The live stream quickly became the most popular, shooting to the top of the rankings.
Jason Liu's account also leveled up to 27.
"Ahhh!"
Qiqi screamed with excitement. "Thank you so much, Single Dog Brother! You're so handsome! I love you, love you! Thanks for the huge gift! Qiqi loves you!"
[24K Single Dog]: Keep dancing, I really enjoy watching you. I'll keep supporting you!
[24K Single Dog]: Gotta go now.
After sending the gift, Jason Liu left the stream.
Qiqi was stunned for a moment—what a strange guy! Who just drops such a big gift and leaves without asking for a performance or something?
Still, she quickly recovered and said loudly, "Thank you, Single Dog Brother, for your amazing support! I'll do more beautiful dances in the future!"
Because of the gift explosion, many viewers joined in. Qiqi immediately started dancing again, hoping to gain more followers.
The live stream went on until 10 p.m., but Qiqi was exhausted from all the dancing. She had to stop, feeling so tired she could almost collapse.
Her assistant, makeup artist, beautician, nutritionist, and nanny, Luo Yuzhen, excitedly said, "You did great today! Aside from the big gift from Single Dog Brother, the other tips combined have brought in more than 20,000!"
Luo Yuzhen, 25, is an agent for actors. She's fairly new to the job and hasn't signed any artists yet. After graduating, she didn't have the connections or experience to attract any students eager to break into the entertainment industry.
Despite her average looks, Luo Yuzhen had always been drawn to the glamorous world of show business. Even though she faced many rejections, she didn't give up. She struggled through hard times, eating cheap food and drinking bottled water every day, while waiting outside theater gates, hoping for a break.
Then one day, by chance, she met Su Qiqi, an 18-year-old girl with long black hair, tall legs, a delicate face, and a voice so sweet it could melt hearts. Luo Yuzhen knew immediately that Qiqi had star potential and followed her, determined to become her manager.
Of course, Qiqi knew she was beautiful. She had just gotten into the top drama school in the capital and had her sights set on the entertainment industry. When a random, average-looking woman approached her, offering to be her manager and handle her daily tasks, Su's first reaction was to turn her down.
After all, when she first got into school, small film and television companies had already waved checks in her face. They offered signing bonuses worth millions. But the contracts came with 20-year terms and massive penalties for breaking them. Su quickly dismissed the idea of signing up with them.
Besides, with social media like Weibo and WeChat exposing the dirty side of showbiz, Su Qiqi wasn't naive. She had gotten into drama school with the top score that year, and she knew full well that those companies had bad intentions.
So she rejected them all and decided to focus on her studies first. She figured she'd join a bigger, more reputable company later.
At first, she didn't want to entertain Luo Yuzhen either, but Luo persisted, talking about her development plans, image building, and future career goals. Some of it intrigued Su.
As they kept talking, Qiqi began to see that Luo wasn't just a scammer. Over the next few months, Luo Yuzhen tried hard to impress her, running errands, fetching food, and helping with anything Su needed.
Eventually, though, Su told her, "My main focus is studying right now. I'm not ready to start in the entertainment industry."
Luo Yuzhen felt betrayed after all her hard work, but she didn't give up. She investigated Su's family background and discovered something interesting—her mother and Su's mother were from the same village and had grown up together. They hadn't seen each other in years, but once they reconnected, the two families bonded and even had a celebration.
Su Qiqi, a bit embarrassed, offered a cup of tea to Luo and said, "Who would've guessed, Sister Yuzhen, that our moms knew each other! If I'd known that, I never would've treated you that way!"
Luo wasn't angry anymore and just smiled. "You're really something, Qiqi. I've been in the business for two years, and I got played by a teenager like you!"
Su stuck out her tongue playfully. "I didn't know our families had that connection. I thought you were just another scammer!"
Luo laughed and admired her young friend's sharp instincts.
Su's mother, a calm and elegant nurse, spoke up. "Qiqi, don't you want to become a star someday? Your sister Yuzhen is an agent—let her manage you! That way, your dad and I won't have to worry about you navigating the entertainment world alone."
Su's father, a surgeon, nodded in agreement. "Yes, your mother is right. With Sister Yuzhen looking out for you, we'll feel much better."
