Still Dreaming  

Ba'dqeel's simple question was enough to make my stomach churn. It was the first thing that my husband had said to me when we got married, and it was one of the nicer things that Lucifer had ever said to me when I was about to free him.

 

'Are you ready? ' To me, this phrase was more stress-inducing than any 'we need to talk' phrase I have ever heard.

 

But like every other time I had heard that phrase, it wasn't like I had much of a choice in the matter.

 

"As ready as I'll ever be," I smiled up at him, knowing full well that he couldn't see the expression on my face. "Let's end this once and for all."

 

Nodding his head, he quickly glanced over the rest of my mates and then opened the massive wooden door in front of us.

 

We filed in silently, and I saw the Rein sitting on his couch without a care in the world. Swirling what looked to be a glass of wine in his hand, his face was twisted in a smirk.
