suddenly started feeling emotions." I explained to the uneducated.

"Weird analogy but basically yes. And since the palace will be gone, he will forget what we did there as well. Not only will we bring Kamoshida to justice, there will also be no trace of our involvement."

"You're an incredible cat, so how do we get rid of a palace?"

"True but I am not a cat! And we get rid of it by stealing the treasure of the palace. Though I can't tell you more unless you agree."

"I mean like there's any choice for us right?" I questioned the others.

"Do you even need to say it?"

"Of course."

"We can't let those others be abused anymore!" Everyone asserted their consent.

"Be warned though, if we erase a palace, that person's distorted desires will go away. But desires are what we need in order to survive. The will to sleep, eat, fall in love, entertainment, those sorts of things. If all those yearnings suddenly disappear, they will be no different from someone who shut down entirely. They may even die if not properly taken care of. So…"

"Then is it our fault if they die!?"

"Ryuji, we have to be prepared for that kind of responsibility. If he dies then it is a sacrifice for saving others who will be harmed. To be a hero, to save others, you have to sacrifice the few for the many."

"That's… We can't go around killing whoever we want."

"Well, at least one of you has the guts to do it. And it's not like anyone would ever find out."

"You really are heartless aren't you, cat? Telling a couple of teenagers to kill someone. You are more insidious than I thought."

"I… Anyway I'll come back later and make sure you have your decision then." The cat skittered away from us in a panic.

Even I was bewildered by how ruthless that cat really was.

He actually told two kids that it will be fine to kill someone as long as no one finds out about it… What the fuck Morgana? If these were even slightly immoral keds they would absolutely do it. But these two have hearts of gold. They would not want to kill someone even if they are unforgivable.

What the phantom thieves wanted in the end was not revenge, maybe a little bit of revenge but in the end what they stand for was justice, vigilante justice but justice nonetheless.

"We're getting all worked up for nothing! Damnit!" Ryuji kicked a chair in anger.

"We should try and see if we can figure out another way. C'mon let's get out of here."

We all separated after that and went down the stairs from the rooftop.

The rooftop is where we all just hang out now huh, if I remember right it should be forbidden to actually enter there.

We went back to Shibuya. Rias and I just walked together wandering around.

"So what do you think?" Rias asked me finally after the silence we had heading home.

"I think we should do it." There was only one choice for me.

"But we'll be killing a normal human…"

"You kill stray devils all the time, Rias."

"Yes but they deserve it! They endanger other species from devils to humans. They are a danger to all."

"Yes but couldn't you say the same with Kamoshida?"

"I…"

"Think about it Rias, he abuses his students isn't he also endangering them."

"But he's just a human…"

"Sometimes humans are more cruel than devils you know."

"Did you get that line from an anime?"

"You got me, hahaha!" I tried to lighten the mood but the pensive look from Rias still lingered. Yes, think about it slowly, Rias.

In this world, in every world we will come to in the future there will always be consequences to our every action. I know that Kamoshida won't really die but for Rias this is a real problem.

So she has to be the one to answer her own questions. Can she kill someone, someone who was in full control of their actions and not just berserk devils who couldn't think for themselves, furthermore just a normal human.

The supernatural world always tries not to involve ordinary people, those with the potential don't get that luxury like people who have sacred gears and heroic reincarnations but ordinary people are mostly avoided.

Walking around we saw a store that sells smoothies and I went and got myself a mango smoothie while Rias got a banana smoothie.

And we just walked around in silence, both of us having deep thoughts like a 14 year old would do.

Then I saw Ren running around, chasing after something. 

What? What is he doing? Looking ahead I can see a blonde girl, Ann Takamaki running with tears in her eyes trying to avoid Joker.

Wait… This seems familiar… Oh yeah, there was a cutscene where Ann was crying to Joker confessing her feelings about how trapped she feels and how there are rumors floating around. And that it wasn't really true.

And that she was crying because she was avoiding Kamoshi…

Oh shit! I forgot! How could I be so stupid!

I turned around and started sprinting.

"Wait! Riser! Where are you going!?"

I turned to an alleyway and let out my devil wings.

"Riser! What if someone saw you!?"

"No time! I gotta go to school! Meet me there!"

"Wait!"

I flew up and my flaming wings stabilized me, I wasn't really that used to using this technique yet but fuck it.

"Blue!"

I used blue to teleport me short distances towards the school

I wasn't that confident in using it yet so I used my wings to stabilize me while I was teleporting to the school.

There were a few times where I almost fell but overall a good first time flight test for the new technique.

I arrived at the school and I saw Rias standing in front of it.

"How did you get here so fast?"

I questioned her while running towards the school entrance.

"I teleported here, I marked an alleyway with a magic circle just in case we were late. I can't believe it but did you not do that?"

"No! I forgot about it okay I was stupid now drop it please!"

"Fine but I'm not gonna let you live this down! Where are we going anyway?"

Running inside the school I turned towards the gym office, in other words, the heart of where Kamoshida does his abuses.

"Aagh! Please! Please stop! Ugh! Nooo! Please! Help! Someone!"

Shit!

I grasped the doorknob and found it locked, fuck. I kicked the door down and what greeted me boiled my blood even more.

In the games it was implied, in the animation she was shown being beaten up but it was still implied. I don't really see what is implied here. Because it was plain to see what actually is happening.

Hey guys!!! We're nearing the climax of the arc and then we are going back to DxD for a bit. I have a rough plan of what will happen but nothing concrete yet.

Oh btw Blue lock manga is going crazy right now. Bro anime is ehh~~ but the manga is insane, best chapter yet. Isagoat is boasting that he will win the world cup. It's gonna be so embarrassing if he fails.

Imagine the whole world hearing you boast about winning the world cup and trash talking about all the best players only to be humbled, I would laugh my ass off if that happened to Isagi. But he's cooking right now.

And Wuwa is so good man, why is it so good?
