“Good morning sir,” she bowed and then looked up, his eyes widening in horror the moment their eyes met. “I'm Emily Davis……” He was the city's most renowned and desired billionaire. Who wouldn't like Alexander Knight? He was simply every girl's dream except hers, Emily Davis who would gladly pick the latest car over him. What happens when she is forced to work for him? Will this be the beginning of a love story or the beginning of her doom?
EMILY'S STANDPOINT
There were worse things than experiencing a heartbreak and one of it was having to choose from thousands of cringing dresses to make my old man satisfied.
"This is one of our first collections," the salesgirl smiled and I forced a smile on my face, pretending to be following her, whereas I just wanted to butt out of here and never return.
"It's the best choice for ladies that desire to win a man's heart. It will capture the heart of any man in one glance and make them desire you. You simply become irresistible."
I scoffed, eyeing the dress in disgust, there was no possible way I was going to ever wear that.
"Would you love to try it out?" The ginger haired sales girl asked, looking all cheerful about making me testing the dress and it irritated me.
"I don't think I'll..."
"Yes, she will love to try out the dress," Aunty Tessy interrupted, giving me no chance to decline and I glared at her.
"Perfect," the girl cheered, picking the dress up and a few others my annoying aunty thought would look great on me as well. Technically, I didn't pick any dresses because they were simply not to my taste.
"Follow me." Twirling around, she headed towards the dressing room and I stood still, not moving an inch.
"Don't just stand there," Aunty Tessy ebbed me in the side.
"Follow her."
I rolled my eyes, reluctantly moving my feets that preferred being rooted to one place and followed the ginger haired girl.
Getting changed in one of the dresses, I dragged my feet out, frowning and Aunty Tessy clapped loudly, attracting stares to me.
"She just had to make this more annoying," I muttered under my breath, trying to stretch my legs but the dress restricted me from doing that.
"I can't take this dress, it's too tight," I complained.
"But it's beautiful."
"I can't stretch my legs and the dress is choking the life out of me," I gasped for breath dramatically and those that watched me laugh, amused by my behavior. Aunty Tessy simply shook her head, her excitement dying down. Once again, I embarrass my sweet aunty.
"Fine, go try the other dresses," Aunty Tessy rolled her eyes, sending me back into the dressing room and I smiled, glad to have gotten rid of at least one cringy dress. I had 9 more dresses to go through with.
Stepping of the dressing room for the tenth time, Aunty Tessy's mouth flew open, seeing me. I'd admit, out of all the torturous dresses I was forced to wear, this one was the most gorgeous of all and it went well with my olive tanned skin, complimenting my purple colored hair. Not to mention the fact that it was black.
"Reject this dress and I swear on my dead mother's grave that I'll make you go dumb for the rest of your life so you won't be able to reject dresses anymore," Aunty Tessy threatened and I rolled my eyes, holding back a smile.
"Oh my God, I'm so frightened," I shivered dramatically, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I'm serious Emily," she deadpanned.
Talk about dramatic, I huffed, admiring myself one more time in the mirror.
"I think I actually love this one." For the first time, I was saying yes to a dress and I'm quite surprised. Doesn't mean I fancy dresses now, as a matter of fact, I still hate them and believe some of them should be torched.
"Thank you Mother Mary," Aunty Tessy sighed in relief and the ginger haired girl giggled in amusement.
I'm quite impressed with the fact that the salesgirl hasn't gotten frustrated with me yet. Most people tend to find me annoying after spending just a minute with me.
Well, it's not my fault that I'm way above them and too amazing to associate myself with them.
"Since you've gotten yourself a dress at least, I think I'll look around and equally get myself one."
"Alright," I simply replied, heading towards the dressing room to get changed back in my very comfy clothes.
"Try not to get into any trouble Emily," she yelled from outside.
"Try not to fall in love with any cute dude you see!" I yelled back and I heard her cuss as she walked away, her heels clicking on the floor.
I got out of the dressing room, dressed in my cargo pants and big black shirt, and the salesgirl smiled at me.
"Anything else you would want to check out?" She asked, still smiling and I couldn't help but wonder if her mouth wasn't aching her yet from having to smile too much.
"I don't think so," I handed the dress to her, so she could package it.
"I'm just going to look around and if anything else catches my attention I'll ring you up." She nodded, satisfied, and walked away with the dress.
Walking around and checking the dresses they have, a luxurious car pulled over in front of the boutique.
"Oh my fucking God!" I gaped at the car from the show glass, drooling. It was a Volkswagen ID Buzz, the latest car in town.
But my joy was short-lived the moment I saw who walked out of this beautiful masterpiece. It was none other than, Alexander Knight Roberts.
Every girl in the building that watched him step out went into an uproar. I was the only sane one who wasn't moved by the presence of Washington DC most desired bachelor.
While the ladies pushed themselves, trying to get a glimpse of him as he walked into the building, I simply admired the beautiful masterpiece before me. As far as I was concerned, it was the most desirable thing to me right now.
"I wonder what's so special about Alexander Knight, he's not even 80% handsome as the magazines describe him to be," I smiled at the Volkswagen as though it could hear me.
"What did you just say?" Three girls surrounded me, looking pissed.
"Excuse you," I turned around, quirking my eyebrows at them. Where the hell did they come out from?
"Did you just call our Alexander ugly?" The one that seemed to be the leader of their little group asked and I scoffed, understanding what this was all about.
Alexander might have internal bodyguards, trying to keep him safe from fans and haters but he also have external bodyguards who happen to be his fans that gang up against anyone who talks shit about him.
Funny thing, the bitches are not even being paid for trying to fight for him. He doesn't even know of their existence.
"If your ears are functioning well, you should have heard me rightly when I said he is not 80% as fine as the magazines describe him to be," I retorted, not backing down from the fight that they've posed before me.
"You must equally be blind to think so," one of the girls clapped back at me and I eyed her stature frowning.
"I thought only humans are allowed in here? Who let a rat in?" She gasped and the others gritted their teeths in anger.
"You," she soon recovered, and glared at me while I admired my fingers, finding her face too boring to look at.
"How dare you call me a rat?" She squealed loudly, sounding like a rat, for real and then attacked me with her designers bag.
Grabbing the bag before it could hit me, I dragged her to the floor, whipping her face hardly on the floor and she cried out in pain.
"Kezzy!" The other girls rushed to her side and I huffed. She was too weak and her movements too slow.
I turned around ready to leave when the rest other girls sprang up, their eyes burning in fury.
"Where the hell do you think you're going bitch?" They held some weapons in their hands and I wondered where they got them from.
I got into a fighting stance, ready to break every bone in their bodies if need be.
"Stay out of trouble Emily," Aunty Tessy's warning sounded in my head again as the girls charged at me.
"I'm sorry Aunty Tessy, trouble found me out...."
