chapter 13

MORGANA

Xavier?" Elijah nudged him. "Is something wrong?"

"You have to go on your own. If there's still time left, I'll come to see what's happening."  Xavier threw the words at him.

"But you are the king and.."

"Can't you take care of this little thing I'm asking you to do?" Xavier responded rudely.

"Alright man." Elijah responded and then turned to me. "Morgana, Dinner? I'll be back by 7:00pm to pick you up." He said, running off to the car which was parked outside the garden.

I was surprised too when I found out that they knew each other. Elijah had introduced himself as a simple guy so how did he get to know Xavier.

"What were you doing?" Xavier asked me, bringing me back to reality. I looked at him, slightly upset at the question but his handsomeness wouldn't let me stay angry for long.

"What do you mean?" I asked him, crossing my hands. "I made a new friend today and I'm happy about that." I was really excited that I had met someone new today. This meant a new beginning for me and my heart was beating faster.

"Why do you look so excited because you met Elijah?" He asked me. "You didn't look this excited when we met."

"You know his name?" I asked, closing the distance between us in excitement. "How do you know Elijah? Your best friend?"

"I'll answer you when you answer and tell me why you were smiling so much. You even held his hand huh?"

I didn't know what Xavier's tone sounded like and I didn't care. It actually got me very upset. Why does he care about what happens to me and who I speak to. Afterall, he didn't want to speak to me, anyway.

He led me into the Palace where he kept bombarding me wiry questions like a child who had lost her mother in a supermarket.

"What were you doing with Elijah huh?" He asked. He was disturbed but I still couldn't reason why he was so angry that I was talking to a stranger.

"Why do you sound so angry?" I asked.

"Because I am. You can't keep speaking to anyone that you don't know." He grumbled like a child who had been asked to stop playing in the sand.

"Anyway, I have to prepare for Dinner." I said, acting uninterested in what he was saying.

"I don't want you to go.." Je was saying but I interrupted him.

"Unfortunately, it's not up to you in any way."

"What are you trying to say? You need to be safe here at the Palace, you don't even know anyone."

"I met someone today and I'm so excited. Elijah is nice…"

"Elijah is my brother." He announced and at first, when I looked at him, he looked serious. "I know the kind of person he is and I don't want you to leave the Palace."

I didn't want to sound rude but I wanted to prove to Xavier that the world truly didn't revolve around him. Keeping me here like I was a box of gifts in the Palace and coming to pick me up whenever he wished wasn't right.

"Your brother looks good and I like his personality. He seems to be a kind man and someone that can do anything for their loved ones…"

"Are you actually trying to make me jealous?" Xavier asked, laughing. "Can you just stop now?

It's so brave of you to think that I want to leave this Palace and make something of my life because you think I'm trying to make you jealous. That's so pathetic. You are the one who has a fiancée so I don't see how you are affected by what I do."

"Again? This talk about my fiancée.. "

"Go get married to her and let me be. I'm grateful you saved me but I just realized that you were just returning the favor and it meant nothing to you." I looked at him sadly, then looked away.

"Come on, Morgana.."

"I would appreciate it if you stopped coming here, I really don't like seeing your face." I said to him.

I knew that what I had said had left him in thoughts because he didn't do anything more. I remembered he told me that this marriage was never something that he didn't want so when he walked away, I felt bad.

I had once been in his shoes when I was mated to marry Alpha Logan. After hearing horrible things about him, I knew that getting married to him was a death wish but I had no choice. I was a weak omega who was lucky to be mated to the man almost all the ladies would die for.

I mean, apart from his ruthlessness, Alpha Logan was everything a woman would ever want. He had strong arms and shoulders and was very handsome too. So yes, I know how King Xavier felt but the situation was a little bit complicated for me, then. I was a weak omega and I had no one to speak for me but he's the king, he could cancel his engagement if he wants.

I don't know if it was just pity or anything else but a part of me didn't want Xavier to get married to anyone else. After the day, he saved, he made a mark on me. No one has ever stood by me the way he did at Moonstone Park when he barged in, asking Alpha Logan and Nina to kneel before me.

Everytime, I remembered that, a smile would always appear on my face. What he did that day was romantic and It made me fall for him over again.

"Hmm." I took a deep breath, maybe it wasn't meant to be." I was going to sulk and feel bad all through the night but then I remembered that I had dinner with Elijah. I couldn't believe that he didn't tell me that he was the King's brother, I would have treated him much better.

I smiled as I called in Emily and Sally to help me pick out some clothes which Xavier had asked them to get for me since I came with nothing.

"You're going to Dinner with Sir. Elijah?" Sally asked and I could hear the excitement in her voice.

"Of course."
