Chapter 16 - Adjusting to the new Evolution

Garrett finally woke up nearly 10 hours later. He was told so by his system letting him know his evolution had completed. And he was shocked at the requirements of it for his evolution to have taken place at all.

Player Garrett has become the first super human player! Requirements for Super Human evolution had been fulfilled during dungeon dive. As such had to happen after the dungeon was completed to take effect. Requirements for Super Human evolution. All stats must be higher than 120 with one stat being 180+. Player entered into a 10 hour hibernation state to complete evolution. Now player has entered the levels of physical and mental abilities of those like Captain America, Tifa Lockheart, and most exosuit wearing humans. This is not to be taken lightly as Player has evolved during the tutorial despite all obstacles having been placed in front of him to delay or even prevent such a thing by @!$%^# But the system has allowed you to do so by its mercy. Garrett has questions to ponder about that information. After all who the heck was @!$%^#? And what did it mean the system allowed him to do this and achieve super human with its mercy? And what about what the alpha said? The one who made this system and the system are working together. But based on this message he has gained the systems interest but not the interest of the one who made it...

"Aaaaaaaauuuuuuugh! Why is this so complicated?! I only have another 12 hours in tutorial mode and I am stuck with these huge mysteries that everyone and their undead grandmother keep pouring onto me! Can't I have some easy answers for once?!" Garrett pants hard as he calms down and thinks. First he has evolved.

That's good.

He has gained the interest and mercy of the system.

That's both good and bad depending on the systems intentions in the long run.

The creator of this system seems to not like him.

That's bad.

And someone caused this in the first place and probably FUBAR this whole scenario and the whole world is like this now. He will need help.

He now has a clue from the alpha. He needs to speak to General Byers and see if he can't get any information from the man. But he will approach that when he gets to it. For now he needs to figure out how to approach his new physique. He has grown again. And is now more impressive than before. He goes to a mirror in the employee room of this store and gazes at his stats and physique in the mirror.

Store points - 223,100 +50k = 273,100

He then looked at his now more impressive body as he flexes and admires it in the mirror.

His height had increased by a bit more, now a solid 6 ft 8 inches. He was sporting an 8 pack, a v line, very defined muscles that looked to have been made from iron, and his body has the feeling of omnipotence now. He also checks his package... only to go wide eyed at his now 5 inch while flaccid member. it hangs there in front of a pair of ping pong sized orbs in his sack. He wonders how big it will be when hard but shelves that thought for later. He looks at his reflection while doing some shadowboxing and sees that his arms for jabs and punches are now a blur. He is shocked at this change as he throws in some kicks and some powerful combos. He grins to himself at this point now knowing that he has a solid physique and ability that allows others to count on him for most threats.

But Garrett knows he can't get complacent. If he coasts on these stats and his growth then he will become zombie chow as the zombies continue to grow stronger. If he continues to grow then he can aid his fellow survivors and allow them to become a powerful group together that can allow them to survive until this whole situation is solved. But first he has to check the area and see what is left of any new zombie dungeons before heading back to city hall.

He puts back on his clothes and equips his weapons. Noticing that his sword and knife from dragon quest now feel a bit too light in his hands. But he will use the shop right now to fix that.

Using the gift of one free 10k point item or less from the shop he grabs a 10k iron Broadsword from the Dragon quest tab for his equipment. The 5ft long blade appears in his hands and settles into his grip with a solid feeling to it. He grins as he puts it on his back with his sword holster that pops open thanks to a piece of equipment he had on hand from the survival store for carrying large packs or items on the backs of hikers with easy removal needs.

He settles in and smiles to himself wiht his new blade glinting in the sun. He gazes at his sword and nods to himself as he figures, "One of the squad will more than likely love the sword. Especially if they can use it to help them gain points quickly in this first official survival week. I can't wait to help them get their first items and point crystals to aid in their abilities. With this squad, and me leading them... I think we can survive this whole mess and figure out what happened and who did it."

Garrett nods to himself with a resolute and serious face as he gazes at the sky. Knowing this will be a long battle ahead with the mystery involved that the Alpha left for him to figure out.

And he knows that if he wants to tackle an alpha in this upcoming week he will need to get at least 60 points more to every stat.

Garrett has a plan and begins to hunt. However he did too good of a job yesterday. Besides 2 beginner dungeons and about 50 wandering groups of zombies he seems to have cleared the entirety of Redmond. He scratches his head a bit and goes, "I wonder if I over did it in my mad dash to earn those points. Well at least it shows that the dungeons do grow back over time. We will just need to spend the first day or two training and practicing after we see how many points they have saved over the last few days. Their first order of business is to grow their stats. Then their equipment. Guns still work for now but we will need upgrades going forward."

Garrett looks to his anime and video game tabs again. Pulling up two worlds he figures would be good helpers for advanced weaponry. Dragonball Z, pulling up Bulma Briefs with 2 million for her cost. Garrett hums to himself in thought, "That checks out, she isn't a fighter. But her inventions and knowledge has helped the main group in this anime more than in simply hunting quests. She would be a good person to bring up for weapons and in helping build things like indoor farms, robots to aid us in protection needs and so on."

He then glances at the Naruto tab, looking at the skilled healers for instance. But the weakest of the medical ninjas like Shizune are still a minimum of 25 million. He was going to wait before looking at that tab again. However he looks over instead at the game tab. And opens up Overwatch.

He gazes as the various characters, knowing each one will be useful in their own right. Junker queen is good for melee and using her knowledge of junk weaponry for the ruined stores and cars. Mei is good for helping Bulma given her scientific mind and Garrett believes the two should be able to become friends in this world to help their people out. But Tracer is good too, a good long to mid range fighter with excellent dodging capabilities. There is also Kiriko who has support magic and good combat abilities. While the males have a good range from Genji and his immunity to zombie bites and infection, Reinhardt with his armor and combat abilities, and Bastion with him being a robot and being effective to work with their people and being a good scout to enjoy this world with his need to be at peace.

But each character at their lowest price was around 7 million. Mei being the 7 mil. Kiriko being around 15 mil. Junker Queen being 12 mil. Tracer being 16 mil. And the males being between 12 to 25 mil.

No matter what he chooses he has a lot of saving up to do to prepare to summon help. He has his voucher but Garrett has decided to use it to break 1 mil and buy Bulma to help them out with their tech and survivor gear. It will help in the long run.

Now comes the biggest hurdle. Saving up for that many points. He barely has 250k let alone 1 mil. Luckily he has his points, and he has the first non tutorial survival week with double points to ensure he can save up now.

Garrett looks up to the sky which is now setting in sunlight and has checked in with the City Hall camp to let them know his patrol is almost finished. He gets an understanding answer from the General and his mind goes back to the Alpha. Can he trust General Bryers? Or is he going to need to keep an eye on him now?

Many questions rattle around his head as he makes his way back to the camp and to what will hopefully be the future.
