89: MIB

Natasha had approached Lyon about the matter.

She believed the time to wipe out Hydra had come: "Lyon, when should we start the operation?"

"Wait a little longer, let Nick Fury stew in the information for a bit."

Tony had previously sent Nick Fury an email containing a list of Hydra members within S.H.I.E.L.D. It had been long enough, and the results of that should be surfacing by now.

Lyon stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the traffic flow through the streets of Brooklyn. He could practically hear Nick Fury angrily cursing somewhere across the city in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters.

"Be patient, Natasha. The right moment will come soon."

"But don't let this time go to waste."

"The Widow agents have just been enhanced. The old tactics of stealth and fast strikes won't work anymore."

"They need to develop new combat styles that align with their enhanced abilities."

"Take Yelena and start training the Widows to master their new strength, and by the way, finish the renovations on the building."

"And of course, the mission to rescue the remaining Widows must continue."

"Trust me, Nick Fury won't keep us waiting much longer," Lyon reassured.

Natasha nodded. "Understood."

A week later.

There was still no movement from Nick Fury...

However, the new organization's headquarters had completed its final touches of decoration.

Widow agents from all over the world had been liberated. Out of more than three hundred agents, including Natasha and her sister, a total of 313 had stayed and joined Lyon's ranks.

When they first met, Lyon had personally examined each of them.

None had been brainwashed by any other organization, nor were there any Skrulls among them. They were trustworthy.

On this particular day, in the top-floor conference room of the headquarters, Lyon had gathered all 300-plus agents.

This room, although called a conference room, was actually designed more like a large assembly hall.

At the far end of the hall was a semicircular platform.

On either side of the room stood Roman-style carved columns.

The walls were a yellowish-brown, exuding an air of history. Even the large door to the meeting room was made of iron, etched with images of Christian saints.

Lyon stood on the high platform, dressed in his Superman uniform, looking as solemn as a priest of an ancient Greek temple about to address his congregation.

And the "followers" below, standing on the steps, gazed up at him with reverence and anticipation, waiting for him to declare the divine decree.

"Ladies and gentlemen, today marks the official founding of our organization."

Lyon stood tall on the stage, arms crossed over his chest, his cape silently billowing behind him.

"Your decision to join fills me with pride.

Despite knowing nothing about the organization's principles or objectives, You chose to join unconditionally out of trust and gratitude toward me.

That is something that deeply moves me.

I can assure you, you will never regret the decision you made today."

"But let me be clear from the very beginning:

From the moment this organization is established, and for an indefinite future, there will only be one core purpose and mission.

That is to serve me.

The reason I saved you all is solely for that.

If anyone has any objections, you can voice them now."

Lyon scanned the room, looking at all the Widows present. He waited a few seconds, yet not a single person showed any dissatisfaction.

In fact, some of them even displayed expressions of excitement, their eyes gleaming and bodies trembling slightly.

If it weren't for the solemnity of the meeting, Lyon felt that some of them might have been unable to hold back from enthusiastically shouting their allegiance to Superman.

Especially Yelena—her eyes darted around, alternating between joy and a dazed expression, as if lost in thought.

Lyon smirked slightly and continued speaking.

"It seems like no one has any objections."

"Now, I announce:

The 'Men in Black' organization is officially established!

From this moment on, you are the first members of the organization and will be its core in the future.

The primary purpose of this organization is to serve me.

The secondary objective, however, is to protect... ahem, our planet Earth!"

Lyon thought borrowing the name from the "Men in Black" franchise, also part of the Marvel Universe, seemed fitting.

He paced on the stage and waved his hand, projecting holographic images throughout the hall.

"The reason for this is simple..."

"This world is not just what you've known—the organizations and powers you've encountered."

"Beneath the surface, our Earth faces threats from alien beings from the far reaches of the universe."

The projection showed a series of green-skinned aliens.

"And there are also hidden supernatural forces."

The image shifted to the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj and the villagers of K'un-Lun who wielded mystical energies.

All of these were special effects personally created by Lyon.

"And the so-called gods who, in name, rule over our planet!"

A projection of Odin and Thor appeared at the center of the hall.

The Widow agents were all stunned.

They had never realized that the world was so vast and incredible, having always believed that the Red Room was one of the top-tier forces in existence.

Lyon then shifted his tone.

"Some of these beings may not have friendly intentions. Some pose as the guardians of this world, while others pretend to be friendly but secretly covet this planet."

"What we, the Men in Black, must do is hide in the shadows and eliminate these external threats before they even take root!"

In the Marvel Universe, world-ending crises seem to pop up from time to time.

Some threats might come from powerful multiversal figures, while others could arise from an unassuming scientist or an ambitious entrepreneur.

This planet always seems to edge towards destruction in various ways.

Lyon believed it was essential to create a lock to intercept these threats before they could materialize.

Lyon continued with a rallying cry, lifting his arm high.

"But we are not here to be the world's babysitters."

He then shouted passionately, "We are the Men in Black, a web and a sword hanging over everyone's heads, to strike down any threat from outside or within!"

"Now, everyone, swear this oath with me!"

Lyon floated in midair, while all the Widow agents raised their arms in unison.

He spoke each word with precision: "Remember!

When all are deceived by the illusion of peace and misled by the so-called truth,

We will always believe,

That all is illusion!"

The Widow agents chanted in unison, following Lyon's lead.

"When morality shackles mankind and the law binds justice,

We shall never forget,

"All is illusion!"

The entire group repeated the words in unison, their voices powerful and resolute, reverberating through the room.

"Finally, remember the Men in Black's guiding principle—leading this chaotic world until it reaches ultimate peace," Lyon declared as he slowly descended from his levitated position.

"The oath is complete!"

As the oath concluded, every Widow agent stood in solemn reflection of the vow they had just taken.

They could feel the immense weight of responsibility settle over them—a burden carried in the unseen shadows, away from the eyes of the world.

Their eyes burned with newfound conviction, as they silently etched the oath into their hearts. At that moment, the figure of Lyon, standing with his cape billowing above them, became their beacon of strength and a mentor to their wills.

With a snap of Lyon's fingers, the heavy iron doors of the conference room swung open automatically.

*Cheo—Swoosh! Swoosh!*

Three hundred and thirteen sleek, jet-black suits of armor flew into the room, one for each agent.

"These armors each hold a set of black suits," Lyon said as the armors hovered in front of each Widow agent, each one stopping precisely in front of its intended wearer.

"The armors and suits in front of you are your future battle gear and uniforms," Lyon explained.

These armors had been crafted by Lyon himself in the Resident Evil world. Over there, he was a savior, able to mobilize global resources, so creating over 300 sets of armor had been an effortless task for him.

The design of the armors was inspired by Tony Stark's Mark V suit from the movies, which could compactly fold into a briefcase. They were powered by a newly developed arc reactor, using a new element for sustained energy, making it convenient for the agents to operate globally.

The Widows, gazing at the armors, perfectly fitted to their dimensions, were all filled with excitement. Yelena, in particular, hugged her armor and spun around in delight, showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

At this point, Lyon gestured with both hands, signaling everyone to quiet down.

"From now on, your armor and suit will be your uniform," he declared.

"From now on, your title will no longer be 'Widows,' but 'Men in Black!'" Lyon announced.

"You are the Men in Black, hidden in the shadows, serving the light!"

"Your code names will be changed to follow alphabetical order. Natasha will be Agent N, Yelena will be Agent Y."

"For everyone else, the same applies, using the letters from your names. If there are duplicates, then use double or triple letters."

The agents all responded in unison, accepting the black suits carried by their armors and immediately changing into their new uniforms.

Thus, the "Men in Black," who would later become known throughout the Marvel Universe, were officially born.

However, these agents would not be known solely as the "Men in Black." In the future, everyone would come to know that their leader was Superman. These agents would also be referred to as the "Black-Clad Nuns under the God of Earth," or as the "Valkyries."
