Evil chief maid Sarah

Anabel stood up immediately and bowed slightly, "Prince Kaius," she gritted politely while reeling with excitement.

Kaius was the second prince who doted on Princess Katy. Prince Kaius of the Ashar Empire, a strategic genius and a handsome devil. His distinctive features were his tall build, slightly muscular body, blue rough hair, and bright cyan eyes.

Of all of them, Kaius was the kindest. The three kingdoms, Ashar, Eusteria, and Voldar, were currently working on a strategy for partnership together with Katy's kingdom, Azurea. For this reason, the firstborn sons of each kingdom saw Princess Katy frequently, which led to them falling for her ethereal beauty.

Anabel bit down on her lower lip in excitement, Kaius looked so much more handsome in real life.

Kaius chuckled watching her eyes glimmer in delight. He mistook her expression for embarrassment and bent over to pick a flower. Anabel froze up as he placed it in her hair. Her tense shoulders relaxed when he said "It looks good on you."

Anabel smiled in response. Kaius was completely in contrast with Caesar, who was arrogant and prideful. Kaius always showed kindness, he had a heart of gold, ready to help whenever. Sadly, his heart remained yearning for Princess Katy's love.

A love that was never returned. At the thought of this, Anabel's smile faded. Kaius noticed this, but when he was about to ask what the problem was, his gaze landed on a red mark on her cheek.

He reached out but Anabel recoiled.

"ANABEL!" Sarah's voice tore through the serenity of the garden. Anabel narrowed her eyes and frowned. What did that woman want now? Not wanting to see or meet Sarah, Anabel looked left and right, looking for a place to hide.

Kaius watched her with fascination in his eyes, he wondered how a person was able to say this much with just their face. He chuckled lightly "I know a place you can hide"

He took her by hand, into the garden's bush maze. They both sat on the grass behind the old well, panting.

Anabel could still hear faint calls from Sarah. She looked at Kaius with a smile filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Your Highness, Prince Kaius."

"You're a maid, but you're running away from work," Kaius simpered.

Pouting, Anabel mumbled, "I'm a superstar idol, not a maid." There was a short silence between them, Anabel analyzed the place she was. She had only seen this place once, this was where Kaius formally shared his feelings with Katy and got rejected.

Kaius caught Anabel's wandering eyes and asked "Beautiful isn't it?" He asked and she nodded. He continued "The princess and I used to play here a lot when we were little."

"You were childhood friends with Princess Katy?" Anabel asked despite knowing. Kaius and Katy's relationship as friends was a big plot in the game's story.

Kaius nodded. "I plan to tell her how I feel right here. Maybe she'll finally notice and reciprocate my feelings"

'Oh honey' thought Anabel. 'Confessing will only lead to your depression, Prince Kaius'.

Kaius chuckled "I probably shouldn't be talking like this in front of a maid"

Anabel smiled. "Nah, it's okay, I totally get it. Even royals, sometimes, need someone to talk to." Her words surprised him. Never once has a maid spoken to him so casually. He couldn't help the smile curling up on his lips.

He said "Right now, my only wish is that Katy would accept me as her escort to her coming-of-age ceremony"

Anabel watched him with a pitied expression. She nibbled her lower lip. The coming-of-age ceremony is when Katy finally turns 23 and is at the age of marriage. It is quite common for the princess to be escorted by whom she intends to marry. In other words, the man she loves.

But judging by how she fawns over Ceaser, she would choose him and no one else.

In Anabel's opinion, Kaius deserves to be the one. Ceaser is too arrogant and rude to her; he doesn't deserve the princess.

"I'll help!" Anabel stood up in high spirits.

"Pardon?" Kaius's brows creased.

"You said it's your wish for Princess Katy to love you, right?" Anabel asked and Kaius nodded, unsure of where this was going. "Then I'll help you. You might be the princess's childhood friend, but there's a lot I know, and you don't. Besides, I'm…her maid" The last part of the sentence felt like soggy bread in Anabel's mouth.

Kaius, fascinated by her confidence, asked, "What things do you know that I don't?" his voice was skeptical.

Anabel's lips lifted in a prideful smirk. "Well, did you know that Her Highness's favorite color is blue?"

"Impossible!" Kaius exclaimed,

"It's true. Just because her eyes are crimson doesn't mean she likes the color. I bet if you gift the princess a blue pendant, you might just win her heart" Anabel explained.

In fact, the blue pendant was offered by Ceaser a week before Katy's coming-of-age ceremony. Having Kaius give her earlier instead will make Ceaser's present in the future seem like an act of copying.

"You might be right" Kaius nodded in acknowledgement. He stood up. "Why are you willing to help me?" He asked, "What's in it for you?"

Anabel simply lowered her head. "Prince Kaius helped me escape from evil chief maid Sarah; this is my way of repaying his kindness." And to have revenge on Ceaser for locking me up, thought Anabel with a mischievous grin.

"What is your name?" Kaius asked

The question was simple yet complicated. Is she Katy Sharp? Or is she Anabel San?. The mind belonged to Katy but the appearance and body belonged to Anabel.

Still unsure, she answered "I'm...Anabel."

"Well Anabel, I'll try what you have suggested and buy Katy a blue pendant," said Kaius

Anabel added "And I'll try to speak in your favor to the princess". At that moment, Anabel looked rather very cute, like a kitten. Kaius found himself ruffling her hai, and retrieved his hand when he finally noticed what he was doing.

Anabel looked at his clothes "Ah because of me your clothes have been dirtied, your highness"

Kaius looked at himself and chuckled "Speak for yourself Anabel, your clothes are grime. You must go change, one who serves the princess must be clean at all times"

With a smile, Anabel nodded and left.

Anabel came out of the maze bush. What she did first was check if the coast was clear of Sarah and when she didn't see her anywhere, she moved.

"There you are!" Sarah jumped out of nowhere and grabbed Anabel's arm.
